Yup. IMO they CWS done that with ALL her 90s hits when she came back with ANDHC! They should have focused more on the new instead of the old!

 

It's funny Celine isn't one to look back on the past, yet she clings on the same songs for almost 2 decades

 

Does she though? Or has it been Rene / Franco Dragone / Ken Ehrlich who have been insisting on the old songs (with the same arrangements) in the set list all these years? I guess we'll find out in August when Aldo has his influence on his first Celine Dion show.

I've read about those stories from other artists but dont knkw about celine and her team.

 

I love SYS !! I've burned it on a cd with loads of other top 40 songs, and everytime it is playing and I'm with friends they wonder who the singer is. And then they wont believe me when I say it's celine dion haha

 

Just sat and watched her last 3 French music vids and they were amazing and we got a crap live performance vid as the first single and not a bad but a bit cheesy and predictable second music video, but no where near the time, money and effort spent at all, and I'm a bit pissed off the more I think about it.

 

Fair enough Rene was sick around the time incredible came out... But they had months to have made a great vid for lmbtl and didn't bother.

 

So I think with her return, don't waste that album, it's a new chapter, new management and a new chance... Release a great uptempo from that album as a summer single and if need be remix it, but push the hell out of it and give it an amazing music video like this album deserves and that make ppl sit up and notice and that makes fans proud!!!

 

SLS or SYS are good choices... I personally would go for SLS and remix it slightly!!!

It happened before too Robin! LAEE wasn't a hit/single in France untill 1993, three years after DCP was released! Only then the album started to take off! Same with TCOML in Europe, it didn't start selling majorly untill TT became a hit a year or so after the album release! There is still hope! BUT THEY gotta make it happen!

This + opening the show with "Thankful" with a huge choir. Then keep the curtain to make it fall during the first "But i'm thankfuuulll to be here,..." + a little videoclip. That's a nice dream, eh....? But the reality is, that the LMBTL project is most probably already dead and the curtain has already been given to Mariah. She will not use it for her show but as a dress. A mini dress

a re-release would be great but it's been 1.5 years since it was originally released. Wouldn't it be kinda late now for a re- release?

When TAST and D'eux gets collector's editions 9 or 15 years after they're released, or when other albums, ATW, Unison, TCOML, FIY, LTAL, get re-releases every other year 20 years after they're released, 1.5 years is not too late.

In a backstage interview I just watched at the Billboard Music Awards yesterday, Céline talks about how excited she is to perform again and says they're already have production meetings to make changes to the show. And she says 30-40% will be different. She also said Rene is doing really well and is involved in all the show changes too

I'd be very surprised if there wasn't at least a new programme. Although it may not be for the opening. They may want new stage pics included.

I think the problem with the last show wasn't so much the covers individually but because there was so many... I like a few of them but as a collective it felt the show was not hers

 

News of her singing her own songs is amazing!

He wants to see her perform one last grand show before he dies :'( The way she says "walk this road" in the press conference after the Billboard Awards only reaffirmed this impression.

Yeah, but to play devil's advocate we haven't seen her for a year, so obviously she has had time to make her "peace" (although realistically that word doesn't apply for anyone who's close to a cancer battle) with it. I have a bad feeling about it all, but I don't pretend to know anything.
