Well after a quick trip to my local Target....What a let down......... No displays, nada! The shelves were in this order, top to bottom, Eminem then Celine then Avril

So I proudly "rearranged" them in the proper order! Look for me on the local news!

 

I know exactly what you mean. I went to Target too ( even tho I've ordered from the boutique and amazon), and I wanted to do what you did!! I couldn't tho', 'cause somebody was behind me!!! I told my husband what you did, and he said, "Yeah, put Celine where she belongs!! LOL!!!!

I can't believe that I finally have that CD!!! We have all waited so long for this day to arrive. I can remember this time last year, and how disappointed everyone was that it was postponed. Well, the wait is over!! Wow, the time did fly by quickly!! Having Sans Attendre really did help!!!

 

What a joy it's going to be spreading good cheer with this new CD!!! Woo hoo!! I am one happy lady right now!!!!

I haven't received mine from the Boutique yet either. I received the confirmation when I ordered it, but nothing regarding whether it had been shipped yet. I did e-mail them today asking for some info regarding this. It does seem to me that a perk from pre-ordering from the boutique would be to have it on the exact release date. That's just my opinion.

I got mine from the boutique this afternoon, I also picked up a copy at Target just in case it didn't come. I ordered on Sept. 17 if the date matters. I know with Sans Attendre I ordered very late and it came on Thursday after the release date, so 2 days later. Hope this helps. I agree, though all preorders should be arriving on the release date.

I like ABYG too! I think the melody is beautiful.... And even though the lyrics are definitely on the cheesy side I still think they're very beautiful and powerful. "I will always try to make it better than it was for me.... "

I love, love, love having the CD and have been listening to it nonstop . . . but I've been having an issue with some static-y sounds on my CD, which I got at Target . . .it's especially noticeable in the beginning notes on Incredible and Somebody Loves Somebody, and somewhat on the beginning of Breakaway. Where it's on the piano notes, it sounds like the piano needs tuning badly . . .I would think Celine's team can afford a good piano tuner, so I'm assuming it's some issue with the CD. Has anyone else been having this issue? Wondering if I should buy the songs on iTunes also to get better quality!

There's nothing wrong with the CD, that's just how the songs sound.

 

In Somebody Loves Somebody, it sounds like they're using the sound a record player makes when playing vinyl.

 

In Incredible, I don't know who thought it was a good idea to have that piano sound distorted, but I don't like it. I know other people on here pointed that out too.

I anxiously was awaiting by my mailbox to get the CD today but went online and found out that my WOWHD US order was not shipped yet because LMBTL was backordered. I then cancelled my order and drove to the nearest Target where I was able to purchase a Deluxe Version. The Eminem shelf had 2 cds left and Celine's section had about 10 left.

 

I have listened to the cd numerous times throughout the day and must say that this is the best Celine Dion english album since ANDHC. That being said Sans Attendre is my all time favorite album (even though I don't know any french) and is on replay in my house every weekend. The only Celine Dion album I have never fallen in love with or even cared to fully listen to is One Heart. (I do love IDAN, OH & IKWLI)

 

Fav. Songs:

1) Breakaway (I love Celine's vocals throughout the song, you can feel every word that she sings in this song. I hope this is the next single.)

2) Water and a Flame (Thought I would hate it especially after Daniel Merriweather's comments but the bridge is amazing!)

3) Loved Me Back To Life (Since I saw this song live in Quebec it has been my favorite; the beats, Celine's voice, the orchestral background, the guitar solo, all add up and make it amazing)

4) Save Your Soul (I love how Celine plays with her voice in this song. Although the album version is great, the rap version is even better!)

5) Thank You (What a gem! Although it is not breaking boundaries, the lyrics are full of meaning and Celine's voice sounds perfect.)

 

Things I don't like about the album:

• I don't really find Incredible that "incredible", although I do see a potential for a big winter hit.
  
• Overjoyed is very out of place on this album and Celine sounds too restrained (like she didn't want to out-sing Stevie). This song should be on Stevie's album and not Celine's. If Overjoyed was replaced with Open Arms this would be my favorite english album since FIY.
  
• I really loved the movie version of Unfinished Songs but hate the new arrangement. It sounds very different and almost changed the song completely.
  
• Why is the piano in Incredible distorted? Did the music production team forget to review the CD before making it?
  

While Taking Chances had some great tracks, songs like That's Just the Woman In Me, New Dawn, Can't Fight the Feeling, and Shadow of Love really ruined an otherwise great album.

 

Loved Me Back To Life is fluid, modern yet restrained, and pleases both the fans that wanted an "edgier" Celine (myself included) and the fans that wanted the "Vegas" Celine.

Breakaway is brilliant but the first time I heard it I thought they should have had celine sing lower during part of the song.........oversung during part of it? The 2nd or 3rd time it was much better.... or I was just getting use to it.....I just don't want Celine to be like Xtina and oversing stuff?!

i don't like at all, too much syrup maybe. But i respect people who likes it. if i go back, i don't like the syrup if the music that accompaniate it don't make me forget. the music is just so ordinary for me in this song, i have the impression to have heard it a million times, and the lyrics....so , nothing to gain for me. But just one song that i hate is great.

I can't believe I'm actually holding new Celine album on vinyl in my hands. So surreal. I had to choose which one to listen first, cd or vinyl. But I decided vinyl because...uhmm hellooo, first vinyl since Falling Into You, it was really easy choice. I don't get why did they drop rap part from the cd version but on the other hand, it's kind of cool that it's exclusive for vinyl only. I just feel bad for those who can't play it.

I love the album. I honestly don't get all the hate for Always Be Your Girl. Yes, the lyrics are cheesy but the melody is nice and she sings it soooo beautifully.

The songs I don't like and I knew I wouldn't like them: Water and a Flame and Overjoyed.

Love: Somebody Loves Somebody, Save Your Soul, Incredible, Unfinished Songs, Breakaway, Thankful, Loved Me Back To Life.... ok, I better stop or I'll write all the songs .

My only tiny complain: I wish there were more uptempo songs, one or two more, because it's ballads overload on certain places. I think it's great she didn't finish standard album with a usual ballad. I don't care much for bonus deluxe tracks so I don't really count them as part of the album.

I wish Sony gets big surprise with number of vinyls sold and decides to release all the back catalogue .

I didnt cry, but hearing her voice and music made me soooo emotional inside, 1thru 7 were like paradise to me! I couldnt believe it. Save your soul is addicting!!

 

Then, "Thank You" ruined the flow of emotions and left me blank, definitely a filler.... Stevie wonder duet was much better than i expected (hate the live version) THEN THANKFUL!!!! Omg!! Unfinished song: N.o.w t.h.e m.u.s.i.c m.a.t.c.h t.h.e l.y.r.i.c.s!!! Love it!!

I just opened the vinyl from Amazon. LOL, I wasn't sure how to take it out as not to put fingerprints on it. Thought it didn't come with the CD so I ordered the regular edition as well, oh well, at least it comes in a jewel case with booklet.
