That's not what Celine said, tho. Celine simply said that if you move to another country, you must be willing to accept their values and you can't except that country to change based on your religious beliefs (i.e., a religious person in Canada shouldn't be able to refuse to see a woman doctor or a gay doctor on the basis of their religion). What she said was simply that you must respect the values of the country you move to. She said that if she were to move to an Arabic country where women were expected to wear veils, she would wear a veil. She has no problem with people's religions. Just be respectful of the values of others.

 

Yeah it's all about respect. Why do some people have to redirect it to personal religion. I hate it.

there has been misinterpretations for sure from a lot of people. it was only an interview in a magazine, not on tv...so we dont know how she said things and how much they cut etc....

I just listened to the full album. The one without the computer voice interrupting the song saying "For you...Breakaway."

 

I think it's a great album. Her best since A New Day Has Come by far. The only song I haven't really grown attached to is "Seventeen." I didn't like "Water and a Flame" at first but it's slowly growing on me.

 

I'm actually surprised by the number of ballads on the album. In her interviews she keeps keeps talking about how this is a "new" sound for her. It's "edgier" but I don't really get that. The only more uptempo songs on the album are "Somebody Loves Somebody" and "Save Your Soul." So, my only criticism for the album is that I would have liked one or two more songs with a beat.

 

She's saying it's modern mostly based on the types of songs she's gotten, the way they were written, the lyrics are a little bit edgier, and the way these songs are produced are more modern.

Lol she wasn't talking to Rene though...she was talking to Babyface and he just sat there and she is like "Okkk". That guy standing finally says something. It was just so awkward lol! Very different from all of the other studio clips! Maybe they were all thinking about being ugly as a kid or something :giggle:

Gaga and Eminem's are right at the top of the list...

 

That reminds me, have you heard Lady Gaga's album? I listened to it yesterday, and in general I enjoy her music, but this album is like a collection of b-songs. She's lost her magic, and I would give the album 1/10. It's really, really bad. It's embarrassing.

It is exciting that in a few more minutes the stores will be open... and much more exciting that she might bode selling more than one album PER SECOND today, counting European and American sales. :cheer:

My deluxe edition hasn't still arrived so I listened to the two remaining tracks and didn't really care for either of them :/ so when it arrives, I'm gonna be returning it. If there's ever an edition with a dvd, then I'll buy that in addition to the standard one I already have :)

see if Eminem's CD is right next to hers then her album should accidentally go on top in his as you walk by the display. Haha

Radio 2 just played 'Somebody Loves Somebody' as part of their Album of the Week feature - great promo for the album and sounded fantastic! Interested which other tracks will be chosen (and who chose them Radio 2 or Sony UK) as this is a great way of getting over to the radio listening public what the flavour of the album is like. Quite tricky as if every selection is up-tempo some older Celine fans and non-fans could be put off and not keen on the new direction. Saying that I think its great that she is sounding amazing, fresh and modern but is still herself :) There has been some really negative responses to Loved Me Back to Life (single) with listeners moaning that it is too R&B and overproduced . . . we all have different tastes I suppose! x

Another strategy is to post info about Céline's new album in anything related to Gaga, Katy, Miley or Britney! :D
