Little bit surprise she sang only 2 songs form new album during promo event of new album ... but very nice to see Celine on event like this, it´s very welcome to see her singing out of Vegas, she looks great, love her hair style, and her voice ... amazing! Hope she will do intimate concerts in future as she said she would like to do it.

Will you shoot me if I say that I'm not excited at all with this concert? I'm not jealous. This is another example of how much Céline can have a chance to do something different and show off the great songs she has in her repertoire, both the new ones from the new album and some old ones which she doesn't sing very often, and how she wastes it all.

 

Come on, she did not even performed Somebody Loves Somebody, which is supposed to be the upcoming single! Only LMBTL, the obsessive WAAF and that's it. Bring on the Vegas menu. Again. Here too. Grrrreat

 

Honestly, is this insistence needed? Now I know there's no hope left for a chance to see a different concert of her one day. I thought we could see something different today, it's the first time she does an escape from Las Vegas to do a special intimate show like this, and all they have to offer is... just exactly the same she does there. I'm not buying this, sorry. She's closing the doors to develop her performing career, and it seems Vegas will follow her whatever and wherever she goes, at least until 2019

 

At 17, borrrrring. The only time the crowd went dead. Stand out moments for the crowd, LMBTL, the Reason, River Deep and the intro to MHWGO which was sublime!! The crowd ate it up.

 

Only Céline can have a new album with modern songs, run to NYC to have the chance to present her new songs in a special venue, and come with the same boring repertoire she's singing in her Vegas show

 

I could not be more disappointed at the setlist. Just when I thought she was getting with the picture, she goes and does another Vegas set with 2 songs from the album? Seriously? And then chooses a bunch of the songs from Vegas that are lipped. She sings SLS on the Today Show and can't fit that in? Ugh, it's 2 steps forward and 3 steps back with her sometimes.

Honestly, what were some of you expecting? I swear some of y'all just come here to moan, smh.

 

The opening to My Heart Will Go On gave me goosebumps. Amazing.

 

Expecting? That's probably the problem, that when it comes to her concerts, we'd better not to expect anything. Have you seen the posters in the walls outside the building? They are using photos of the new album, and the girl has a new album out within less than a week. The least we could expect is a showcase mainly about that new album, not an exhibition of her Vegas show. The posters were wrongly picked then. The Vegas posters with the "Celine" logo would have been more suitable and descriptive of what people would see inside

I'm really glad the 7 of you (or more) got in - persistence, right?? LOL I'm sure it was an experience that y'all will remember for years to come - especially Matt. Thanks for the 411 on the day, I like all the little details, almost makes me feel like I was there.

 

I see everyone was standing by the stage, was it a mad rush to get in front or how did it work when you got in? Were people at tables? I can't imagine the Sony people standing and dancing!

I love the fact that now that her voice is in top-shape it's very hard to tell if she's lipsyncing or not! yes maybe she could've sung more songs from the new album, but what the heck I'm very happy she did this concert, so I don't really care what songs she sang

Javito, I would think she probably didn't sing more new songs due to lack of rehearsal time with her band... They have to rehearse for the shows in France/Belgium... so there's only so much time in her schedule right now due to all the promotion...

It could be... Anyway I'm sure that if she comes one day to announce her band members "hey guys, I want to sing these new songs from my discography" they're going to be nuts in excitement as if it was Christmas day I'm sure the guys can prepare some quick arrangements without much work. Even if she had performed Think Twice or Misled instead of LCMM and RDMH again, it would have freshened this gig much more.

Drop this ridiculous fantasy you have about Celine pulling out rarities and bsides to sing in concert. It's okay to think about, but to keep b*tching and complaining for her to do it is unreal. It's never going to happen. You are all insane, and living in some parallel universe.

I don't think she'll ever please everybody, but she's active, promoting the heck out of this album, had a super successful French record and is about to embark on the European minitour... I'm happy and waiting for her next steps. I've put aside my past coulda woulda shouldas because it's a bit crazy to have many expectations and then be crushed if they don't come true. I think it's better to take things as they come and live the present. Still have hopes, but not too over the top.

Joey ur such a sweetie! Sorry you couldn't make it this time around. Contest winners...and well, us non contest winners (hehe) were on the main ballroom floor and the press and execs were all on the mezzanine level with tables.

Sorry but it can´t be that difficult... sometimes we think Celine is a Hero because she has a Vegas concert and she deals with being a mother of three kids and everything and ooohhh it's amazing how hard she works.... it is impossible to make a new concept for a show.. we don't have time.... (what has she being doing the whole october? recording a video.. nop... promo worldwide... nop...

I don't want to devaluate the work of the musicians preparing a show... I have never do it so I don't know... I have friends in band preparing concerts for little theathers but they never needed moore than 1 week to prepare everything....

This is not an orchestral concert with one thousand lights and effects... this is an intimate small venue to sing some songs... this should had be for celine like going to a soundcheck with no audience...

I'm not the one that is going to say that I want to listen to rare songs or the songs that I like from the career and they never sung it.... for me it is ok if the sing the same songs because are the most succesful... ok... but in the other hand... like all the artist I think they do... They can give a different chance to that songs.... She can try to do different things... try new things with the anthems... I think it is sadly that they loose the chance to do something a little bit different... They have the piano, the drums and three guitars.. just sing TPOL or ABM or BYLM with that instruments.... it is seruously neccesary to use the background prerecorded violins for All By Myself.... Why don't you use simply the piano... why to keep using the same musical effects even if you are in a small theather as if you are in Vegas huge stage....

And sorry but I can't understand that she couldn't prepare Breakaway or At seventeen or Didn't know love or Always be your girl... It is as simple as they didn't want to do it...

I'm ok with the classic setlist but just if they seem capable to adapt the songs to the actual circumstances...

 

In the other hand... I really like what I have seen... Celine looked very surprise and funny of being doing something like that.... I REALLY LOVED The Reason...how she performed... it was awesome, really powerful and self confidence... it really looks like she loves that song. I think The Reason has always been a little bit neglected when in my opinion is one of the greatest english songs she has ever recorded....

And as I say... I really pity that she didn't make more new songs... and intimate performance of ABYG or BA or AS but LMBTL and specially WAAF were incredible...

Agreed! It's impossible for any one person to please everyone 100% of the time. She's even said this in recent interviews followed by "I don't try to". She just sings because she loves to sing! Which is exactly what I saw from her in the recent promos and with this show. She just looks like she's having so much fun and really enjoying herself! It's great to see this from her again!!

But while she hasn't been doing the promo this whole month, or recording a video, she has been being a mom and wife, while doing her show, and rehearsing for her European tour. They already came up with a separate concept for that...that's 2 shows that Celine and the band are working on. To put together a third would be unheard of and just way too much to juggle. It would be physically and mentally exhausting. A no name band putting together a set list is much different than a major star putting together a show.

This is just her band members with the keyboards, guitar, bass guitar and two background singers there, in an intimate stage. She's even using screens to read the lyrics!!! How hard can be to prepare the arrangements with just those instruments and play some of her old songs with such minimal conditions? They're musicians, they live for that!!! Also, you act as if Céline had the hardest work on Earth. Besides, not every singer has the chance to have the same band members for over 20 years with her. Surely they have thought and discussed more than once how they could play this or that song from one of her new albums each time she has released one. Again I think you're exaggerating things too much. Céline does not put on her shows. She's not the creative director, she never picks the songs she wants to sing. She just arrives to rehearse and does the vocals. She said this a billion times, she only cares to sing, the rest is others job and she delegates on them.

 

How much do you think she rehearsed for Les Plaines concert? She arrived there to do a couple of rehearsals, maybe half an hour, and that's it. She doesn't need to learn the songs, she doesn't need to play the guitar or the keyboards. She just sings (and she's been singing the same songs for 15 years in her concerts).

 

Honestly, how much rehearsal do you think she needs for the french mini tour? She's going to sing the same setlist they did in Quebec in july, probably at the 95%, and you know it.

I would have loved to be there! Old songs, new songs - getting that close to her - that would have been enough! I mean, an intimate setting, seeing her enjoy singing... just being THERE! Damn.
