Jeff Abbott Posted May 16, 2013 at 09:08 PM Posted May 16, 2013 at 09:08 PM WTF? No Israel and San Marino in the final? 1 Quote
Henri Posted May 16, 2013 at 09:20 PM Posted May 16, 2013 at 09:20 PM Well done Sweden, beautiful and simple show. From the first semifinals my favorites were Estonia and The Netherlands. And from the second: Iceland and Hungary. Israel was a bit of a surprise for not getting through. Our Team Ding Ding is going to the final Quote
Daysleeper Posted May 16, 2013 at 09:52 PM Posted May 16, 2013 at 09:52 PM I think the songs in 2nd semi final were better than in the first. I'm surprised San Marino didn't make it to the final. Also I regret Switzerland didn't pass either. They had a quite nice tune. My favorites from the 2nd semi final: Iceland (I think I'm gonna vote for him on Saturday)NorwayHungaryGreece Quote
LuisMa Posted May 16, 2013 at 10:07 PM Posted May 16, 2013 at 10:07 PM Too bad Switzerland won't be there on the 25th anniversary of Celine's win. Quote
Jeff Abbott Posted May 16, 2013 at 10:16 PM Posted May 16, 2013 at 10:16 PM (edited) Isn't it quite unexpected that all the Balkan countries (apart from Greece) failed to qualify for the final? Edited May 16, 2013 at 10:31 PM by Jeff Abbott Quote
Boy Posted May 17, 2013 at 10:54 AM Posted May 17, 2013 at 10:54 AM (edited) Malta's man was pretty funny He can't really sing but he's got something charming Edited May 17, 2013 at 10:55 AM by Boy Quote Love comes to those who believe it...
Daysleeper Posted May 17, 2013 at 12:29 PM Posted May 17, 2013 at 12:29 PM Isn't it quite unexpected that all the Balkan countries (apart from Greece) failed to qualify for the final? Yes, it's strange. There's no any of ex Yugoslavian countries in the final (I'm not saying they deserved, but still...). Look at this gap on the map in light violet colour: http://eurosong.hr/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/xcjbko.jpg.png There is a line from Switzerland to Bulgaria. Also, all Scandinavian countries are in the final as well as all ex SSSR countries (except Latvia). Quote
ErwinG Posted May 17, 2013 at 02:17 PM Posted May 17, 2013 at 02:17 PM WTF? No Israel and San Marino in the final? Tell me about it ... they were great on the second final ... I was really hoping to see them in the final ... From the second final only 5 of my favorites qualified ... which will make the Final on Saturday much more interesting ... My Top 5 for the Final:1. Italy2. Denmark3. Azerbaijan4. United Kingdom5. the Netherlands Armenia, Russia, Spain and Iceland are pretty close as well ... if any of my Top 5 wins, I'll be very very happy I would have loved to see Switzerland in the final as well ... I like the song ... and Finland made it to the Final ... wasn't that great but it made an impact for sure ... Can't wait for Saturday's Finale ... Quote

J-Man Posted May 18, 2013 at 02:02 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 02:02 PM Anouk has released a beautiful tragic video clip for Birds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMTggnBEtt4 Wow!!! Anouks video is beautiful. I really hope she does well in this Eurovision. She's quite different from all the other artists in it this year. She's not trying to hard, just getting up their and singing her song. But in Eurovision land where ya gotta have a gimmick, I hope it'll get noticed. I know it's the favourite, but I'm not a big fan of the Danish entry, she has a nice voice but the song doesn't really have it for me. And let's face it who in their right mind would want to hear a sing that starts with a tin whistle?. It'd be great if the amazing presenter, Petra of whatever her name is, could interact with Celine from '88, like she did with those other performers during the Semi-Finals. Best presenter in Eurovision history i.m.o. Can't wait to see what she comes out in tonight Quote http://www.powerofthemusic.com/other/FORUMSIG1.png
Jeff Abbott Posted May 18, 2013 at 02:07 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 02:07 PM I'd love to be able to say we'll have a surprise winner this year but Denmark has definitely a broad appeal to audiences across Europe. Will it translate into enough points to win the whole competition? I'm not sure because at this point anything can happen, and that's what's great about Eurovision. Quote
Daysleeper Posted May 18, 2013 at 03:04 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 03:04 PM I'm not a big fan of danish entry. It's too typical and predictable. I'm not saying it's a bad song, but there are better songs. The girl is cute though. I'll give my verdict after I hear all songs tonight. For now my big three are Iceland, Italy and Norway. Quote

LuisMa Posted May 18, 2013 at 07:39 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 07:39 PM (edited) The introduction to the Spanish song reminds me of B*Witched. I liked the Belgium entry. Edited May 18, 2013 at 07:40 PM by LuisMa Quote
Jeff Abbott Posted May 18, 2013 at 07:47 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 07:47 PM About Belgium - 100% agreed. About Malta - I have no idea how the hell that song reached the final. Quote
