Jeff Abbott Posted July 23, 2013 at 04:20 AM Posted July 23, 2013 at 04:20 AM true ... some of the songs are so great ... you can't stop listening to them ...... not to forget about Israel and San Marino (the girl will be participating for the third year in a row) Quote
Jeff Abbott Posted July 23, 2013 at 01:41 PM Posted July 23, 2013 at 01:41 PM (edited) ^^^ by the girl I obviously meant Valentina Monetta. turned out kind of confusing Edited July 23, 2013 at 01:41 PM by Jeff Abbott Quote
dj4celine Posted July 23, 2013 at 03:41 PM Posted July 23, 2013 at 03:41 PM Can someone tell me why Sweden got such low points? 'You' is such a nice song. The same thing happened back in 2011 when Hungary's entry Kati Wolf had such a great song with 'What About My Dreams'. True, the stage production was a little pathetic, but I guess, politics comes into play as well Quote

True, the stage production was a little pathetic, but I guess, politics comes into play as well Eurovision in itself is so unpredictable, e.g. the results from 2011. It often amazes me as well why certain songs eventually get so high on the scoreboard while others end up at the bottom (Ireland 2013). As of Sweden, Loreen must have used up the deux points quota for Sweden for the next couple of years. As of Kati Wolf, the song was awesome, but her voice was, let's say it was good. (that's my impression) Besides, she performed quite early (5th) and that could've played a role too. Edited July 23, 2013 at 04:20 PM by Jeff Abbott 1 Quote

Maybe cos she was doing all the Air Bending, Water Bending, Fire Bending and Earth Bending (Avatar: The Last Airbender reference used here ) and some Kamehameha (DragonBall fan, too ) and it went on to win Kati's voice was good. I mean, really good. But the stage production and the blue abomination she called dress was to blame, IMO. They were too dismal. But then again, I still listen to What About My Dreams from time to time. Love the music video. Her makeup in the video reminds me of Céline's Taking Chances music video make up. Quote

The minute I heard her song I already knew it's over for the rest of contestants. By the way, I always wondered why some people used to say that Kati looks a lot like Celine. Does she really? Quote

dj4celine Posted July 23, 2013 at 05:48 PM Posted July 23, 2013 at 05:48 PM Yup, Kati does have certain mannerisms, looks and the texture of her voice are quite similar to Céline's. If I'm not wrong, she was equated to Céline in one of the adverts of the Eurovision in 2011, can't exactly remember which one. It was in a German magazine, too. Quote

Pangloss76 Posted October 15, 2013 at 07:40 PM Posted October 15, 2013 at 07:40 PM It's a shame that most every country across Europe except France is thrilled about Eurovision. Whenever I talk about Eurovision people look at me like I am old-fashioned! My best friend met swedish people in her class last year and she came to me saying "my god, you'd love those guys, they spend their days humming "Euphoria" and betting on the other contestants". Since then she's enjoyed Eurovision and stopped looking down on the contest. I'm happy because she did not really believe me when I told her Eurovision was big in Europe. She actually thought I didn't want to admit I was the only dum*** to watch it LOL. Most of the European people I know love Eurovision and even gather to watch the show... In France, many of my friends mock me when I tell her I record the show not to miss it! Too bad! Quote

Here are Ilse de Lange and Waylon: I am looking forward to hearing more from them together ... Quote
