Jeff Abbott Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:28 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:28 PM Yeah, at this time that's almost a given. Too much biting my nails for nothing, as I don't really like that song. I guess the Danish song is nice, but to me it's not for the first place. Quote
LuisMa Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:29 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:29 PM The Netherlands got also Top 10 placement, which is good! The Denmark song evokes the Alexander Rybak song that won years ago. Poor Spain and Ireland! x2 Quote

LuisMa Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:34 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:34 PM (edited) But Spain had a weak song this year. Last year's, even if it was in Spanish got quite some points, but it was much better and so was the singer. Ireland had a nice song. Too bad! Edited May 18, 2013 at 10:38 PM by LuisMa Quote
Jeff Abbott Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:40 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:40 PM I'm happy for Belgium, it has got a pretty result too, though many doubted it'd even reach the final. Quote
LuisMa Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:42 PM Posted May 18, 2013 at 10:42 PM I really liked the Belgian entry, yes! Quote
Jeff Abbott Posted May 19, 2013 at 01:31 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 01:31 PM I love that Carola had her chance to perform at the ESC final as well. (around 7:10) :mdr: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqMsC9uPxME Quote
Davey84 Posted May 19, 2013 at 04:11 PM Author Posted May 19, 2013 at 04:11 PM I had a great night yesterday, at my friends parents house We had drinks, discussions and dorkiness I am soooooooo happy with the 9th place in the finals! Although, it sucked that Italy got so many points in the last minute, otherwise we would have been 8th! Also GERMANY! no points at all! But being in the finals again after 9 years and reaching the top 10 makes me really happy I don't agree with the winner Denmark, to be frank! The song is so simple and such a Shakira rip off act! I liked Malta more, with that energetic guy! And I don't understand why so many people liked Ukraine... I thought that song was horrible! LOL And a lot of people with me! France was horrible too! LOL John, I am sorry you guys finished last! But to be frank, the studio version is great, but live it just didn't happen. My top 5 from last night would be: 1 The Netherlands ( )2 Malta3 Greece4 Azerbaijan 5 Russia (that dress reminded me of the MHWGO video clip lol) Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

Jeff Abbott Posted May 19, 2013 at 04:26 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 04:26 PM I'm really glad Petra's performance as the ESC hostess was so well-received by the audiences around Europe. She totally deserves recognition for that, she did a great job. And most importantly, her jokes were hilarious (she's a comedienne after all). Quote
Jeff Abbott Posted May 19, 2013 at 06:18 PM Posted May 19, 2013 at 06:18 PM By the way, I could never expect to see "dancing meatballs" on the Eurovision stage. Just a random thought. Quote
Ray Posted May 20, 2013 at 06:23 PM Posted May 20, 2013 at 06:23 PM My favorites were Denmark, Azerbeidzjan and Georgia. Two of them ended in the Top 2. So I was very pleased. Also great to see the Netherlands in the top 10. Very happy about that although I don't like the song at all. My partner was totally mad for Belgium so we voted for Belgium. It did get 12 points from the Netherlands. Quote Céline Dion Mariah Carey Madonna Lara Fabian Debbie Gibson Wilson Phillips Linda Eder Tina Arena Martika
ErwinG Posted May 20, 2013 at 09:50 PM Posted May 20, 2013 at 09:50 PM What a night it was ... I loved the show ... 4 of my top 5 finished in the TOP 10 at the end of the night ... I honestly didn't expect Spain and Ireland to be the last ones after voting ... wonder what Spain will do next year ... the spanish producers will be scratching their heads and have a lot of work to do ... Happy that Anouk made it into the Top 10 this year ... WTG! Can someone tell me who the girl who fell from the stage was? and when did this happen on the ESC? Petra did a great job as well ... Quote
J-Man Posted May 20, 2013 at 11:05 PM Posted May 20, 2013 at 11:05 PM I had an amazing Eurovision party on Saturday night and got totally rat faced! Great laugh Plus I won the sweepstake draw. €150 and a bottle of Buck's Fizz! Happy days! 1 Quote http://www.powerofthemusic.com/other/FORUMSIG1.png

Frida Posted May 21, 2013 at 11:13 AM Posted May 21, 2013 at 11:13 AM Can someone tell me who the girl who fell from the stage was? and when did this happen on the ESC? That's Carola (an artist a lot of swedes love to hate) she won the ESC in 1991 with the song "Fångad av en stormvind" (Captured by a storm wind), hence the tiny cameo (being blown off stage/"captured by a wind macihne" ) "Fångad av en stormvind/Captured by a storm wind" from the ESC 1991 The english version is called "Captured by a love storm" She also represented Sweden in 1983... Indeed they have ... not sure what they will want to do next ... last years' Pastora did a great job ... and well, she can sing ... maybe they can send Monica Naranjo doing an English pop rock song ... destin139 Posted May 23, 2013 at 05:00 PM Posted May 23, 2013 at 05:00 PM Well we didn't come last! Go Bonnie Tyler! Lol (sorry Ireland - definitely thought that song deserved to do better). Jeff Abbott Posted May 23, 2013 at 06:25 PM Posted May 23, 2013 at 06:25 PM (edited) Loreen's videoclip to "We Got The Power" has just been released. This is the same song that Loreen premiered at the ESC final last Saturday. Check it out guys. reamary Posted May 24, 2013 at 06:44 PM Posted May 24, 2013 at 06:44 PM (edited) I didn't watch the contest this year, but after your comments I've now listened to a bunch of the songs. I have to say I'm not surprised that Denmark won, the song sounds like a "Eurovision winner" song. I think it's pretty good. And wow, Russia's song was very beautiful! Better than the Danish one in my opinion. And WOW, I really love Germany's song!! I had no idea Cascada was representing her country! But I think a song like that never would have had a chance to win.. but I would've probably given my 12 points to Germany this year! I can definitely see that song becoming a hit!About Spain, I don't think it deserves to be among the last two. I think it's a beautiful song, especially as it's sung in Spanish. Finland's song however.. NOT surprised we became 3rd last... I think our song was pretty terrible.
