Xpresso Posted November 22, 2012 at 02:33 AM Posted November 22, 2012 at 02:33 AM In Switzerland the album is still strong, moving down one to number 3. Last week's number one tumbled to 5. That's great and she's ahead of Johnny who debuts at #4. Quote

But in a way, she has! Her music is so universally appealing that there's no doubt that every day she gains more fans regardless of their age. I remember I posted somewhere in this forum that I smile when I see very young and devoted fans who were born in the year that I started listening to Celine's Music. 1 Quote

LuisMa Posted November 22, 2012 at 04:23 PM Posted November 22, 2012 at 04:23 PM I read that she sold a bit over 27,000 copies in Canada this week. As per France, 02 (01) Céline Dion - Sans Attendre 48,109 (143,678) Quote

As per France, 02 (01) Céline Dion - Sans Attendre 48,109 (143,678) That was a huge drop in Canada, however those are big numbers for Canada and especially for France. She probably already surpassed the 300.000 barrier worldwide Quote
Xpresso Posted November 22, 2012 at 07:58 PM Posted November 22, 2012 at 07:58 PM Well to be honnest many singers don't even sell 27,000 CDs in their first week in Canada. So that's pretty good for week 2. It's impossible to keep selling 90,000 every week! Quote
LukeD Posted November 23, 2012 at 04:50 AM Posted November 23, 2012 at 04:50 AM 27k coming from Quebec is huge. Aguilera's new english album debuted in Canada with 7.5k copies. 48k in France is still more than what D'elles sold in its debut week. The numbers of Sans Attendre are impressive, the album just needs some longevity. 1 Quote
letstalkaboutce Posted November 23, 2012 at 06:45 AM Posted November 23, 2012 at 06:45 AM it will get 2xplatinum in canada at least Quote
LukeD Posted November 23, 2012 at 10:16 AM Posted November 23, 2012 at 10:16 AM * D'elles actually sold 55k in its debut week lol. Quote
mike_z Posted November 23, 2012 at 10:19 AM Posted November 23, 2012 at 10:19 AM How much did "D'elles" sell in Canada on its second week? By the way big promo is ahead in France. PAMP could easily become a #1 hit and "Le Miracle" probably enter the top 20 Quote
LuisMa Posted November 23, 2012 at 10:36 AM Posted November 23, 2012 at 10:36 AM (edited) What I found is some worldwide data for D'Elles, according to Mediatraffic. It sold 133,000 copies in its first week, 74,000 in its second, and 39,000 in its third. So, in only two weeks, Sans Attendre has sold even more than what D'Elles had already sold in three weeks. wjd Posted November 23, 2012 at 02:40 PM Author Posted November 23, 2012 at 02:40 PM For those concerned with Mediatraffic, the numbers are usually posted on Friday, around 5:00pm/6:00pm. I reckon that it will finish thus in its two biggest markets... Canada - 160,000 copies MINIMUM [2x platinum - realistically will probably sell between 180,000-200,000 - have ambitions for 3x platinum which would represent shipments of 240,000] - current sales stand at 121,000. France - 200,000 copies MINIMUM [2x platinum - realistically, I reckon this has a shot at outdoing D'elles in France which sold over 270,000 copies - 300,000 copies would represent 3x platinum and I think we should be hoping for this, anything more would be epic] - current sales stand at 144,000, so we're half way there already and with big promo lined up! Quote Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
LuisMa Posted November 23, 2012 at 02:43 PM Posted November 23, 2012 at 02:43 PM Thank you, Wayne for the info. Yes, I believe those numbers are perfectly achievable, given the big promo that's coming! Quote
