Well, IMO the movie is not going to be a blockbuster. Therefore the soundtrack may remain unknown... Or the song will be so great that the movie will get attention through it But I think that this is rather unlikely

Since we're talking a lot about Diane, could someone share again what Celine told about her years ago in one of her books? I remember that Celine didn't want to work with her again, but I can't remember why.

Ok, I rarely post on the forum, but this waiting is ludicrous and is driving me round the bend!

 

I know a lot of us would change 1001 thing (if not more) about Sony, still I think it would be prudent to choose one person, who will be in close contact with Sony, and who will represent (us) the fans. So, that way we would be in the loop and have our say in some decisions, like choosing songs for the album or voting for / against covers.

I don't think Celine said anything against Diane in any of her books or elsewhere, but you may be thinking of this: Around the time of Let's Talk About Love, there were some articles swirling around that Celine's team was asking songwriters for her albums for a certain amount of the music-publishing rights (royalties). Diane Warren wouldn't agree to this and her songs were not included on that album (Celine's team said the songs they chose not to include were simply not the best songs on the album, and other writers who declined to give up any publishing rights (like Carole King) *were* included. But I remember reading an article in which Diane was quoted, where she said something to the effect that she didn't think it was right for them to be asking singers for any of their publishing rights.

Thanks for posting! I didn't know that, but that wasnt what I was searching. I remember people saying that Celine didn't wanna to record with Diane anymore because she was too defensive with her songs and that came a time where Rene needed to lie for Celine hiding the name of writer so she could listen to the demo and want to record. Just in that point he could reveal that Diane was the real writer behind the song.

With all the devices out there, you think someone would have uploaded it to youtube by now. There is one video on youtube, but it's just a bunch of breathing sounds.

I don't know what a plug in is? I'm not good with computers, but if anyone has a plug in they might be able to listen to it. I think it's fake though.

no such plug-in, it could be a malware...

I've watched the vid on youtube, no plugin needed. If you listen closely (high volume) there's nothing on it... and you can see someone's playing around with the device. Maybe he / she uploaded the wrong file, or it's simply fake.

 

Maybe people were soooo very fascinated by Celine and the new song that they simply forgot to record anything

Let's be honest... only the big Celine fans knew that her song would play during the credits.

Most people were probably just surprised to hear Celine at the end of the movie. ("Is that the Titanic lady???" )

I think that's the most logical explanation for this. But even though it was totally unexpected for "small" Céline fans (people who just "like" her)... couldn't they just have set their mobile phones to record a few seconds extract at the end of the song, maybe?

Come on, let's not panic. Chances are this premiere was held in a relatively small theatre so there may well have been only 100-200 people there. I'd imagine secuirty is pretty tight at film premieres also. Who remembers trying to record or take pictures during "A New Day...", they just didn't allow it.

A lot of people tweeted about the song.. It is not so easy to leak a song nowadays, especially in US or Canada where they are really strict.

 

When you hear a "demo" leaked (Xtina, Britney, etc) it is always the discography to see how people react to the song.

 

Nobody recorded the new single at Sony UK neither, or the new One Direction single that was also presented...
