Shamrock_1982 Posted June 7, 2012 at 08:58 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 08:58 PM I don't care for any of the shows studio versions for the album apart from HDYKTMP as its a cover yes, but it's a beautiful song that she sings incredibly well, better than the original actually... And I can't wait to hear the studio version as all the bootlegs Ive heard of the song are amazing!
celinelover50 Posted June 7, 2012 at 09:07 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 09:07 PM Awesome News!Loving the idea of the titleloving her singing rolling in the deep - her voice is gonna take that song to a new levelloving the vegas tracks being on there - especially open arms - i adore celine singing thatloving the fact she has a new album on its wayunsure on the ne yo thing as i don't think he is anything special - too much hype with him and he don't live up to it. but its celine and I'm just grateful for her carrying on - so anything is great and i always love whatever she does - as long as there is great styling and amazing images in the cd sleeve ill be even more happier :-) http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s264/celinelover50/celine/TEOL_Sig.jpg
ferjaacu Posted June 7, 2012 at 09:49 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 09:49 PM Thanks for the news !!! So exciting !!! :clapping: See, we just needed to wait and the news will come to us... FAITH !! Well, browseceline, Celine herself never said she wanted to release an album full of new songs instead of one with some of the Vegas covers That was just an article in www.chartsinfrance.net I mean, it wasn't an interview or an official press release It's just like mirage said It's ok if many of you say you are disappointed cause you were expecting something else, but to say "fans in general or most of the fans are disappointed" because of the covers is not so accurate. Many of the fans have at least one of those covers as a favourite. Besides, I keep thinking that only Celine has to decide what to sing, she's the artist. If she want to sing those covers in her Vegas show, or record them in an album, they are HER shows and HER albums. Of course, I'd love more new songs in the album, and maybe leave the Vegas songs for a live CD (even thou I have no problem with them), but that's just MY opinion. I can't say it's the same for everybody. So, I'm ok with the covers cause even thou I don't LOVE all of them, I like the fact that Celine wants to share them with us, and that she is in a way trying to please everybody. About Ne-Yo... Well, I've only heard IGNL and I loved it So this could be another song in the same style Or maybe something in the style of My Love Is Your Love by Whitney We're gonna have to wait and see About the name of the album, well... I guess I'm nto soo into it now but I think I need to listen to the whole album first to understand it http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3216/5786913948_369265dbeb_m.jpg FERLO
fred Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:00 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:00 PM (edited) Can anybody tell me what is so special about Overjoyed? The first time I heard I renamed it Overboored. And I have listened to it a couple of more times but still don't get it. I have nothing against her working with the legend Stevie Wonder, and even though I am not a cover hater I would still have prefered to see they dueting on a total new track - maybe a new classic for both of them. And this unforseen Rolling In The Deep performance will be great to see. But I can't help but think it is odd that she adds such a vocally tough song. Could anybody also please tell me why the album title is so brilliant when it comes to describing the "theme" for this album? Is there something that's getting lost in the language barrier? And yes I am too very thrilled about us getting new releases - just hope they will have a longer lifespan than her other releases! /fred Edited June 7, 2012 at 10:06 PM by fred Peace and love to all.
Javito Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:17 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:17 PM (edited) When did Céline say (recently) that she wanted an album full of original songs? I think I missed that. Xpresso, according to this article published 2 weeks ago, the concept of the album with the Vegas covers had been left behind. I wasn't lying (even though someone tried to question my honesty ) Here you have! Translation of part in bold: the singer would have decided to change the strategy giving up the idea of including some covers. Céline Dion wants to release an album of new songs and take time for it. She would have already accepted two titles from Adele's collaborators. Edited June 7, 2012 at 10:23 PM by Javito "Hush, now... pat200 Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:20 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:20 PM At this moment in time, i will take anything she releases, it has been 5 years and i need new recorded songs from her. And Fred, Rolling in the deep is not a vocally tough song at all. It is a limited range song that sits very well in Celine's mid range
fred Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:28 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:28 PM And Fred, Rolling in the deep is not a vocally tough song at all. It is a limited range song that sits very well in Celine's mid range Ok, I am no vocal expert at all. I just thought the screaming parts in the refrain would be not so kind on the vocals. But ok, I trust you. /fred Peace and love to all.
PaulQ Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:46 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:46 PM These songs ARE confirmed to have been recorded and they will be on the album: Vegas Covers:Open ArmsHow Do You Keep the Music Playing?Overjoyed (duet avec Stevie Wonder)At seventeen (Produced by Baby Face)Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)Ne me quitte pas New songs so far:It's Incredible — Feat. Ne-YoDidn't Know Love — Eg White I'm glad that Open arms will be on the cd!!! I really don't like the stupid adele song she's covering... http://i964.photobucket.com/albums/ae122/ptjmwa/2778236-3933894.jpg
PaulQ Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:51 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:51 PM Yeah "Davey84", her official website is too slow in keeping us informed. I guess that "they" are the last to know about actual "Celine news". It does get rather frustrating too, in my opinion. I don't know why "they" didn't inform everyone about her appearance on the Today Show. Maybe later, they'll say something like...."If you missed Celine's interview on ...., you can watch it here....". Who knows!!! I'm just grateful that somebody alerted us to the fact that it was going to possibly happen here on the forum! Thanks to the "cdf newscasters"!!!! That's why you search for shows using "celine dion" as the keyword. I do that with directv and that's how I knew that she was going to be on the Today show. http://i964.photobucket.com/albums/ae122/ptjmwa/2778236-3933894.jpg
remykyes Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:51 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:51 PM Also, Celine said she admires Adele so much, and that she is so happy to see her succeed. She is fascinated by her and hopes to meet her.And she likes her songs so much that she would love to sing them all. So the Michael Jackson medley in Vegas will be replaced by Rolling in The Deep!!! Source? Other than that, I am BEYOND thrilled about this new album. I love the fact that it's going to be fiery Vegas and hot water for the new songs. The concept for this album is just AMAZING and something we've never seen from Celine before. I think we just need to take a deep breath and be calm. I have a feeling Celine has a few more surprises up her sleeve. I do think that while we know the majority of the vegas songs, they're still new for some of us who don't listen to the bootlegs 24/7. If I want to listen to something, I want it clear and crisp. A bootleg will do for a bit, but i'd rather have a live cd release or an album track. No matter what, Celine is going to sound amazing and I can't wait for this CD! New Signature Coming Soon!
pat200 Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:52 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:52 PM Ok, I am no vocal expert at all. I just thought the screaming parts in the refrain would be not so kind on the vocals. But ok, I trust you. /fred thank you for the trust Plus most probably it will be lipped like the mj tribute
PaulQ Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:54 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:54 PM What does everyone think about the song "Water and a Flame" that Celine will be covering? I think it'll sound very interesting with her voice. I hope she doesn't cover it at all... http://i964.photobucket.com/albums/ae122/ptjmwa/2778236-3933894.jpg
PaulQ Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:54 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 10:54 PM Maybe it's another song but with the same title, who knows? By the way, I'm very curious to hear the studio version of How Do You Keep The Music Playing! I wonder if they'll make it as the Vegas version (a self-duet) or a solo version. I also think that Ne Me Quitte Pas is going to be just in the French album, it suits it better. About the collaboration with Ne-Yo, when I first heard it was gonna happen, the first thing that came to my mind was the song Love The Way You Lie, by Eminem and Rihanna. Now I understand why Celine reacted that way when the woman asked her if she'd like to record with Eminem (at the today show). She said "maybe you'll be surprised". So, the songs from this upcoming English album that have me more excited are: *Open Arms; a studio version of her rendition of this song could be stunning, it's probably gonna be one of the highlights on the album.*How Do You Keep The Music Playing; for the reason I explained above*It's Incredible; this is gonna be one of her most interesting albums! I mean, including a duet with a rapper in an album that features songs such as Open Arms and Overjoyed?!?! Glad to see that René is finally taking some SERIOUS chances Ne-yo is an r&b singer not a rapper. http://i964.photobucket.com/albums/ae122/ptjmwa/2778236-3933894.jpg

But this is from Charts in France... and we know how they don't always use official sources for their information...Oh well, maybe Sony wanted this album out asap and couldn't wait any longer $$$$. They need more money coming in by the end of the year. That's how the music business works!!
celine-rc Posted June 7, 2012 at 11:06 PM Posted June 7, 2012 at 11:06 PM All that I can say is that I'm really happy to hear some official news and we should just wait and see what's going to happen next. We learnt more in the past couple of days then we have in the past years. The albums will be coming out soon so all that we can do now is wait. I'm sure it's going to be great, I love the title of the album. It's very well thought out. http://images.lpcdn.ca/435x290/201103/17/305341.jpg Merci Céline pour ces deux soirées inoubliables que j'ai passées à tes côtés. Je ne les oublierais jamais. chocolatechip15 Posted June 8, 2012 at 01:12 AM Posted June 8, 2012 at 01:12 AM Also, Celine said she admires Adele so much, and that she is so happy to see her succeed. She is fascinated by her and hopes to meet her.And she likes her songs so much that she would love to sing them all. So the Michael Jackson medley in Vegas will be replaced by Rolling in The Deep!!! Nooooo. . .I love the Michael Jackson songs she chose and i can't STAND the song rolling in the deep. Plus, Celine has the personal connection with Michael Jackson. If she were going to do an Adele song, I wish she'd do _someone like you_ (which I have long thought would sound much better if Celine sang it) or _set fire to the rain_. Celine, don't do this before I've gotten to see the show! Is this confirmed news?
CelinesDIVO5 Posted June 8, 2012 at 01:34 AM Posted June 8, 2012 at 01:34 AM I strongly disagree with those who say that doing covers is OK now and that Celine has been doing this from the beginning! Now things have changed! Now there is the internet and YouTube and other means that make things easy to find the covered song! That is, in the past when Celine covered ABMS IACTMN, TPOL...etc. Most People around the world were not familiar with those songs and more importantly cannot find those songs easily. The problem now is that, even if one likes her LV covers, one starts to get bored before the official release. There is no 'surprise' factor in her release! We already know half of what she will sing! I'm surprised that they based their decisions with regard to choosing some of the album songs on some LV visitors who like some of her songs in the Boutique. Hey we are in 2012! Go and see how many people like your songs on YouTube. Actually, quite a few people knew "All By Myself" from the original version and also "The Power Of Love" from Jennifer Rush, and Laura Branigan's versions. There was clearly an overwhelming positive response to the covers in Vegas, otherwise they wouldn't have recorded so many of them. I am excited. The concept of this album sounds pretty interesting to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
infiniti Posted June 8, 2012 at 01:45 AM Posted June 8, 2012 at 01:45 AM ok...who says what is the title of the album? where did "water and flame" come from??? Celine ~
infiniti Posted June 8, 2012 at 01:56 AM Posted June 8, 2012 at 01:56 AM What is it with Céline fans and the eagerness to jump to conclusions in the speed of light on any speculation that comes up? WHERE does it say that Ne-Yo will do rap on the track he's handed Céline?WHERE does it say that Céline will COVER an Adele track for her next album and make it the album titel? These subjects are lifted as a possible assumption of fans. Yet in one post later it is assumed to be facts written in stone. It truly amazes me: Céline fans beat any half good conspiracy theorist on amphetamine by far when it comes to jumping to conclusions. /fred LOL you're right! Where this Adele thing is coming from? Why in the world Celine does Adele cover and names her album after that song??? Absurd!!! Maybe she should do some Sade covers? That would be nice! Celine ~
bertrand Posted June 8, 2012 at 02:56 AM Posted June 8, 2012 at 02:56 AM Gents and Gals,As I wrote may times, let's wait for REAL confirmation about the English and French albums. Then you can criticize or go crazy or ....be satisfy...well some of us.... Thanks

But ok, I trust you. /fred Well it is not so kind idd but thats what Celine does all the time anyway quite intrigued to hear her spin though not a big fan of the song. P.S. I looove Overjoyed... and its the only cover (together with Lullabye) i want to have. Cause i want it on my mp3 and stevie's version is good but i really like celine's voice on it, unfortunately i don't expect Lullabye to be better than Billy Joel's. but u never know
Chin Posted June 8, 2012 at 05:53 AM Posted June 8, 2012 at 05:53 AM I like the song Rolling In The Deep, but not to replace the MJ medley Celine sings those MJ songs because she loves MJ and wants to pay tribute to him, how can they cut out the MJ medley Also, Rolling In The Deep is just one song... One song to replace the whole MJ medley?!

trls Posted June 8, 2012 at 08:04 AM Posted June 8, 2012 at 08:04 AM For the people complaining about Celine (a huge superstar) singing Adele (who's been around since 2008 only). There is nothing wrong with that. Linkin Park, an established band and one of the best selling artist of the 2000s, covered Adele's song last year and its one of the best covers I've heard.
