What I didn't like about TC was the production. Not only the songs weren't spectacular but most of them sounded like karaoke covers, as if Céline was singing to a track.

Back to this album, anyone else thinks her voice during the verses from ALWAYS BE YOUR GIRL could belong to a LTAL song?

Man hear you go hatin' on my album. I'm going to let it go, but I agree voice went another direction on this album.

I don't have the songs yet and I am not going to get them until the album is out or maybe not but I agree a Celine has impressed me with what she did vocally on this album. Her voice has matured and she just does different things with it. I love it. It's a step above TC but other than that it's too soon to tell.

I'm sorry LOL. I guess I just adore when she experiments with her voice, but with TC she kept it pretty much conservative and it became MONOTONE through the 16 tracks! But I honestly I fully respect your views and respect that "TC" is your album... BTW we usually agree here on this forum, LOL so we can disagree on this 1 issue LOL!

I'm sorry to fans of "TC album" what I have heard from the LMBTL album is isn't even remotely in the same league as TC.

The songs on "Taking Chances" were BLAHH and her voice was at one of the weakest moments of her career. I can't believe how much power she has regained in her voice again!!! Whoever is her vocal coach, that she said she started using again deserves a gold metal because her voice has gained so much strength and colors since 2007 NOT to mention much more fullness.

This is so true. Despite her using the grandma voice quite prominently on this album, you can hear that her tone is now back to its fuller, warmer state as opposed to the dull, tired voice on TC. What's interesting is that on TC, she belts a lot higher, but it was largely a lot of yelps and screams, as if she wanted to employ vocal fireworks to compensate for the lack of true resonance or quality. We can actually tell that they doctored her voice up quite a bit on that album, smoothed out certain upper belts and made them fuller. The big notes on this album, while more rare, have genuine power. This album is not as understated vocally as SA (of course, as it's American) but she doesn't go crazy with the high notes either for the most part

I guess so. Not everyone gonna like my album anyway. it's fine. Maybe one day I will see your point. Btw we had this same sort argument last Sunday.

Due to the low quality of the leaked tracks, I will just listen them once as a preview of the album, then I'll wait for the album out ;)

Or it'll ruin my impression of the songs

It's becoming a Sunday night tradition?! AND it's not a argument just a civil discussion of which we agree to disagree! But wouldn't you say we agree a lot too? I find myself "liking" a lot of your posts here!

Yea civil discussion is more like it true. Almost a light argument but it wasn't heated. Mainly I should have said it was a disagreement.

Yea we do tend to agree with each others posts. True! I don't disagree with you at all except for the TC stuff but that is fine. Not everyone is going to like that album.

Btw I meant that LMBTL she took it to another direction vocally.

I'm only halfway through these eight songs and I'm completely floored. There are elements to this album that the Amazon snippets didn't even HINT at. Every song is surprising me. I'm going to reserve my full review for when we have the full thing on hand, but I can't even at this album right now.

Me too! I really like Save Your Soul. It's funky, upbeat, hip-hop/r&bish... A similar vein to Treat Her Like a Lady... But it's not cheesy! --Sorry guys, I always thought THLAL was kinda cheesy. Save Your Soul reminds me of a little of something I'd expect from Lorde.

Embarrassing: First time I heard Always Be Your Girl, I thought she said, "You'll always be the first one in my breast" before I realized it was "prayers" (she said prayer a little oddly). Headdesk.

Oh probably not old enough but they still use the term "kool aid" politically tho. They used it a lot after Obama got elected. Thanks for the example. I kind of thought it was that I just wasn't sure.

The Kool-Aid reference with Obama was not the way I think you are thinking lol....

Anyway...The Red Heads, I'm sure they had some kind of permission from SONY to stream the album. They often get exclusives. It's not about who's a bigger fan, who's a more important fan. The thing here is that we are NOT allowed to post leaks to official material here on the forum. Plain and simple. It's not about losing the Red Heads trust in other fans, it's not about limiting the sales of the album (believe me, this leak will not hurt album sales AT ALL) It's about the forum getting in trouble for having such things posted, and possibly being shut down. We need to respect that as it is a rule printed in the forum rules.

Lol I thought she said "breast" too. Lol. Thanks for clearing that up.

Let's not lose our heads. :sofunny:

But honestly, it's true. There are moods on this album that I would say we haven't had since A New Day Has Come. Just that these songs are really given space to breathe. And there's such a breezy, refreshing, renewing spirit in this album, like walking into the ocean. I get that feeling from ANDHC too.

I wasn't saying that it meant that. I just told her that the Kool Aid reference is also used politically. I know she meant brainwashing or something around those lines.

Btw I voted for Obama so I don't mean that in some bad way.

Celine also supports Obama (2008):

She says, "I don't get too involved in politics. But I'm happy that Obama will be the President. I think he's extremely smart and the kind of leader that inspires people and gives people hope for better things in the world.

"Right now, it seems that this is very much needed in our lives. I wasn't bothered that a woman didn't get into the White House. The most important thing is that the right person is there. I think Obama is the right choice."

Cool. That's great that Celine was happy about Obama getting elected! Thanks for sharing!

"Drink the Kool-Aid" is used politically yes...but when Obama was elected, the political "brainwashing" way is not the way it was being used lol...it was being used in a derogatory way.

I know. The conservative media used it a lot back then just like they use "Obamacare".

Ok I misused the reference. I shouldn't of brought it up but that's what it reminded me of.

I wasn't saying that it meant that or that's what I thought it was but just brainwashing.
