Same thing. Only difference is it flows, the theme continues, is uninterrupted. I can't think of any album where this has ever struck me, or been important to me. All I care about is whether I like the song or not.

And like others have said celine's theme has always been love. Life, loss etc is all part of love.

I'm to the point where I just want her to buy out her contract at Caesars Palace and not return to Vegas ever again, except to perform one or two nights as part of a tour, promotional or otherwise. The performances which have been outside of Vegas have proven she is so done with the whole Vegas thing. The amount of energy and happiness which exudes from her while away from Caesars Palace is incredible. (Pardon the pun.) I really do wonder what the Asian setlist was going to be like. I bet it was going to be glorious and a breath of fresh air for Celine and her band. Hopefully she and they will get the chance to make it happen in the near future.

The Asia tour I think would have been everything, everyone wanted for an Anglophone set list. Just like the mini French tour, let's be honest that was probably one of her best runs of shows in a very long time. It was a true Francophone set list, had songs she didn't perform much "tout l'or des hommes" she performed more than just the singles from Sans Attendre. I just really, really want Breakaway performed live.

For some reason, I have a feeling that Celine is going to perform "My Heart Will Go On" live from now on. (Please don't hate, but we all know that it's lipsynced!) I think the song has and will take on a new meaning for her. It's going to become an anthem, telling everyone that she'll be okay if and when, Rene is no longer with her. I think, for her, she will perform that song with every emotion when Rene is at her shows. She's going to sing it for Rene, so he knows that she'll go on, and that she will be strong enough without him for their kids. I always felt that the song evolved with her as she aged, and now, it's taking on a new evolution.

I would think she could easily do the first two verses and choruses live, no problem. But the third one, if she's doing the water screen stil, I could see how it would be a little stressful trying not to fall off the platform... Yall know what I am getting at? Just like lipsynch might not stress her about staying in the platform area or not getting in the screen of water.

It may be semantics, but "Theme" and "Continuity" are not the same thing. A "theme" of a show could be uptempo songs. However, not all uptempo songs would work well together in the same show. That is where "continuity" comes into play.

Songs from Old Vegas Show removed are: Open Arms, Mr. Paganini, Lullabye, The Reason, James Bond Medley, and Overjoyed. Didn't really think of any special effets, I keep the hologram for the Celine-Celine duet, which is really great to see in person. I also kept At Seventeen, she clearly loves it. The rest of the Vegas songs deleted are covers, unless The Reason which is 95% playback anyway. Songs in red would be in playback for sure.

 

Songs ADDED for the show are: I'm Alive, To Love You More, Immortality, Loved Me Back To Life, Taking Chances, I Drove All Night, That's The Way It Is.

 

So, total of 20 songs, show length of about 100 minutes.

 

I think it would be one hell of a show! What do you think guys?

So, I did some math about the setlist. If we go with the setlist right before the break which was 17 songs and take the maximum 40% changes to the show, that equals out to 7 songs if we assume that the medleys count as 1 song. However, if we count the songs in the medleys as individual songs, that takes the count up to 21 songs and the songs changed would equal out to 8 songs. Let's also assume that the following songs are staying: MHWGO, LCMM, RDMH, BYLM, IACBTMN, TPOL, ABM, B&TB, WDMHBN and a French song. That's 10 songs which equals out to 60% of the show if we're going with 17 songs. Now, let's assume that we're going with the 21 song scenario and assume the following songs are staying: MHWGO, LCMM, RDMH, BYLM, IACBTMN, TPOL, ABM, B&TB, WDMHBN, a French song, HDYKTMP, The Reason and Lullabye/At Seventeen/A song from LMBTL (One of those 3). I like it! I could see a few things go another way- but I could so see it similar to this. I would love if it was like this! Especially Thankful as the opener

I'm excited Celine said there will be 30-40 percent change in the show. And honestly, I hope there's even more! Maybe once they really dive into rehearsals, everyone in her team will feel excited and they'll change more than they anticipated.

 

I wouldn't mind more spectacle in the show. I absolutely live for Celine on huge elevated platforms. That's where a diva should exist. And since she doesn't dance, she might as well be several feet in the air -- looming above us like a goddess!!!

 

I hope they make changes where it really counts: like a new opening number, more Celine songs, more spectacle. It needs to feel fresh and new both for the audience and for Celine.

I know what you mean. I think a lot of artists (Barbra Streisand, etc.) can sound like robots with their scripted speech. It's always so refreshing when it feels like the show is in the moment. But I can't imagine how hard that must be night after night after night. I'm sure it's easier to just "phone in" some performances.

I think that's the curse from Vegas. I didn't feel that at all at any of the recent French shows! A real concert will always be different than a residential show...

I think if she tried to change it, she'd throw the timing off. You know those shows are always down to the second planned. I feel like her planners would be like just stick to this speech.
