Changes to the show?

I know what you mean. I think a lot of artists (Barbra Streisand, etc.) can sound like robots with their scripted speech. It's always so refreshing when it feels like the show is in the moment. But I can't imagine how hard that must be night after night after night. I'm sure it's easier to just "phone in" some performances.

I think that's the curse from Vegas. I didn't feel that at all at any of the recent French shows! A real concert will always be different than a residential show...

I think if she tried to change it, she'd throw the timing off. You know those shows are always down to the second planned. I feel like her planners would be like just stick to this speech.

Yes, I agree with you all. I understand why but can you imagine though............... it had to be hard. That's probably why it was robotic at times. The poor band/orch. also.

If you watch the little speech she gives at the beginning of Edison, I swear she is about to go into her Vegas speech! :lmao:

I imagine she would change that robotic speech, although I did understand why it had to be scripted.... I would love a new, fresh talk with each show. I would love more audience interaction. I honestly felt sometimes she just wasn't there...... (and this was back before Rene's issues)

The speeches could still be scripted but not down to word for word. When I saw Shania vs her show DVD there were differences in the speeches but it was all somewhat similar. Celine is literally the same word for word. She needs to make give it a more personal touch and not to scripted. I know that can be difficult when it's not your maternal language, however it adds a personal element to the show which I find sometimes is not there. It's more natural in her French shows.

I agree...to a degree. Songs such as "The Power Of Love" and "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" have become more or less "hers", but they are still technically covers. The poster whom I was respond to didn't specify which type of covers. All they said was that there were "no covers" in the list provided in a previous post. That was technically inaccurate. I was simply addressing that inaccuracy.

I disagree I believe techincally yes they are covers, but songs like:

1. All By Myself

2. I Drove All night

3. It's All Coming Back To Me Now

4. Taking Chances

5. If You Asked Me To

6. The Power of Love

^ all of these songs are very popular Celine songs l, all probably more successful by Celine than by the original artist. Also do you then consider " Loved Me Back To Life" a cover it was recorded by SIA as a demo, if that's the case any song not written by Celine ( which is all lol) is a cover. I don't agree with that theory.

However songs like:

1. Goldfinger

2. Me Paganini

3. Open Arms

4. Alone

5. Dance with my father

6. It's a mans World

And even

7. River Deep Mountain High

All of these I DO consider covers, because they aren't as popular as the original artist' versions.

Also those songs didn't play a HUGE role in her career, making them a Celine Classic.

Maybe I'm crazy but songs like "it's all coming back to me now" , " the power of love" and " all by myself" will always be Celine's song even if one was recorded by Meatloaf , one by Jennifer Rush and the other by Eric Carmen, to me they earned their spot in a setlist of her shows for 2 reasons the first being fans and non fans associate them with Celine, and 2 they expect to hear those songs at her concert.

yeah i loved that version of ltal. i really do think accoustic would work for celine. the edison ballroom really had that intimate accoustic feel to the concert. people where stood litterally right at the stage. was hoping that show was going to be released in its entirity on dvd

There are some hits, some real gems and some real classics! No medleys, no shortened songs! Putting together this list, makes you realise how diverse the title songs of all her albums are!

At this point -- with all that Celine's going through -- I don't really care if it's the exact same show or not. Granted, Celine herself said there will be changes. But does it really matter right now?

I'd be fine if the curtain opened and she just stood there while we applauded for an hour and a half. ^_^

the only thing they are doing till now is neglecting the early 90's material like Unison+ CD+TCOML and all new material that came after 2002 :cry:

her career is focus mainly on her material from 1996-2002
