Everyone (almost everyone) focuses so much on the negative all the time. Tonight Celine's performace was supposed to be a tribute to those who have passed away in the film industry this past year. I am sure that both her and Rene were well aware that her voice would be the backdrop of the montage. How about just focusing on the fact that Celine did what she did best..... she SANG the song beautifully!! I agree with you about the negativity here but this entrance on stage seemed a bit strange.Of course her voice was going to be the backdrop of this segment, but the non introduction was just plain wrong and insulting and a bit awkward. Like everyone else, she just deserved a dignified introduction. A simple and subdued, "Ladies and Gentlement, Celine Dion" would have been perfect. Thats my only gripe. Like an after thought, they thanked her AFTER the commercial break. She was just stunning in the performance, beautiful. I hope we hear more about this to settle it all. Classic elegance, and that voice, it's as un-nasal as it has been in years! 2. So far she's getting good reviews from fashions sites...I thought she looked lovely. BUT 3. The stream of hateful comments she's been getting on twitter and elsewhere online is so infuriating. It's not even about her performance, just a knee-jerk reaction they have to her in general.
