Bellamy Posted February 22, 2011 at 11:25 PM Posted February 22, 2011 at 11:25 PM I also liked Lullaby a lot...although the song isn't as powerful as If I Could, I can very well see it as an emotional part of the show!I think she won't beat her chest like in If I Could. I thought there should have been more intricate piano playing, more low notes, more actual chords. It sounded like an intermediate player, even though I know it's the person who's been doing it with her for a while.I can't stop playing the darn lullaby song. I'm going to learn it cause that's how I do it with new songs, I hear it, it gets in my freaking head, and I play it until I learn it and can contain the melody on my own without needing to hear it from outside myself again. But i always love hearing it from her. Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!

I definitely saw him in Cape Town, so he must be with Production J.She never stopped for the fans, because she was in a rush to get back to Caesars for her GRAND welcoming. You're right it's the same cameraman, they also filmed at Caesars her welcome, and in the car to Caesars! Who knows what they might planning!! She dressed like a classic granny in the mid 90's but sang young and fresh music. in the 10's she's dressing younger than ever but singing more than ever the classic and boring songs she can find Hahha your so right!!!Back then:http://static.oprah.com/images/tows/201102/20110216-tows-celine-dion-retrospective-5-600x411.jpg And now:http://www.celinedion.com/sites/cdion6/files/celine_cbs_special1.jpg Anyone noticed they used rehearsal videos from Florida? zuv Posted February 23, 2011 at 06:18 PM Posted February 23, 2011 at 06:18 PM (edited) Seriously, Did Celine ever sing a more boring song than that? Don't get me wrong, she was flawless and sounded amazing. Not nasal at all. But nowhere in the song she goes higher. It was monotone all the way. I don't think she ever did that. "Come to Me", "Baby Close Your Eye", "If I could", "My Precious One" (slowest songs of Miracle + the rest of them) all have a part where she goes pretty high. Even "At Seventeen", "A Song For You" and "Brahm's Lullaby". Please don't answer me with : "Its a lullaby you id**t" because what i just listed were "only" lullabies. or "they were talking about babies she had to sing like that" They also talked about her Vegas Show which is pretty exciting/over the top/crazy and again there are plenty of lullabies that she could have sing with "high" notes. And that will be on the show? I mean, its Las Vegas baby, people will go see her and they are not even fans, i don't think its time for her to put them more to sleep. I also wish she would stop singing those type of songs on international TV ... She's been doing that for quite a while now. I mean she's the All By Myself singer, the most powerful singer on earth. Show off a little. But it is was new and not one of her classics, so i'm glad for that Thats My Opinion. Edited February 23, 2011 at 06:26 PM by zuv Quote

But i just wished she didn't sing them on International tv appearances, i know that these type of songs are important for Celine so i dont mind her singing one in vegas but PLEASE dont promote the show as a lullaby. Id rather her sing BYLM or MHWGO to promote than a lullaby ( and you know how tired of the same old songs i am) Quote
Shaun Posted February 23, 2011 at 08:20 PM Posted February 23, 2011 at 08:20 PM I kinda see the point you are making about "Lullaby." For me personally though, it was a decent enough song choice to be performed on Oprah. It certainly fit in well with the theme of the show. She sang it beautifully and sounded great. Of more concern to me though is that inclusion of the song in the new Vegas show. In my opinion it just isn't a strong enough song to command a place in a set list of probably 18 songs. Yes it will be an orchestral version etc etc but I just don't think it's a strong enough song. Yes it will be an orchestral version etc etc but I just don't think it's a strong enough song. I thought she sounded great and yes it for sure fitted with the theme of the show. But I agree with you songs are limited and we want new songs that we havent heard in a while.... TPOL,MHWGO,BYLM,IACBTMN, TLYM, RDMH, LCMM, IDAN are probably all in the show thats 8 songs, plus the lullaby is 9 songs, then you have to factor in the tribute of MJ (which im excited for but still its not her own songs that could be up to 3 songs possibly) thats 12 songs. Then the James Bond Medley thats probably 14 songs. Rumored The Reason and Decarlation of Love makes 16 songs. then im sure there will be a few songs from that last tour probably taking chances and another song. thats 18 songs, add in a few music solos and thats easily 20 songs with barely any new songs. Thats why every song in the show is important to have earned a place in the set list. Quote

I know it won't surprise anyone, but I 100% agree with you Honestly, I don't know WHAT'S GOING ON in Céline and René's heads today (apart from the babies that's right ). Have NO IDEA They're prepaing for her comeback, go to a TV show with millionaire audience, and all she has to sing is... THAT song? We've been getting a long series of slow (and some boring) songs now performed either in Oprah, Grammys or Oscars between 2007 and 2010, which are also her most recent TV appearances: My Love (Oprah 2007)At Seventeen (Grammys)I Knew I Loved You (Oscars 2007)Lullaby now in Oprah 2011Smile at the Oscars 2011 Seriously, what is she doing with her public image?? Come on, she's singing another slooooow song this sunday! What's the people going to think when they have seen her in Oprah, remember her past 2007 Oscars or Grammys, is this girl sleepy or something? What's left of the Céline with the international hit That's The Way It Is that played EVERYWHERE? I'm sure Céline can do much better things than this, right? Shaun Posted February 23, 2011 at 08:53 PM Posted February 23, 2011 at 08:53 PM (edited) "My Love" was her current single she was promoting at the time in 2007. "I Knew I Loved You" and "Smile" were / are being performed as part of a tribute and Celine will have had no choice in these songs - it's a true honour she was asked. "At Seventeen" in my opinion was a departure for Celine. All her previous appearances on The Grammy's were bombastic showstopping moments and it was great to see her doing something so stripped back on that occasion. And yeah, I've previously stated my thoughts on "Lullaby."
