Great to have her back!!! Sounding fantastic!!!! Not the bst song choice IMO, but I'm not complaining. Good interview as well. Didn't watch the whole show as the other segment didn't interest me that much. Oh and does anyone else hate the audience right now... ;) .LOL! Edited by nature boy

How do you describe a feeling??

I agree about the likes and dislikes of her shows for people. I do however take issue with the "We all love Celine "regardless" because it suggests without conditions but many don't love Celine without condition. There are many people who like Celine under conditions.

Yeah, when she does it their way

The expectation is that she pleases everyone at every moment

this cannot be done

and if she doesn't, she is criticized, it seems, beyond reproach.

I notice that, too and that hurts me a lot. I hope she never has to hear some of that. People are so mean to her sometimes, what did she ever do to us, only give us her life and voice and heart since she was 12

Perhaps it is the way in which people express their dislike for certain things

now that I agree with, this is a forum and we don't have to be all loving and wonderful about her all the time, I think everyone has the right to express opinions, having dislikes about a live show is...normal, but it's the way we do it. Some people wallow in it, it's like, just say it, express it, get it over with and move on. If a lively discussion ensues, then it does, but I hope we can always come back to the positive things she has done/is doing

but for me, I am thankful that I have a person I can listen to and not worry about what she's going to say because it might be inappropriate for a child's ears (I'm always thinking about music in this way). Much of the music children listen to today introduces ideas to them that are much too old for their age group (Children are impressionable and are influenced by music). As I said before, whether it is intentional or not on Celine's part, i appreciate Celine's music choices regardless if original or a cover because for me, she is making the right choices musically.

You must have/really love your children!!

But, everyone has an opinion and some of those opinions suggests she is not making the right choices. The number of fans (and her great wealth) suggests otherwise. To each his/her own

For me I just want to hear that voice and anything she does is fine. I do think though that her mother could be of benefit as has been mentioned.

I think we have some great minds here on this forum. Those of you on the analyzing front should perhaps offer your valuable services to them or to others in your area for whom your skills could make a difference. Celine is a very emotional feeling person, but it sounds like some of you here are very left-brain and we need a balance. So I hope those of you who tend to go that way will take this gift you have and use it to make a difference in your local areas. As she does, let's all take what we have to offer and do something positive and productive with it, Heaven knows we have enough people in the world doing the opposite.

She sounded amazing but I have to say that Her interviews on oprah are becoming very boring since 2007 aNd I don't know why

As her manager, Rene is making the decisions he thinks is best for her. Celine says she trust him and the decisions he makes for her. They say that there is a separation between their business life and their private life but perhaps their relationship could keep her from speaking up about avenues that she would like to explore. Perhaps Rene's age could be a factor in some of the professional decisions he makes for her. THere could be so many factors that play a role in how Celine's career is going and has gone. Like you, I like good singing and perhaps early on, her mother could have played a vital role in what Celine did, but that time is now gone I think. She serves a different role in Celine's life now. I think she prefers to let Rene handle the professional side of Celine and she'll take care of the mothering part.

 is this still the Oprah topic?

An angel was looking through,

It was you,

Yeah you...it's

oh yeah don't worry... go ahead and write stuff about the interview...

its just that the topic evolved since.

thats what happended:

Oprah--> Celine's Lullaby--> Boring or Not --> Lullaby is a Cover --> Covers VS Celine's own songs --> Tired of Covers in Concerts --> We love Celine anyway

I guess there's so much that we can talk about the interview.

Now that Celine is a mother, I think the dynamic between her and her Mom is different and you might be right who said that she chooses to let Rene handle things and have a different role in her daughter's life. It's hard to know what goes on behind closed doors!

Zuv, I'm a Celine Dion fan since 1997, like to many people, because of the Titanic song... I was 11 years old and that was all my musical culture... Right now I'm 24 and hopefully people has shown me I have discovered such a wonderful singers that have given to me a better musical culture... Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Jamie Cullum, Damien Rice, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, Michael Bublé, Ray Lamontagne, Paolo Nutini, James Morrison, Antony and the Johnsons, Edith Piaf, Fleet Foxes, Sharon Jones and many more.... So I know it hurts but sorry, I discovered that the only thing that I love from Celine it's her voice and her presence on the stage... but for me, most of the english songs of the 90's are horrible.. that's why I said that I love Celine nowadays because she is getting mature singing that "boring songs" (and that's, for example, offending to me) and forgetting that 90's ballads... At Seventeen, this lullaby, A song For You or Smile are simply GREAT!

And it's just so wrong to think that the nowadays music is just Lady Gaga (in the other hand... she is great) or BlackEyed Peas' computer hits....

Yes, you're right about that last sentence. Nowadays music is either: Lady Gaga, BlackEyed Peas' computer hits or.... emotionally detached songs which come from the head instead of the heart (which some people call 'mature' music, since they call themselves mature). That is the one category of music that was missing in this list... Thank you for reminding us.

I think the 90's songs are very emotional. It's just that some people can't handle it and therefore call it cheesy, or worse, 'horrible' as you just said. These people can be divided in two groups: the people who listen to Lady Gaga or computer hits and the people who call themselves 'mature' and listen to 'mature' songs which lack passion, emotion and have most of the time flat melodies. And when those songs do have emotions, they are almost always negative, depressed emotions, rarely uplifting or tender emotions.

Both groups don't like too much (positive or vulnerable) emotion in songs, which is alright, but calling it horrible, or like some people say "it makes me sick in my stomach' is really saying a lot about how they deal with issues like love, tenderness, vulnerability etc. Those issues are very much reflected in those 90's ballads you hate so much....

To add to what I was just saying, in these harsh times we need lyrics and music like this more than any time before:

"You were always there for me

The tender wind that carried me

A light in the dark

Shining your love into my life

You've been my inspiration

Through the lies you were the truth

My world is a better place

Because of you"

Made in the 90's.

Now where are these songs? Where is this spirit in music today?

sigh

Very well said! I'd like to add that Celine's songs helped me believe in the power of love even when my world was fallibg apart. And for that I will always be grateful. Those "cheesy" songs saved my soul!

Nice!!! Very Well Said!!! I couldn't agree more. i think it says a lot about what people can and cannot handle, she often brings up deep things people do Not want to deal with. And I just want to clarify that I'm not talking about people here because no one here doesn't like her...My guess is anyone here who is a fan probably deals with their emotions in some way and she may be part of that.

I totally think we need lyrics like this now. She has been, if you all can believe this, a huge influence on me as a songwriter. I have songs I could see her singing, I wrote a song in fact about what it would be like to meet her. I feel I have kept the same emotional openness/vulnerability/tenderness she has opened in me. Celine has opened doors to discovering emotional truths about me, and has helped me discover how things in my past have affected me. It's funny, I often feel like the sappiest one of us all here on this list because as this topic began I was talking about how my Mother squashed my creativity and excitement as a kid, and I felt really out of place for saying that here. People don't talk about their "inner child" here, that's usually way too deep and over heads for a place like here. But she brings all that up and out and some out there may not want to deal with/think about that, thus they may avoid her and her music.

I do want to thank everybody here for listening to my "bad mom" rants and raves. I think Celine has helped a lot of people heal from things like this and believe in love again, and for this she will always have and be worthy and deserving of all the love in the world.

did anyone who was @ Oprah and got the ticket package call and find out any info on the blackout dates?

Lindsay, when I first called they said that they'd block out a certain number of tickets per show and when those were taken,

the date would become blacked out. I booked an April date without any problem, as did my friend. I called to check on another date thinking I might change, and at the time they said they had 10 tickets left for Oprah audience members for that night.

It was recommended not to select a Saturday night show if you're hoping for better seats.

So to answer your question, I believe Caesar's has their own tickets for guests of the hotel that do not end up for sale on Ticketmaster whatsoever, and the blackout dates correspond with whenever Caesar's runs out of those seats. If several audience members are after the same date, some will get a no. So just book sooner than later and you should be fine.

They did promise that if in the event the entire show sold out, Oprah audience members would be offered certain dates anyway. That's where I got my impression that we're getting tickets Caesar's keeps for their own dispersement.

Hey everyone,

I have been watching the Oprah show again for like the millionth time and I noticed something yesterday.

In part 1, when Celine is walking down the stars with the baby she says "good morning, hi...Nelson is still sleeping"

Then when she is downstairs after she changes the diaper she says "Eddy's going to wake up soon"

Then Linda comes down with Eddy, and she the takes Eddy and walks over to her mother and says "Nelson is sleeping"

So When Celine was walking down the stairs she should have said that Eddy was still sleeping right? Or have I lost my mind? LOL :D

I think that when Celine says "Nelson is still sleeping" on the stairs, she means he is not "reactive" and in fact she makes him do "hellooo :bye1: " and talks to him but the baby seems to be dazed like someone who has just woke up! (and that was the case, in fact).
