I too think she sounds better these days, guess those singing lessons paid off

I can't imagine who would be able to give Céline Dion singing lessons, and who would dare to correct her. But it's good I guess. She has had a bad way of sining for quite some time now: the overly nasality of AND and the horrible squeaky screams of the TC tour.

I think that what Fred meant is that Celine has a reputation for being one of the greatest singers of all-time - no matter how solid a coach you are, there must be some element of "OH MY GOD, am I actually telling Celine Dion how to sing?"

 

But whomever has done it, has done a great job - her voice has slowly improved over the last 8 years. I don't think it'll ever get back to the 2002 standard - her most melodic sound ever IMO - but it now warrants awe once more, just beautiful.

well i may or may not have implied that not everyone is as awestruck as her audience but surely one can take great pride on having THAT job. actually there were some bad times during 2002 too i think. Leaving your voice totally untrained for 2 years will do that to you (her hiatus)

Oh absolutely there were some bad times during 2002 - but there were some bad times during most eras.

 

I think her voice was technically at its best around 1993-1994.

 

But still, her 2002 voice sounded more heavenly to me than her voice has ever done since or before.

"Rien que toi" ("no one but you / only you") and "Que toi au monde" ("only you in the world") are probably the same song. I don't know about "Si je n'ai rien de toi", I guess it was just a rumour.

If you managed to notice these flaws and cite them, be sure a vocal teacher could school Celine as well.

Well, there is still no cover for the new album and I'm starting to feel that cover of the album "Sans attendre" will be the same as cover of the single "Parler a mon pere". Same nice cartoon visualization, same girl or boy, just the name will be changed of course. By the way, the previous French album releases and the first singles had the same covers also...

I doubt they'll release a cd without Céline's picture on it... Besides... wasn't it also confirmed by a photographer that he or she did a photoshoot for the French album?

Everything is possible, but it does not mean that Celine must be pictured on every cover of her albums. The booklet of the last French album includes a pictures of Celine and a few drawings also. So I would be not surprised if booklet as well as cover of this album will be fully illustrated with drawings by Aurore d'Estaing. It would be something new and very nice!

this small preview of "Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour" reminds me of a similar french canadian song that i can't put the finger on. Its not a Celine song for sure. Any other french canadian who feel the same way?

 

The preview sound like a very slow song... its good, but i hope its not flat like this during 4 minutes.

ugh i hope not! or at least not as the focus...we dont get too many chances to have a great celine photoshoot and i think the album should have one. so much more classy and elegant! especially since its been 5 years since an album. i think that artwork is ok for a single cover or as a supplement, but i hope the entire cd is not that! or ahhh if the album cover was art instead of a photo.

That's ridiculous! We get a lot of chances to have a great Celine photoshoot! Look all around and around, it's still about the same. Photoshoot over photoshoot and then again... So why we could not get the album fully illustrated with drawings for once at least?
