Nmj Posted November 15, 2010 at 04:16 AM Posted November 15, 2010 at 04:16 AM They never have been. I agree the hype around the french albums are always better, she does younger hip shows like Star Academy, She wears much younger clothes, she surprises us with songs like "Simply the Best" when she is promoting a album. With US albums she is much more boring, dresses older, sings BYLM and MHWGO, LCMM over and over again. Quote
Javito Posted November 15, 2010 at 10:35 AM Posted November 15, 2010 at 10:35 AM I wish the english album was as exciting as her french album, this concept movie album in english is really starting to make me gag. Also the songs from Sound of Music and West Side Story Yeah, I lost interest in the theme since day 0, but be ready for 3 years of that show concept You'll have enough time to get bored of those songs Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
Davey84 Posted November 15, 2010 at 10:52 AM Posted November 15, 2010 at 10:52 AM According to a source in California, Céline has presented her team more french songs of her own authorship, besides "Entre Deux Mondes". So apparently that's not the only song she has written during this time. Some of these songs will be offered to other singers and some others will be kept for her own upcoming french album! oh that will be awesome!! I hope we get at least 2 of her own songs on the new album!! anewdayhascome Posted November 15, 2010 at 10:54 AM Posted November 15, 2010 at 10:54 AM the worst thing is that they chose really ooooooooooold songs and it might be even interesting to have the IN the show but it shouldn't be priority on the cd. The French album seems to be much better thought and might be quite outstanding while about the English one I'm really worried and sad. For me there is not point in releasing a cd with show's songs as they might as well release a live album with 2 new songs (like A New Day...) without bothering about recording them in studio and besides release a whole new album... I'll be really sad if it comes to live. The French album, though, is the thing that keeps me positive Quote A New Day... 10th & 11th November 2006 Taking Chances World Tour, Antwerp 13th & 14th May 2008, Kraków 28th June 2008 Celine 25th & 27th & 31st August 2013 20th, 23rd, 24th, 27th & 28th September 2016 Sans attendre Tour, Paris 1st & 5th December 2013 Encore un soir, Paris 24th, 25th, 28th, 29th June & 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 9th July 2016 Live 2017 Stockholm 17th June 2017 Lille 1st & 2nd July 2017 Paris 8th & 9th July 2017 Berlin 23rd & 24th July 2017 Live 2018 Taipei 11th & 13th July 2018 Manila 19th July 2018 Bangkok 23rd July 2018 BST Hyde Park London 5 July 2019

With US albums she is much more boring, dresses older, sings BYLM and MHWGO, LCMM over and over again. Since when is English an invention of the Americans? But I get what you mean regarding the different promotions for the albums in the two languages. It's also cos of the fact that she is more at home while performing in the Francophone areas as opposed to the other. The zeal in her is maximized ten fold and is completely noticed by the general public. She may not care about her english records but thankfully, to some extent, she does care for her french ones and it shows. But the promotion machine kind of stops right after the 1st single, which has been the case for her last two french studio albums Quote
Davey84 Posted November 15, 2010 at 12:41 PM Posted November 15, 2010 at 12:41 PM I guess he meant US Album promotions... but that's also due to the shows she's invited too... The main public of those shows AREhousewifes and grannies most of the time! dj4celine Posted November 15, 2010 at 12:53 PM Posted November 15, 2010 at 12:53 PM Yeah, I got what he meant Well, she will never be invited to the EMAs or VMAs. Period. But if Mariah, Madonna and artists of her age can get invited to "hot and young" shows, I loathe the contacts of Celine's team. The job they are supposed to be doing is just ins't working. They better diversify themselves. But it's not entirely their fault either. If Celine is letting her maternity absorb her career, then she is at fault, too. If other artists and celebrities can amplify their maternal imagery in an artistic way (like Angelina, Giselle Bundchen etc), it won't harm her to get her #ss back to work and not come out with embarrassing projects like Miracle or "nightgown" album or silly movie themed shows in Vegas. She's killing her own career. No one's asking her to work 24x7. Just give a good album, promote here and there (in hip shows and if she doesn't know which ones are cool, she can ask RC to do a little research for her in the internet instead of asking Rene, who's obviously past his prime as her manager) and don't let the album die after the very first single. But this is all going in circles again and my headache's getting worse Quote
Davey84 Posted November 15, 2010 at 01:03 PM Posted November 15, 2010 at 01:03 PM I can only agree, Dhruv, but you're right, we are going around in circles! anewdayhascome Posted November 15, 2010 at 01:22 PM Posted November 15, 2010 at 01:22 PM in the end we will get an awesome French album with no promotion and a boring unsuccessful English album with no promotion either... She may as well do nothing then we should be grateful that she does sth but being not selfish I'd rather she waited even 2 years and release a good album than doing such a thing which would come and gone... Haven't they noticed that during the concerts they are mostly playing songs from the 90s? Then we need sth new from Celine not a new cover! RomualdlovesCeline Posted November 16, 2010 at 12:34 PM Posted November 16, 2010 at 12:34 PM Actually, Celine does not do the VMAs or the SNL shows because she is one of the few artists that don't have a gimmick. If you take most singers that go into those shows, their talent is limited but their "artistry" is the main show-off of their whole career. I'm talking about people who search 4 different attitudes and wear flashy/appealing clothes to entertain the masses like Christina Aguilera [even though she has a voice she has a big need to flash herself and put on attitudes for each of her albums], Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson,Rihanna,LadyGaGa,Kesha etc. The only time Celine appeared on a hype show in the US and in Toronto; it was on her 1999 ATW album when she went to TRL to do an interview and when she came back from her hiatus in 2002 she went to a MuchMoreMusic special where she talked about her life and being a mother.BTW, Star Academy France has been put on hiatus [the show was stopped] so she cannot promote her album via this mean; she can always do a TV special of her show and promote her album... Celine Fan 77 Posted November 16, 2010 at 02:05 PM Posted November 16, 2010 at 02:05 PM About the French album: I love all of her French recordings and I just can not wait for another one to be released. It's good to worry about the sales, but I think it's more important to enjoy the album yourself. For example, the D'elles album wasn't exactly a comercial success, and not to mention 1 fille et 4 types, but they both have incredibly gorgeous songs. I think the most important thing abotu the upcoming French album is that we're all sure that it's gonna feature some incredible amazing French songs (probably ballads, which I'll never get tired of). I'm more than sure that the album will be nominated for one or two Juno Awards, as happenned with D'elles. About the English album: Can you imagine what it would be like to have the biggest-selling female artist of all time back in the international market? I can see a Grammy nomination, maybe I'm too optimistic, I don't know... I see big TV Specials (as it hapenned during the Taking chances Era with the CBS Special, An audience with Celine Dion... etc) There've been rumours that most of the tracks on the album (if not all of them) will be all-time movie classic songs. Maybe she should have been a little more precise when she talked about this early this year, but anyway, what's the problem of her recording movie songs? I mean, she became famous with an incredible Titanic smash hit ballad that every single person in this world knows. (I just find it a little weird that, two years after recording that song, she refused to promote that incredible power ballad Then you look at me that was recorded for another movie) I just mean that, during the 80s, she became a star in French-Speaking countries; in the 90s, she became a world-wide Superstar; in the 00s; she started to enjoy that success she earned in the past trying to mix it all up with the stability of sleeping in the same bed everynight for five years, something she hadn't done since she was 12 years old. Now, in the just-started 10s, she is on the heaven of the music industry, she can do whatever she wants to do. Some of you said that she's never invited to certain Award ceremonies, maybe that's because of the type of music she records. That's just my opinion. Award ceremonies sure won't invite a singer that has just released an album full of cover songs from the 50's... and forget about nominations... The only show that would enjoy songs from the 50's with some old movie footage would be the Academy Awards. And since they cut down the song performances, I think there's not much of a chance for that either... Quote
