THAT would be my dream songlist
I'm afraid it will always be a "DREAM"-list

How is that a "dream list" when the majority of that fan-made set list is nothing but medleys? That's A LOT of shortened and cut up songs. That's FAR from my version of a "dream list".

Because the show would be too long if she would sing the full version of all the songs I would want. :rolleyes:

And I said it would be my dream-list & not the dream-list of all the Céline fans... ^_^

Can't Help Falling in Love as the show opener. Similar presentation (Celine appears solo in the acapella opening verse and the curtain drops to reveal the orchestra as the bombastic chorus kicks in) but more emotion compared to her drab cover of Open Arms.

Tell Him with a hologram of Streisand. This has to happen!

Have You Ever Been in Love. Celine should duet with herself using one of her own songs.

Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi in lieu of NMQP. If there's only one French tune to sing in your concert, it better be your own.

Then You Look at Me to replace one of the mellow songs.

Sleep Tight or In Some Small Way rather than the Billie Joel song. Why opt for a cover when you had recorded an album of original lullabies?!

Sing Declaration of Love. Use LCMM for the intermission.

Treat Her Like a Lady or TTWII or another original uptempo to supplant RDMH.

Am I the only one who don't get the hologram performance? When I heard her dueting with herself I thought naturally it would be an old song she's performed in the past and duet with an former version of herself. For example Ce N'etait Qu'un Reve and dueting with a younger Céline. Then the voice would be different and all. I see no point in dueting with a current version of herself. It seems really odd. :shrug:

Omg....I died when I saw this........

On page 27 of the show program, you can see Céline watching the video of 'THEN YOU LOOK AT ME'!

So they were actually considering performing that song....maybe they've gone as far as rehearsing it....

We should be more vocal!

OMD, you're right! I about you-know-what myself when I checked after reading your message! I wonder if it really was considered for the show or if it's just a slight nod to the song. Oh man, what if it eventually gets added in later on to make the fans want to come back later?! We HAVE to start writing to Feeling, Rene and Ken! I know the song is going to be included in the review on my site for tomorrow or Tuesday.

I do have an idea as to what can be done to possibly get the song in the show, but I haven't worked out all the details in my head. Once I do, I'll start asking people on here for help who want the song in the show.

I think the idea of a hologram duet with CNQR (and using her performance on Michael Jasmin) would be REALLY cool!!!! But there is no element of surprise to that because it would be obvious that it's not her.

You know, if Sony and Celine's management team really do read these forums (and we know they do), I'll be amazed if at some point during Celine's next 3, possibly 5, years in Vegas "Then You Look At Me" isn't performed at some point.

It is the one song that's been requested more than any other in this thread. Surely that has to count for something to those responsible for creating the set list.

So, it appears we have three (3) songs with some sort of proof, directly or indirectly, that were originally rehearsed or considered for the show. We have:

"Then You Look At Me" - A photo of Celine and others watching the music video for this song during the rehearsals in Florida can be found on page 27 in the show's program.
"I'm Alive" - In the show's program, Ken Ehrlich talks about Celine's various songs having a new sound to them due to the orchestra. "I'm Alive" is one of the songs named as being in the show.
"Alone" - The song title can be found on various pieces of merchandise with other song titles of songs in the show. (A photo I took of a reusable cup I bought with these song titles can be seen below.)

I really hope to see at least one of these brought into the show at some point.

By the way, don't shoot me, but I really think she shouldn't sing Ne Me Quitte Pas. It is the most gorgeous song éver written, but more importantly, it is brilliantly sung by Jacques Brel. In my opninion he was and still is the most passionate singer the world has ever known, and Ne Me Quitte Pas is the highest level he reached with that.

But for some reason, all these people are covering it!!?? In bad english translations (I even heard dutch translations) that never, néver, can reach the level that it has in french. I really think people should stay away from this song. It's too legendary.

But actually, Céline didn't do bad, I quite liked her interpretation. (although she sings it way too fast, she really should calm down. It's not a desperate song!) But all these covers make the song a cliché, and that's too bad.

And no, I didn't see the show, I'm just basing this on the bootlegs I've heard (thanks for that) and I'm sure I'll cry my eyes out when I see it live.

I think Nina Simone did an amazing job with Ne Me Quitte Pas.

And yes, I pointed out earlier that Céline sings most of the song too fast. She should hold some notes longer than she does. If she did this song would be super.

And yes, I have to agree with Joe, I don't see a long life for this song in the set list. I don't know why, I can't put my finger on it. I love the song, and I love the fact that Céline sings it. But I have a strong feeling it will not last long in the set list of this Vegas show. It could be that it, as Lian pointed out, it drowns in the sea of covers.

So, to take its place I really wish for ESNRQ - show America that French lyrics doesn't have to come hand in hand with a ballad.

+ Am I the only Céline fan who doesn't like Quand On N'A Qu L'Amour??? To me its one of the most boring tracks she's sung, and waaaay to old fashioned (even for me).

Yeah, I could do without that song too. It was nice and emotional for Celine to sing, but I won't cry when they take it out and I think they will eventually.

I like the English version Cyndi Lauper does on her At Last album - "If You Go Away".

I think it's the best female performance of "Ne me quitte pas" that I've ever heard. It beats Streisand's from 2009, and I didn't think that was possible. I'm in love with it.

Celine has a break from the show all of May until like the first week of June, watch for a change of songs in the set-list... i thinking they will add more hits.

The songs I love from your Dream List, and the songs that I'd most enjoy to see her perform, are "Can't help falling in love with you" WOW! That song's amazing! :w00t:

And SING Declaration of Love instead of having her backup singers do that! My hopes were crushed when I heard she was performing that song in a medley, then it ended up they used it as an intermission. Love Can Move Mountains has been performed year after year, they could put that one to rest, use it as the intermission instead, as you said.

I strongly disagree with you on 'drab Open Arms' but i do think they could add bigger notes :shy:

I have a source that said, that Celine, Rene, Ken and Mego may review details of the show. But I'm speculating about the set-list, its just what else could it be? They will be reviewing something about the show in the month off but we don't know what for sure. :flowers:

Yes but they proved to fail bringing that song live all the times that they've done it. The problem with songs like TTWII and I'm Alive is that they have to play them very close to what it is the album version because if not, all the power and energy of the song is vanished.

If they used the background or instrumental version of TTWII and she just sang the main vocals, it would be fantastic, the perfect version, but how do you dare to do that in a show with an orchestra behind? :hmm: So they still have to find the suitable arrangements to make it sound like the album version or it will sound cheap. This applies also for Céline's backing singers, the background vocals in TTWII or IA are not a gospel choir, but Céline's backing singers make them sound like that all the time (Barnev, Élise etc).

So its with all this small (but very important) details that they have to pay attention to make the best live versions

I'm hoping that any songs that they drop (before filming for a dvd - i'll be surprised if they don't do this at some point) will this time be included in a dvd release. I was hoping for that last time with AND, but we didn't get it.

I still haven't listened to any of Celine's new show so i can't comment on Ne Me Quitte Pas - but i have heard various versions of it. Loved Alison Moyet singing it. :cry:

What about (if she wants to do covers) including her Elvis duet If I Can Dream? That would look great on the big screen. :-D

And also, instead of RDMH - which i am getting a bit fed up of now - she could easily do a different Tina song. The Best would be brilliant if keeping it at the same point in the show as RDMH - but Tina has great songs with the same feel as RDMH. :yes:

Celine should definitely drop a few covers and include a few more of her own songs - old or more recent. The good thing about it all is she has 3 years to make changes, and like others have pointed out there's no dance rountines etc so it'll be easier and quicker to make song changes this time around. Here's hoping. :thumbsup2:

Agreed. I say bring in some songs like "Ce n'etait qu'un reve," "Regarde-moi," "Tous les blues sont ecrits pour toi," "Je ne vous oublie pas," "Sous le vent" (with Garou as a hologram), "Contre nature," "Sur le meme bateau" or "L'amour existe encore."
