Wow that is like the best suggestion I've heard! I would love to hear that live, take out the French song in there now and replace it. It makes more sense since it's much more personal and a true high point of her career. It would also be a nice story to tell the audience. We know she likes to tell stories.....

As much as I like "Ne partez pas sans moi", I feel "Ne me quitte pas" is a better choice. I was never fond of Celine's live performances of "Ne partez pas sans moi" to begin with.

Yeah, Celine doesn't like that song. Can't see her singing it now, after all these years. Think she'd find plenty of other songs she'd rather sing!

French i'd love to hear - LBDB, On S'est Aime A Cause, Regarde Moi, Ce N'etait, and Tous Les Blues would be brilliant - good mix of the 2 languages. Secret wish for ANY concert - Cherche Encore.

So many great song ideas in this thread. She most definitely needs to add some more hits. It appears many of us agree on:

 

1. Replacing "Love can move mountains" with another uptempo hit she rarely does : "That's the way it is", "Treat her like a Lady" or "Declaration of Love"

 

2. Replacing at least one or more of the lesser known 'ballads' she sings mid way through the show for one of "Celine's" songs; ''Then you look at me", "If you asked me to", "Call the man"

 

3. On screen duet with one of her duets "Tell Him" "When I fall in love"

It's weird isn't it?! Was the first thing I noticed and then thought; oh my they must have rehearsed it!!

Who knows maybe in the rehearsalvideos (for DVD) we gonna learn which songs were cut before rehearsed in Vegas....

 

An other thing I think they should replace LCMM with DOL!! instead of the DOL intro have an LCMM intro and let her sing DOL after that!!

And I still think it's Celine's best idea to not end the show with MHWGO!!! Begin with it, or place it in a medley or somewhere in the middle of the show.

I always have the feeling when that song starts: oh yeah it's over pack our bags and go...

 

She should end with some amazing uptempo songs! DOL, RDMH curtains down and then Simply The Best, fireworks, lasers etc etc etc then curtains down...

And then just like with the song Ben, Celine in the middle of the curtains, sitting on the piano singing My Love!! For me the best way to end the show!!!

She may not have actually rehearsed "Then You Look At Me," but instead was watching her past music videos to get inspiration and help in song selection. Why that shot was included in the program is definitely a nice gift from whomever chose to include it. I do hope to see the song performed live someday.

I wouldn't mind in the least bit if The Reason were removed. Despite it being my favorite song, I'm over it. It's lipped and even after just one show, it's been milked for all it is worth. We got a new recording, now let's move on. There is nothing new or fresh about it anymore at this point.

 

And as much as I'd love to see TYLAM be performed live, if it were to be given the same treatment, I could pass on it as well. Performing a non-hit random album track only for the sake of lipping it would be completely unnecessary. It would serve no purpose in any form. My take is that if this show is really about Celine's favorite songs and singing the songs that inspired her, along with just singing what she wants to sing, then why isn't she singing it?

Yeah. It's the most upsetting part of the show to me. Why revive a non-hit album track song that nobody cares about only for the sake of lipping it (I know it's a fan favorite amongst the huge fans like us, but amongst the target demographic seeing the show, #no1curr). It's a waste. And a shame.

 

I don't want a huge debate about this, or to cause any trouble. But it angers me. I can deal with the hits, the songs that NEED to be there, being lipped, but for a song like this that does not need to be in the show, but is by choice...it begs the question, why CHOOSE this if it is only half-assed.

First of all I said "may". Second of all, I said "videoS." She could have simply been watching the All The Way...A Decade Of Song & Video DVD when that shot was taken. It would be much easier to access her music videos via that item than having to go to her past catalogue and search for specific "rare" music videos like "Immortality." I would absolutely love to see Immortality performed again. Doing a hologram with that would be so much better than the Stevie one. I think the Stevie moment in the show is incredibly awkward. Doing that with the Bee Gees accomplishes a few things - it's a tribute to legends, including one dead. It gets in another one of her songs.

 

It could be the best moment in the show.

I totally agree with you. I would love to see ''Immortality'' too! I definitely had a moment when she sang that Stevie Wonder song (the song I skip at the moment), which brings me back to the fact that there is some very random songs in the show that needs to go. Don't get me wrong, it is a very nice show, but there is definitely some things that they have to fix, starting with getting rid of some of the random covers and replacing it with Celine's own songs. I mean come on, she has more than enough of them to choose from. Sometimes I just don't get them...

 

Edit: I think the MJ medley can stay for now and maybe ''At Seventeen'' and the French song (even though I think she has enough of her own to choose from), but the rest can be replaced with her own songs in my opinion.

 

Edit 2: Sometimes I get the impression that the fans requests and complaints (call them what you want) fall on deaf ears. I mean they knew just as well as us that ''Then You Look At Me'' would have been perfect with the orchestra and they knew that the fans asked for that and still they didn't include it.

Yes, and I completely agree. There are to many random moments in the show. I would hate to say that I'm bored with the show, because that's not entirely true. When I attended both shows I LOOOOVED it, and it was amazing to see in person. But it's one of those things where listening to the bootleg, not in person, I'm extremely bored, and I skip over 90% of it and just listen to a couple parts of a couple songs.

 

In TCWT, there was a lot less randomness (but still plenty), but at least there was something fresh enough to where I'd not skip over 90% of the bootlegs.

 

Some of the changes I would like to see are:

 

Lullaby - If we need a baby song, turn to your own album. However, let's not go in the slow direction. I'm not a huge fan of either of these two songs, but many are, and we need another uptempo, so choose between "That's The Way It Is" and "A New Day Has Come"

 

The Reason - To me this is the random song in the show. It's the "revival song" that is brought back to please the huge fans. Let's be honest, the general demographic could care less about this song. It's not well known, and was simply brought back for pleasing the people like us. So like I said earlier, all has been milked out of this song with it being lipped. It's not fresh anymore. It serves no purpose anymore. So either sing it live, or replace it with another "random" song that most people couldn't care about (except the big fans of course) such as "Then You Look At Me" or "I Know What Love Is"

 

At Seventeen - This is boring. And since I like Ne Me Quitte Pas, I won't remove it, but we do need another French song, particularly one of her own. And particularly not one of the same five that she has done the last 15 years. Preferrably something else. Le Blues Du Businessman could be the showstopping moment of the night. It's a great song, and with her voice in it's best shape, I'd love to see it now. I know it wouldn't be a disaster like that 2005 performance.

 

All By Myself - like I said, Celine's voice is at it's best. Singing one 10 second Eb5 live is not going to kill your voice. I KNOW she can do it. Hell, in 2008 the one she did live in Africa was better than 98% of her attempts in the 90's, and her voice is better now than it was in Feb. 2008. Knowing the truth behind all this pretty much leaves me without a showstopping moment, and this is what we could have.

 

DOL/LCMM - switch these. Use LCMM as the interlude, and sing DOL.

 

Stevie Wonder song - This serves absolutely no purpose. As Celine said, she has done plenty of amazing duets. Do a hologram with one of those. "Immortality" or "Tell Him" would be preferred.

It has given us something to be excited about, and all the covers we've had has shown that they really have rehearsed a ton of new stuff, so they could have brought back even more.
