"You Shook Me All Night Long" is a horrible example of the greatness Celine can do when it comes to uptempo material. And to be honest, I don't think she and Anastaica (both of whom I love) should have covered that song during "Divas Las Vegas." There are just some songs that shouldn't be touched. Now if that couple were to flip to a song like "Reveal," "Unison," "Regarde-moi," "A cause" or "When The Wrong One Loves You Right," they would see solid proof that Dion can let loose and has the ability of not being constantly tied down by songs such as "Because You Loved Me" and "The Power Of Love."

"smw", I don't think many singers can sing songs like Regarde-moi or Misled better than Céline... She's as good with uptempo songs as with ballads, only that René and she herself have disregarded and underestimated those songs long ago.

 

They just preferred to stick with one kind of material when she could have reigned excellently both sides of the market

Just listened TCOML album after a long time, and Refuse To Dance is definetly asking to be in the show so badly

 

The song even speaks of an orchestra in the lyrics . René and Céline are definetly deaf and blind if they don't consider this song for the show. It could be replaced for LCMM or RDMH with a small but nice choreography number.

With "Celine" having zero, zip, zilch dancers, I think the song would fall a little flat. I think the exclusion of ANY dancers in the show was a bit of a mistake. Hopefully that will change as the show evolves. (Btw, I'm not asking for a complete academy of dancers like what "I Drove All Night" had in "A New Day..." LOL)

Yes, I think that shouldn't be a major problem. Céline's budget can afford 5 or 6 dancers to appear in this song and then LCMM or RDMH if they want

I hope with the time she'll add more of her old material, possibly songs that she haven't performed in the last years. Like "Refuse To Dance" as mentioned or "Think Twice" or "Let's Talk About Love" - fan favorites. Remember what an amazing surprise it was when she added "I Surrender" to A New Day... I hope similar thing will happen with "Celine" at some point too

I Surrender was in AND at the very beginning.

 

The main thing she added (that stayed) was RDMH, which considering it has been in 3-4 tours prior, wasn't to surprising.

I love that this show does not have any dancers. I think we have started to associate dancers with Celine's shows because she had them in both A New Day… and the Taking Chances World Tour. But during that time, I personally missed it being JUST Celine and her musicians. And I think, if they did include Refuse to Dance, that it could be completely visually breathtaking with just Celine, the musicians, and some clever lighting/visual backdrops.

I totally agree with you. I would love to see ''Immortality'' too! I definitely had a moment when she sang that Stevie Wonder song (the song I skip at the moment), which brings me back to the fact that there is some very random songs in the show that needs to go. Don't get me wrong, it is a very nice show, but there is definitely some things that they have to fix, starting with getting rid of some of the random covers and replacing it with Celine's own songs. I mean come on, she has more than enough of them to choose from. Sometimes I just don't get them...

 

Edit: I think the MJ medley can stay for now and maybe ''At Seventeen'' and the French song (even though I think she has enough of her own to choose from), but the rest can be replaced with her own songs in my opinion.

 

Edit 2: Sometimes I get the impression that the fans requests and complaints (call them what you want) fall on deaf ears. I mean they knew just as well as us that ''Then You Look At Me'' would have been perfect with the orchestra and they knew that the fans asked for that and still they didn't include it.

That's completely right. I fully understand including Open Arms (because of the message) and MJ's tribute but this Stevie Wonder's song is sooooooo random and there are more of them, that's for sure. Even If I Can Dream with Elvis would be more appropriate. Besides, Nobody does it better is also quite boring and MJ's tribute is just like 1,5 song, could be better if they wanted to include it so much

Lullaby - If we need a baby song, turn to your own album. However, let's not go in the slow direction. I'm not a huge fan of either of these two songs, but many are, and we need another uptempo, so choose between "That's The Way It Is" and "A New Day Has Come"

At Seventeen - This is boring. And since I like Ne Me Quitte Pas, I won't remove it, but we do need another French song, particularly one of her own. And particularly not one of the same five that she has done the last 15 years. Preferrably something else. Le Blues Du Businessman could be the showstopping moment of the night. It's a great song, and with her voice in it's best shape, I'd love to see it now. I know it wouldn't be a disaster like that 2005 performance.

Stevie Wonder song - This serves absolutely no purpose. As Celine said, she has done plenty of amazing duets. Do a hologram with one of those. "Immortality" or "Tell Him" would be preferred.

I think this is all the changes I'dl ike to see. I really do like the attempts to bring back some older songs such as WDMHBN, TR, DOL, and BATB. It has given us something to be excited about, and all the covers we've had has shown that they really have rehearsed a ton of new stuff, so they could have brought back even more. Time was not much of a problem here. There was plenty time for change, and I think there still is.

As far as Lullaby is concerned, the change is impossible:P but if it was, it doesn't necessarily an up-tempo song but some child-themed song of her own. Also, I loved At Seventeen at the Grammy's but at this show it's soooooo boring, is just a filler and is not impressive at all. I agree that Ne Me Quitte Pas may stay, it's a true classic but it shouldn't be the only French song in the show then.

The blindness of Céline's team with the cover thing and the "let's never listen/ask the fans" attitude has reached an astonishing level with this show.

At the funniest thing is that they are keep saying that it's the best concert ever created for fans

 

I agree with Joe too, that's not for the general public, at least not for young people and I am surprised because they clearly have seen us especially during the tour and other events and Celine's fans aren't only over 40 (no offense)

I really don't understand why some songs weren't chosen and those covers were. Especially with IA, A or TYLAM. And since I've talked recently to Andre Coutu, I can share some info about them. That's what he wrote about the songs

We rehearsed I'm Alive and Alone yes, but the directors of the show decided not to do those songs for now. Maybe later on but I don't really know. It seems that the show is working well at the moment

So it's confirmed that at least those 2 more songs were rehearsed and also that it's directors decision after all, not Celine's. And sorry, they might be experienced but they are more like Rene as far as age is concerned and they create sth rather in their taste. I think that some young people in the team are needed. What's more, I think that songs created post 1997 would also fit the classical and orchestral theme if they were chosen correctly and carefully. I just hope for some future changes. Don't get me wrong, there don't have to be many but at least some.

I agree with listening to bootlegs, At Seventeen needs to go I hate it, You'll Have to Swing it is wonderful, Stevie Wonder needs to go I mean come on Celine doing a Wonder song in both Vegas shows.

Sing Beauty and The Beast fully, or maybe some of the other hits. I know she's done a couple of songs forever but people want Because You Loved Me and It's All Coming Back To Me Now and I myself would like full versions.

 

At 16 I'm classified as a younger group but I also know that I'm a die hard fan and I love some songs better than other people.

 

But why not,

 

Simply The Best as a cover, it's fun energetic and UPBEAT

 

I also think Mislead and Think Twice should be added, North America likes Think Twice also Celine. I'd also like Goodbye's The Saddest Word in the show, after singing it for the graduating class of 2011 I know the song has power. When you have the football players bawling their eyes out, you've got a good song.
