I read through a few london newspapers tonight on the tube home, and although there was no photos of Celine... she was mentioned first out of the lineup who performed the tribute, in all 3 papers, and not a bad word said..... is the uk media feeling ok? lol :)

:laugh: I was more concerned about Celine and her well being than the way she approached Lady Gaga. I'm sorry, but that weapon in her hand (from her first outfit) and the thing on her head could have easily poked Celine's eye out or worse... went straight through Celine's tiny little body... :giggle:

 

I don't like that Gaga woman either. Why does she have to pull all these gimmikcs... can't she just dress normally and perform normally for a change...

 

Earlier in the news today they showed a clip of Celine singing her second part. Anyways, during that same insert in the news the woman said that the music industry doesn't care about real vocals and the way music sounds these days. Everyone is more concerned about the visuals, which is very sad in my opinion.

I loved the pic with Celine & Gaga, I'm a bit of a Gaga fan to.... after finally getting her.

Her image/clothes are weird, yeah, but she is so talented and I love her music.... not as much as Celine though obviously... lol. :P

 

And was it just me or did anyone else think to themselves, that during Pinks amazing performance, that possibly Celine turned to Rene and said, when I go back to Vegas I want to do that... and Rene raises his eyes to heaven, lmao ( or maybe I had to much booze, maybe...... hmmmmm ) he he.

Celine was fantastic and looking mighty!!! so happy she performed.

The kneeling thing is people analyzing the crap out of things,,,so im not even going to go there!

Celine looked just beautiful .Beyonces chest area is too much in the pic with her! it kinda ruins the picture of them!

Im getting bored of Lady Gaga now....Where can that go? its like yawn now at this stage. loved Elton though! and im sick of Pink hanging out of the roof recdently everytime she performs.

Would like to of seen more of Celine .

Celine was fantastic. To tell you i never heard of lady gaga til like a couple moonths ago and i dont like the way that she dresses.

Pink i thought was good.

I hope that celine does not do that. I would be scared if she did that. you know what i mean.

I loved Celine she looked so amazing and those LEGS...She has the greatest legs in the music biz with Tina.

 

But the tribute was the best and Jennifer' Carrie and USher'Smokey were great as well. :clap:

 

I cried a bit when i saw it this morning.

cause i am a Huge MJ fan and always will be.

The Grammys saw a surge in viewer popularity in their 52nd year, drawing an audience of approximately 26.6 million for CBS on Sunday, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen.

 

The total represents a remarkable 35% increase over the 2009 numbers, which themselves were a boost from 2008, and would be the event's top audience since 2004. Running from 8 p.m. to 11:30, the Grammys had a 9.8 rating and 24 share among viewers 18-49.

Same here. On CCTV news, they said MJ's favorite singers Celine Dion and others pay tribute to him, and only showed Celine signing. Guess CCTV editors don't know who are the other singers anyway. :giggle:

 

here in Canada, beacause we are so close to the US, Celine isn't such a big deal anymore, now the Canadians and americans are pretty much the same here.... :glare:

 

When i was is China last summer, i was so shock to find how famous Celine was there! ^_^

 

BTW i love how Celine gets to sing first during the tribute! ^_^

 

Maybe in the rest of Canada but as you may know it's quite a different ball game in the province of Québec though! In your own words, Céline is still a big deal here.

Céline was the one making the news to announce this upcoming Grammy night. Vid of rehearsals, reporters from LA with Céline's interviews. And they talked about her and the Grammy performance (before and after) on every major TV news journal and in the francophone press here.(She was in J. de Mtl yesterday and today).

I was at work this morning and we had the radio on. During the news they mentioned the grammys and played a bit of when Celine was singing!! :w00t: They bloody amaze me, they do :yes:

At that moment my thoughts were more like : Céline turned to René and said : No matter what some did say in the past, at the end I guess my Vegas show(or Dragone and I) inspired others to do this kind of thing this year. :hmm: Good for her! :giggle:

Did anyone watch Ellen today? It was all about the grammys and I heard that she mentioned Celine. It gets repeated here in 10 minutes so I'm gonna watch and see what she says.

I thought Céline was just as great (in rehearsal and on Grammy night)! :wub: She's very talented of course but especially her voice, stage presence and performances are constant and strong. I think the first part was even better on Grammy night to be honest. She knows who she is and what she can do but that never translates(for her) in thinking she's a superior human being than others. That's one thing I've always admired about her. A true artist and performer like her doesn't need to do more than be herself to be great and unique.

The one thing I thought was different from the rehearsal though is that someone should have told Usher this was not a solo performance. :rolleyes: I thought he was a complete show off, not the best attitude for that kind of tribute when sharing a stage with other artists. And it's not like he has that much to show anyway(especially voice wise) in my opinion. :whistling:

 

Is it just me or Céline's mic is always lowered compared to rehearsals(or others are ajust to sound louder)? It's like she gives it all in rehearsal and they're afraid her voice will cover others or something... Some have not that much voice but it came at us on TV very loudly I thought. Anyways I've notice CBS(like other channels too) seems to have trouble with airing a high and constant quality sound.

thank you ben for that video!!! :in_love: the images were great, but the sound sucked!! I hope it's not like this on the version we can hopefully download here... Céline sounded amazing and I think from what I heard from that video... isn't even half of it! Someone should Jennifer that even though you can scream a tune, doesn't mean you can sing nice! -_- Céline looked freaking hot!! :wow: good choice to wear a short dress, while the other gals had long ones! :giggle:

 

 

not a word about Céline or the tribute in Dutch media, as far as I know :glare: :doh: only a small part in the new on the public channels... it's sooo facking irritating that is has been michael this, michael that... and when there's a tribute for him, there's not a second from it! :doh: :shrug: :evil:

 

 

oh and what's with the zooming in on beyonce breastcy all the time!? I am getting so tired of her!!! -_-
