Out of all five performers, Celine's dress was the most appropriate for the performance of "Earth Song." Somewhat nature-themed, I could see all the little flowers jewels popping out from her dress. She looks like an enchanting fairy princess without wings.

 

Truly, the performance was a moving tribute that will go up in Grammy history.

That's a great way to put it. Although I think her dress was a little too nature-themed

Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, Usher, and Smokey Robinson sounded terrific "collaborating" with Jackson on "Earth Song." And the 99 percent of us who didn't go to Target to pick up 3D glasses squinted and wondered what the Grammy producers had put in our drink.

My eyes are still recovering !! The whole 3D thing was just WRONG !!!

 

Is there a way we can remove Usher's voice and replace it with MJ's or something? What the hell was he doing? At one stage it sounds like he forgot the words or something... Even Smokey sounded a bit lost and JH shouted to much for my liking (as usual). Celine definitely is in a class of her own. Carrie wasn't to bad.

 

Now I just have to get 3D glasses, because obviously I'm missing something...

 

Edit: I cannot wait to hear Celine in ''We Are the World''. Hopefully she will get to sing better and more parts.

I have finally read 26 pages of this topic which you have written during the night!

I have to say that Celine looked and sounded awesome! It was amazing though the performance itself didn't impress me... There were to many things in it. If they had focused on a smaller number of singers it would be better as it was like mixing everything.... Nevertheless Celine's appearance was the best one and as we can see not only we have noticed that:)

and one more thing... is it me or Celine has got quite plump?

To be honest, I didn't mind J-Hud that much... It was Carrie that sorta bugged me during the rehearsal. Then, she sorta did it better during the real performance, but Smokey and Usher... *tsk *tsk.. Bad... Even on BOTH the rehearsal AND the performance... They probably should've left the bridge or high parts to the girls... and started the low verses with the guys... Maybe, things could be different...

Sorry if this has already been asked - but I am not going through ALL 45 pages!! Was there any particular reason why they were all chosen to sing this song? It just seems like such a random collection of performers who looked really awkward together Don't get me wrong - of course I wanted Celine there.....but the others, Carrie Underwood, Usher, Smokey and Jennifer Hudson random random random

 

Or is it just me?!
