Lou555 Posted February 2, 2010 at 11:21 PM Posted February 2, 2010 at 11:21 PM (edited) Anyway, for those keeping score: Beyonce now has 16 Grammy Awards. She's now 3rd all-time. Celine, Whitney, Mariah and Madonna have fewer than 10 each and to think these women are real legends. I say good for her but....To me those trophys (Grammys) don't have the same value they used to have imo. I think they give those away too easily these days to everybody and anybody who's considered "hot".... Many artists (great ones) didn't won many or even any and had brilliant carreers. For instance Elvis has won only the same number than Céline in his lifetime I think and Elton John received his first Grammy Award as an artist(since 1970) only in 1995 I believe (correct me if I'm wrong). Of course, it's part of the business but numbers, figures and Grammys don't always say it all. I think there is also a lot of politics involved here. Anyways that's how I feel about those trophys. I guess it's great to win some but again it doesn't tell the whole story about an artist. Céline may have won only 5 Grammys but she has been awarded more than 1000 trophys or honors throughout the world. I've listened to both performances many times now. For me Céline's solo parts were better on Grammy night and those "what about us...what about it...chorus parts" we could hear her a lot better during the rehearsals(before the back vocals were turn on louder for Grammy night unfortunately). rome Posted February 2, 2010 at 11:32 PM Posted February 2, 2010 at 11:32 PM Okay, guys I haven't posted here in a looooong time but I have been reading everything LOL, so anyway, I feel the need to step up for Gaga on this one... you know, I've been a fan of her music since the beginning, however, I used to think she was a great performer but that she was insane... but then I started watching her in interviews and now I like her as a person a lot, I mean, she's totally NOT gaga when she talks, she's this normal, sweet and very very shy girl... and yes, she is very serious in those pics but I don't think is a "hey! I don't like you" kinda serious, but it's more of a "hey! I'm really shy and I feel uncomfortable around celebrities" kinda serious... I can say this because she's said herself that she's shy around celebrities and that's why she doesn't have many celebrity friends. So just try and see it with that perspective. And about the kneeling, I think she was only kneeling to talk to the woman like anyone would do when the person you're talking to is seating... and like someone said, if other divas like mariah and whitney would not be willing to do that simple act of politeness then this just proves that Celine is in a class of her own and doesn't care about what people say as long as what she's doing is right in her mind. Anyway, about the performance, I really, truly liked it. Celine was flawless as usual, she was a goddess on that stage. Carrie was amazing too. Yes, Usher over did it waaaayyyy too much but apart from that I really enjoyed the performance... then again I enjoy anything with Celine in it, and with Carrie on that stage too... well, it was great for me Quote http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/5142/90074349.jpgThe three best reasons to love the art of music.

celinedream Posted February 2, 2010 at 11:46 PM Posted February 2, 2010 at 11:46 PM (edited) From Marie-Joëlle Parent's blog (the girl who interviewed Celine at the rehearsal)A lot goes on behind a red carpet or stage look. I met Annie Horth, Celine Dion's stylist last week during the rehearsal of Michael Jackson's tribute at the Grammy Awards. She was there to get the vibe from the room, the performance and hints on what the other four singers would wear. She was still hesitating between two completely different dresses, an Aquilano Rimondi (look #26 below) and a rocker type of dress by Balmain. Annie sat in the audience. The 3-D video started to play showing images of a young girl in the middle of a lush tropical jungle. She instantly turned to me and said with excitement: "I know what dress, I made my decision". I don't know what set her up but she clearly made the right choice judging by what many fashion blogs had to say about the outfit.http://blog.canoe.ca/ent?author=248 Edited February 2, 2010 at 11:48 PM by celinedream Quote An angel was looking through,It was you,Yeah you...it'sYou are the REASON.

Ejion Posted February 3, 2010 at 12:08 AM Posted February 3, 2010 at 12:08 AM Hi all! Lots of Celine news even on her break Anyways, there's this show called "The After Show" here in Canada where they comment about the latest celebrity news and popular culture. It's supposed to be fun and satirical in a way... Anyways, they were talking about the Grammys and there was a part in the show where Jessi(one of the host) read a tweet that she got from a viewer saying pretty much that she has a resemblance to Celine. I usually watch the After Show and I did notice before that there were some angles where she kinda looks like Celine. I have mixed feelings about how she reacted and the people around her but I'd like to hear from you guys what you think.. Here's the link and it's on "The After Show: 02.01.10" clip#2 http://www.mtv.ca/tvshows/aftershow/video_...html?id=1631066 Tell me what you think Quote

angelil78 Posted February 3, 2010 at 10:18 PM Posted February 3, 2010 at 10:18 PM IMO Grammy's is just a popularity awards. There is no way that Beyonce should have won that many awards, that she is sooooo much better than everyone else. I think it's just because she's very popular. and Jay Z says that Usher will be the next MJ after the Tribute performance Usher sucked the most on that stage! Quote
CD4ever Posted February 3, 2010 at 10:22 PM Posted February 3, 2010 at 10:22 PM (edited) Finally done reading the 26 pages of comments after like 4 hours. During all of the reading there were SO many things I wanted to comment on....but guess what....now that I'm finally done reading, I forgot about everything This noon I FINALLY had the time to watch the Grammy's and I absolutely loved the tribute!!! I was glued to my tvscreen and I ended up rewinding 5 times (and now the song is burned in my brains or something, I can't seem to get it out of my head anymore ) Initially I planned to stay up all night to see the Grammy's live, but because I had to go too school on monday, I decided that it would be better to go to bed and set the DVR. The next morning I arrive at school, after 1,5 hours of traveling and already a little bit irritated that I had to wait til noon to see the performance, and guess what: the teacher doesn't show up! And he was the only teacher I had for that day ( 3 hours, same teacher) I was so looking forward to seeing this live. I'm sorry for all the complaining , but I had to get it off my chest Now on to something else...is there already a download of this in the multimedia section? Cause I can rip the performance of my dvd and upload it on megaupload if you want. It would be without the 3d effect (from German tv), so you won't get a headache And if you have TVUplayer on your computer (or live in the UK): The british channel ITV2 is broadcasting the Grammy's right now....Celine will be on in about 35 min Edited February 3, 2010 at 10:25 PM by CD4ever Quote XxIlse Follow me on twitter =)http://twitter.com/BlessTheDay Las Vegas March 15 2011!!!http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/9181/81083533.png
