UPDATE: Celine's 5th attempt with in-vitro

I was watching E! News Daily 10 earlier and on the couples news they talk briefly about Celine and Rene. Saying she wasn't pregnant after trying IVF and they said it was sad news and wished them the best, and then I saw earlier when I was flipping through and landed on the E! channel on the bottom of the sceen on the E! news now scroll they said Rene Angelil confirming wife Celine Dion is no longer pregnant that the invitro procedure they had tired didn't work and they have an 8 year old son but are going to try again to get pregnant. I don't remember word for word what it said but that was basically the general idea of it.

 

edit they literally just talked about it right now on E! I wasn't able to type fast enough because they said this all very quickly. They said something along the lines of sad news about Celine Dion the singer is no longer pregnant despite believing three months ago that she was. Then they had some quotes from Rene that were in the Montreal Journal. "We found out some days later that wasn't the case." "Celine and I dont get discouraged we put our life and faith in the stars."

Probably something to do with fate, maybe God or destiny is my guess. That's what I think it is, a reference to fate, fauth etc...

It means that they're leaving it to fate. Whatever happens, happens. They've stated this before in saying that if they get pregnant, great, and if not then that's fine, too because they have René-Charles and a wonderful family already.

yea Jacqui and autmunskies your right, its basically fate they are leaving it up to. Celine has always said if it happens its meant to happen and if it doesn't they already have their miracle baby.

I am absolutely devastated and feel awful for Céline and Rene. I wish the news would get their facts straight though. To say she "lost" the baby sounds like she had a miscarriage but she never was pregnant. That is a different thing. However, I can't even imagine the tragedy of being told you're pregnant just to find out a few days later that it's not true. That is incomprehensible for me. These mistakes really shouldn't happen. Learning that it didn't work out would have been bad enough but to be told "You're pregnant!" and then to take that away from you - that is cruel. Even though it was "just" a mistake, it makes me angry just for the pain it caused so many people, especially Céline!

And if they used that one then which one are they trying with again?? Can someone explain that to me, THANKS and sorry if I sound DUMB on this but Confused here!

I thought I remembered Celine saying in an interview on one of the morning shows that they only had one left as well but obviously if they have tried twice already like Rene said they did and this is the third time then they have at somepoint had more eggs and sperm stored to use.

There was one embryo waiting in New York but they obviously didn't only use this one and created other embryos for the occasion, it wouldn't make much sense to go into the whole in vitro process with just one embryo since it generally has very little chance to work out, they always use at least 3 or 4 embryos to make sure at least one will succeed.

I just wondered why she said they only had one and then they have tried IVF twice and then a third time this weekend, but its common sense that since then (when she stated the only had one embryo) they have more embyro's made to use to try the IVF again. When she said they had one, I assume she meant that was all they would have and weren't going to have any more embryo's but we know now that that wasn't the case. They did have more embryo's created.

The whole "one embryo waiting for Céline" thing was just a tear-jerker story perfect for Oprah shows... The reality is quite different, of course.

 

You have to understand that René and Céline like to embellish or transform things a little bit for the press!
