drove all night Posted September 24, 2009 at 05:48 PM Author Posted September 24, 2009 at 05:48 PM Wanna know the complete Celine cover song list. Check here: http://www.celinedionforum.com/index.php?showtopic=25672 Just found time to check out the list, "Say what" made. It's incredible and phantastic! He hadn't posted here since december 2008. But nevertheless: Thanks for that work. Many songs in there I didn't know, that they were covers ... Somehow it seems to be easier to list the songs of Celine especially written for her. And I always thought that songwriters send her tons of song-material. And then she's doing a cover again???!!! Crazy Celine-world .... Quote

I remember in the days of www.QUEENCELINE.com (R.I.P.) the website owner actually had an entire section dedicated to this topic and not only were all the songs listed..but he/she had both of celine's and the original artists versions ready and able to listen to so you could listen to the difference..it was fantastic. Claudette Posted September 25, 2009 at 07:02 AM Posted September 25, 2009 at 07:02 AM Didn't Celine also record ''That's Just The Woman In Me'' first? I mean she told that story about how she was waiting for the song and the song was waiting for her and that no one had recorded it... Many of these songs became famous because of Celine, and I agree with some of you that in many cases Celine's version sounds better than the original... I thought that too. But as I tried to find a proof I discovered this at Mary Griffin's Website: http://marygriffin.net/site/about-mary.html [...] It Was From This Album That Major Recording Artists Patti Labelle And Celine Dion Were Captivated By Marys Power Ballads I Surrender And Anytime. Griffin Would Soon Receive A Phone Call From Labelle That Inquired About Her Availability As A Background Vocalist For The R&B Phenomenon. Mary Accepted The Offer And Began To Hit The Road On Tours And Concerts Dates With Patti Labelle. Griffins Addictive Voice On Her Debut Album Also Prompted Celine Dion To Re-Record I Surrender. I mean she told that story about how she was waiting for the song and the song was waiting for her and that no one had recorded it... She obviously got that wrong because K&TW recorded that between 1983-84, those who don't believe me can listen to a clip of the song here on amazon, it's track #21 Quote http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tcc2copy3_zps08f18352.pnghttp://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p234/celinedion_56/tccgallery-1.png

Although it was me who started this topic, meanwhile it destroys my beautiful "original-songs-dreamland" of Celine. Didn't really know that it had been sooooo many songs that were covered! Of course, mostly of these songs came really "alive" through Celine's interpretation. But even though - always thought that an arist like her will have more original songs been offered than covers. Do you think that this all is also because of Sony??? Edited September 25, 2009 at 11:06 AM by drove all night Quote
