On French radio you can hear "Les derniers seront les premiers" and "J'irai où tu iras" daily.

They play those on their own accord. I meant specifically released singles by Sony to promote the album. There were only 2 commercial singles, and 1 promotional only.

"J'attendais" was commercially released as well.

 

Well, not directly from D'eux, but still. The live & album versions were released when LAP was out.

 

I don't find it odd at all. "D'eux" was so powerful that beside "Cherche Encore" and to a certain extend " La mémoire d'Abraham" , all the songs from the album are known.

 

Commercial singles used to support an album and D'eux didn't need it at all. Beside fan interests ( maybe new music videos? Which in Céline's case is not at all guaranteed), more commercial singles would have been pointless.

Interesting. Wasn't that one tribute concert in 2023 supposed to be a celebration of that album? I have yet to look at this new source but I kinda think it's sad most of her other french albums aren't treated similarly at all.

That's just so true. Anglophone Céline is not the same as Francophone Céline. The latter is a more human singer.

Just imagine a deluxe boxset :

 

1) CD remastered

2) CD with alternate vocals of all songs and demos

3) Bluray with recording session, videoclips and a Montreal D'eux show

4) Bluray live in Paris

5) Book with the photoshoot and behind the scene pictures, lyrics, letter from jean-jacques and celine
