I believe that's actually a dress... and the hair and shoes are nothing alike. Just my opinion.

She also sang Medley Starmania and "Calling You" in Olympia... She did lot of same things as Céline. It's a bit strange (I would even say creepy). I understand she has an admiration for Céline, but, still, it went to far I think.

 

I was never a fan of hers, but I do respect her as a singer. She has a great voice and a talent for writing songs. There are many good ones (I like "Tout"). I saw her show ten years ago. It was actually good. Nothing more, nothing less.

But I always had some problem with her. I think it's her personality and lack of charisma.

i was loving Je t'aime, je t'aiiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmmmeee. what i found is that she is always tring to show she is very intelligent, that she writes her song etc...not she always write them..anyway She tries to be better in that regard. Now, she insists on the emotionnal side, more since Celine had succes with sans attendre, she thinks it could be the recipee. She has the sme atthors than Celine on her last album, she is talking about her family, her emotions. I don,t hate her, but i,m pretty indifferent.

Celine is my queen hands down! But I do love and adore Lara too!

For while their voices are similar - I see huge differences in them and its those differences that make me respect them both separately.

 

I like when she has covered Celine songs, she plays with them. No point in attempting to be Celine and lets face it, she has the skill and tools to be able to hit the songs like no one other than celine could.

lara said something about a dion person on an awards show that was taken badly. also she was promoted as the new celine at a time when celine was retiring and they were the same age. the angelil-dion clan must have not taken too nicely to that.

 

i would LOVE for them to sing together, but celine has never even acknowledged lara so i doubt this would happen.

Lara sorta irks me the same way Lady Gaga does.

Like, it's extremely obvious to everyone that Lara/Gaga was marketed as the new Céline/Madonna.

But then they got tired of being compared and 'rebelled' against it, insisting that they are 'so different'.

And then they just do it all over again, like they can't help themselves, copying hairstyles, outfits, stage settings, whatever. And they keep talking about Céline/Madonna because they know that's the part that will get people interested.

It's quite sad actually.

I'm so glad Céline has been ignoring Lara.

I'm sure she is aware Lara keeps copying her and tried to fill the Céline gap when she retired (it was just too obvious).

Lara is so full of herself in interviews although lately she tries to be this sweet lady (just the way Céline is) but she comes across as someone who tries too hard and fake...
