Looking at the design and the font of that menu I must say that it looks incredibly cheap, even for 2003 standards. Are we sure that these screenshots are from the official unreleased DVD and not just some fan made pictures?

 

This is taken from the designers (Robert Grieves) web page (from the internet archives, because the webpage isnt online anymore). He has worked for several big names, like BBC, Sesame street, Samsung. Cirque du Soleil...

We’ve all gotten the notices for it for at least one video we’ve tried to upload - and we’re not charging for it. The money spent on getting rights to covers, paying songwriters and people with publishing rights to the songs costs huge values of money, and with every shred of money made after that through streaming, purchasing and downloading must be further split between all these people. And by commercial I mean albums and releases. Irregardless of what I or anyone else says, whilst it's impressive for her at this stage at this time, selling 500,000 copies of an album worldwide, isn't stellar. And a live CD/DVD with even less promotion than an album is probably barely gonna crack 100,000 sold worldwide. Unless it's some mega huge Netflix deal, she and her people would make virtually nothing, if anything lose money. It's a business, an economic industry. These things cost money. It's not just some "oh let's release all this stuff here" decision, it takes time, preparation, money and effort that they're not gonna spend on something which just will not make money back. Also the musicians union will insist the musicians get paid, IATSE, the labor union that represents technicians will make sure that whoever designed the lights, the set and the sound will need to get paid as well.

 

Now it’s possible that, at the time of filming, they worked it all out in their contracts in case it ever got released but, yeah, all those people still will get a cut of the money making it simply not worth the cost of releasing.

The DVD for the blonde version of “A New Day...” was never released because it was poorly put together. It wasn’t solely because of her hair color. Many of the cuts were too quick and poorly handled. Plus, many of the angles were just not very good, too.

The fact is that TeamCeline, and to some degree Celine herself, are just lazy and uninterested in honoring her past. Countless milestone anniversaries came and went with little to no effort put in place to honor significant moments which helped her get to where she is today. They recently tweeted about the anniversary of “Ne partez pas sans moi,” but did they work hard to get the performance that won her (and Switzerland) the award to her channel? Nope. Heck, at the very least they could have posted an audio video (available to ALL) to her YouTube channel to accompany the posting. Instead, we get one to two lines saying a generic message. (And that is only one example of many I could give to support my statement.)

 

Basically, we’re just gonna have to wait for Celine to be six feet under before Sony or her incompetent “team” ever actually step up and get their heads out of their butts.

2 things to consider about when Rene was her manager: 1) Rene was a gambler. He gambled his mortgage on a 12 yr old girls voice, he gambled a $h!t ton of money to create the first residency for her in Vegas, and he gambled away a lot of the money he made. 2) The industry was different back then. Notice, even when we had Rene, we didn’t get a ton of backstage, behind-the-scenes for the recording of LMBTL. The Taking Chances album and tour was the last time we got DVD/behind-the-scenes/giant documentary. We got a CD/DVD of a one-night only French show in 2013 and nothing since then. Those things now cost more money than they make.

 

The only chance of getting that stuff is if Netflix were to invest in Celine and put up the cash to do something similar. Celine no longer has Rene to gamble for her and Celine is not a gambler. So she’s only going to do what she knows is going to make money and probably shy away from riskier ventures.

Same - I paid $250 for 3rd row seats that I got through being a member of Team Celine. Those days are long gone. Team Celine isn’t what it was 18 years ago and the cost of tickets have grown exponentially over the past 18 years. I paid $200 for floor seats to the Taking Chances World Tour in NYC. I paid $750 for the same tickets for Courage.
