i tell you what totally freaks me out. Did anyone read down the comments on Perez Hilton? Did you see this blind item put there? (assuming everyone knows what blind items are - when journalists hear something they legally cant print they give hints so people can guess). anyway, here it is

can everyone reply saying its rubbish so i can stop worrying please! She has been sick for such a long time now. She's never been down for this long before, and its such a long time for an infection or sore throat like they say.

Pretty much everyone seems to think they're talking about Natalie Cole, hence the key words "sophisticated lady" and "everlasting." Read the comments on that site. It freaked me out too when I read that comment on Perez but I felt slightly better after reading these.

SAN DIEGO CONCERT AT THE SAN DIEGO SPORTS ARENA

November 19 , 2008

 

AEG Live, the promoter of Celine Dion's Taking Chances World Tour, has regretfully had to cancel the artist's San Diego concert on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the San Diego Sports Arena. Celine's physician has instructed her to refrain from singing in order to completely recuperate from a recurrent naso-pharyngeal infection which was further complicated by inflamed vocal chords.

 

After reviewing artist and venue availability with tour logistics, the promoter was unable to reschedule the concert. Fans may obtain ticket refunds from their original point of purchase. Additionally, a limited amount of tickets for Celine's Los Angeles concert on December 2nd are still available. Fans able to attend the Los Angeles show are encouraged to visit ticketmaster.com now to purchase new tickets.

maybe she'll talk about it on Jay Leno. It could just be what they've been saying all along and we're just getting carried away. She's not in the hospitol (knock on wood) so its can't be anything THAT serious. I just found it weird all along that they have been saying its a throat thing, when in Ottawa she was talking A LOT A LOT and sounded pretty okay to me, but then again, I'm sure singing is a lot more difficult on your voice than talking. Now after reading the press release it sounds like a legit reason for canceling. She can only reschedule so many. We can't say she didn't try. Your health is the most important thing to us, get well soon Celine!

I've been worried for a while now. She has never been sick this long. I think she pushed herself over the edge, vocally wise, during her last few shows, and made it much worse. I just hope she didn't do any serious, or God forbid, permanent damage.

Now people are commenting its Celine because of the "iceburg" comment. There are a few different hints in there...more so pointing towards Natalie Cole. Yuck, at first glance that gave me the worst feeling in my stomach but someone said that Natalie had an interview yesterday on E! (i think) talking about going through chemo. Whoever it is though, I hope they're okay...or even better...I hope this info is false!

Maybe someone can make an official statement, ethier her or Rene, so we can all stop jumping to conclusions. We're all so worried, and hearing from her publicists doesn't really suffice. Publicists will say whatever they need to get people off her back for canceling. Ok. I'll stop posting like crazy now. I'm just worried.

Mind you, when I checked ticketmaster.com for San Diego there were TONS of tickets left for the floor, lowerbowl.....so if the event didn't sell well, she probably figures why push herself anyway? Hence the whole "Cancelling" and not rescheduling. I mean, if that San Diego sold really well, they'd want the $$$ and reshedule it.

Wow, this is bad. I knew something like what happened in Beijing could happen again. No more room for reschedule. So it means they wont extend the tour any longer than Feb. 20, 2009.

Man, I hope Celine gets better really fast. Not so she can hit the stage, but simply so she'll be healthy. I know she's happy performing and whatnot, but health comes first!

 

As for canceling and not rescheudling I doubt that she, Celine, would do that. If that were the case many of the German shows would have been canceled and consolidated into other German shows, or the shows would have been canceled altogether. As to why it wasn't rescheduled...it could be due to a number of factors. The dates Celine and her crew are available may be dates the venue already has people booked. The same could be said for the dates the venue has available. Celine and Rene may have vacation plans already, they may be doing something with family and friends, or Celine may be recording a new album, getting ready for a new Vegas gig (yes, I know it's all rumors right now), the new Maria Callas movie could start it's pre-production stages (is this still a rumor - I don't know), etc., etc. etc.

 

All I really care about is Celine getting healthy. I'd even be fine if she canceled the San Jose show altogether if it meant her getting happier and healthier faster.
