The performances themselves were amazing and very Cirque du Soleilish. I can totally see something like this being a great Vegas act. She seemed a bit nervous, but it was A BILLION times better than the performance of "Gimme More" at the MTV VMAs. I think the more she performs this song the better she'll get at doing it. It's a "give it time" sort of thing, I think. As for the singing, well I think we all know I should be saying the lack-there-of. The one main critisism that I've had about Britney from the get-go is that she barely ever actually sings her songs. She does have a good voice, but I think she's just not comfortable with it. It's a shame. I can't wait for the album to drop next week. It'll be great to have some new Britney music! - Joe Quote

I expected her to mime, which she did, but the performance just looked awkward and cringe-worthy. And when Dermot (the host) spoke to her a little bit afterwards it was all one word answers like she just wanted to get the hell off the stage! Having said that, I know for sure I'm gonna be a sucker on December 5th and get tickets to see her at the O2. It's Britney Spears, the old thirteen year old in me won't be able to resist! Agreed, although I was sad they didn't use the huge rolling ball and the fire intro. I guess the stage where she performed for X-Factor isn't set up for that stuff? Anyway, good performance. The 26-year-old singer donned a trilby, sunglasses and a hooded duffle coat in a bid to remain invisible as she returned to America after causing outrage by appearing to mime during her rendition of hit track 'Womanizer' on TV talent show 'The X Factor'. Angry fans branded the appearance - which marked her first performance on British TV in five years - "an absolute disaster". Britney also reportedly angered show chief Simon Cowell by refusing to watch the contestants perform her songs on the programme, and banned show judges - Simon, Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole - from coming into her room to meet her. A source said: "When the judges went to meet her, her security wouldn't let anyone past. You have never seen so many security guards. I like Britney, generally I like her music but to appear on a singing contest show and MIME is a sham. Not only mime but mime badly. Also, when the host of the show asked her questions after her performance such as "what do you think of our contestants this year" she replied "oh it's so great to be back in London." She had no interest in being there, no interest in the show and her critisism on this occasion is deserved.
