I really want to hear it! Hopefully it's good though, because this was actually a big disappointment. I've been waiting for the re-recorded version and this is what we get? Maybe I'll feel different once I've heard it.

So, "My Love" being re-recorded was a fact and they changed their minds or was it a rumour that people took for a fact?

 

Actually having a live song isn't bad at all, it's where her potential goes (especially recently). Maybe "My Love" isn't the best song, but since it has been decided it would be the title track, quite logical choice. They could have included even more live songs imo. I wouldn't mind. "Dance With My Father" Grammy Awards version - thousand times better than studio, or "Et s'il n'en restait qu'une" at the 400th anniversary of Quebec City - the same, and there are more examples.

 

Now wouldn't it be great if they put "There Comes A Time" as a b-side on the single?

I only reported what sony uk had told me at the time....but Celine has been in the studio and re-recorded the song based on the version she uses in the worldtour (obviously without the crowd noises, he he) so whatever happened to that recording god only knows.

But for whatever reason, they have now decided to go with this live version of the song, whether we like it or not.....

 

So don't shoot the messenger!

very well said. All i can see is that when they had the finished product in had they probably saw or thought that the live version sounded better and decided to add that instead. Although that's just a thought of what may have happened. Either way we'll still have the tour version.

helplessness, though we all wanted so badly the re-recorded "My Love" but it turned out to be this live version, considering the possible fact that why they at last chosen this live version, i guess it was pretty much due to the emotion, the intimacy that Celine could delivered during the live performance, yes no doubt Celine could delivere as flawless as the live version for studio version but the lacking maybe is the connection with audiences, thus they decided to put the live version where consensus was formed between Celine and the world audience...just my rough guess..

 

Considering as well...this is My Love live....a pure masterpiece from Celine...there is no final production being added but the true real emotion Celine sang with her heart...

What!!! That grammy performance was terrible!!! The sound got off, Celine had to start again, then protested she didn't hear herself....awful. I remember it clearly...even Richard Marx asked the crowd for an applause to comfort Celine

S*** then. that was probably her worst performance of my love! they had so many wonderful and amazing ones to choose from like stuttgart and they chose the jerry lewis one??? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

I think there are good parts of the performance and also bad parts. It's by far not her best of this specific song. I was really looking forward to a new studio version. This last year, I've been more disappointed than not when it comes to Celine. Then of course there are things like the Quebec concert to renew my faith, but of course it's only until the next disappointment hits. I think it's break time. At this point I think it's more beneficial to everyone involved for her to take a break and think about what she needs to do in the future. Too many poor choices have been made recently and it's really hard for me to keep swallowing all of it. I still adore her voice, but it's time to re-think her career path and musical decisions.
