What I'm curious to find out is how her voice sounds recording the exact same song! She's never done this before! (Well except for the double language songs, but that doesn't quite count). I hope to god she didn't just record an acapella intro and then use the original version for the rest though.

I think that this song will be like Sorry for love.

In 2002 was released the dance version, and in 2003 the ballad version, with a little change at the end.

I'm quite sure ''My Love'' is going to fail the charts in the U.S as this song isn't radio friendly and simply doesn't fit in the current mainstream.

 

My Love is going to fail because Sony is going to fail to promote her again. I do not have my hopes up for this one because they have let us down too many times before. Are they even planning on sending to mainstream radio, or do what they usually do?

Well, I really like "My love" but I still can't understand why THIS song to be re-recorded. I mean, to me it would be a milion times more interesting to listen her re-recording something classic, old, like "Where does my heart beat now" (her first american hit). THAT would be really nice to listen to and would have more sense to me...

Uhu! It's really about time. But in a way we know her team are too conservative for that. For some odd reason they have gotten the idea that when people listen to Céline Dion they expect her to sound the same way always....

 

And My Love wouldn't become a hit with all the promotion it could get. Seriously this is NOT single material. But we're used to that by now.

I'm Alive was OK, not the strongest track on the album but still very radio friendly.

I Drove All Night was great, took Céline to anotehr level (should had stayed here, she did a little revisit with Et S'il N'en Restait Qu'une).

Have You Ever Been In Love - no matter how repetative it may be it's very high class, remember Aretha performed this later.

Taking Chances was OK, it was a welcome change for the general public and I believe she got a few new fans with this song, however it wasn't promoted propely and not too many heard about it.

 

The rest is.... well we all know that by now, and most of us knew it back then.

I wouldn't actually felt anything new with this. It's just different way Celine sang it. You are right, it started with Acapella version and then only piano version. The new version of my love can be heard from Taking Chances tour. Well that's what I heard from London and Birmingham tour. I think the reason they decided to release My Love on her latest album rather than Taking Chances was to promote her latest album.

 

It's like Have you ever been in love from andhc and it was re-released on One Heart (although both versions are the same) and another one, Sorry For Love (one on ANDHC and a different version on One Heart).

 

So this time, they are doing it with My Love -> new single + video but it'll be released as a single for My love compilation album rather than for Taking Chances.

 

I always hope there will be more new songs rather than re-make the current song from an existing album.

I never thought there was a re-recorded version sony always said "new" as teamceline, we cant blame them and according to Chubby's tracklist it already said "live version", that's why we will have TCH version for radios
