Just watched the treat her like a lady performance again for the first time in awhile, the one from the 1999 DVD and it's funny how she danced on Barnev, kinda made me laugh. she never directs twerk toward him like that! Lol

Paul O'Grady on Hollywood tonight. Exploring tearjerker films including Titanic. Wonder if Celine will get a mention? 😊

OMG SHE WAS ON IT! 😍

So, I'm in the mood to ramble...is this a good place to do so? LOL

I have been a forum member since 2006...but a quiet one. I would check in maybe once a month or so to see what news was going on. I never had the desire to post however. Often times some of the "drama" on here would scare me away. Beginning this Summer however, I started visiting daily - being SO curious as to how this European tour would play out. I got sucked in...several times a day I'm on here...and just can't get enough Celine. Well, I can never get enough Celine, but I've been so much more comfortable posting here and there and just the vibe of other TRUE fans on is simply amazing.

Back when the Unison and Celine Dion albums were out, I was in 5th/6th grade. Growing up in Los Angeles, listening to 102.7 KIIS FM was just what you did at this age. I so clearly remember Where Does My Heart Beat Now and Beauty & The Beast hitting the airwaves. Every time these songs came on, I cranked up the volume. Although at the young age off 11 and 12, I was not quite big on collecting albums...nor did I have the money for it. The radio was my life though...and at this age I was still exploring what my style of music truly was. Aside from MJ's Dangerous album, I really didn't own anything else.

Then...The Power of Love starts taking over the radio. I melted. I became absolutely addicted to the song and bought The Colour of My Love album. I remember seeing Celine interviewed on a morning talk show and also falling in love with her personality. At this point, I started saving every bit of my allowance to buy what albums I could - became introduced to her French career, and fell in love with ALL of her music, whether I understood the language or not.

Celine has been the soundtrack to my life - I am continually amazed and in awe of her as a person and as a performer. And with this recent tour, I don't know that I have ever been more proud. So amazing for all of you who were able to attend a show in person. Funds simply did not allow for me to travel overseas to attend one this Summer unfortunately, but every live feed...every review...every post by all of you through the tour has just renewed my love for her even more. Is that even possible? I have to say, her Vogue video shoot has to be one of my favorite little projects EVER! This...is...CELINE. She kills it...always! <3

In 1996 I started dating my now husband. One of our very first dates was seeing Celine in concert (Falling Into You Tour). No, he's not exactly a Celine fan, but you know...the things a boyfriend with do for new love. haha He had taken 5 years of French in school...so when he found that I had French Celine albums...he took every opportunity to show off and translate songs. We always laugh about that now.

To Love You More - one of my all time favorites...so much that at my wedding, I walked down the isle to the instrumental version. It was so powerful - that little pause...in the music..."And I'll be...PAUSE...WAITING for you!!!!!!!!" - my wedding planner swung open the double doors to our church and that's when I emerged and walked down during the ceremony. I come from a big Italian family. We have a family friend who is an outstanding Italian singer. Him and another friend of ours sang The Prayer during the communion portion of our ceremony.

Then comes motherhood. My husband and I have two amazing boys. It just happened that I was pregnant with our very first son at the same time Celine released her Miracle album. I played that album non-stop during pregnancy and my son's first year.

Anyway, like I said...she is the soundtrack to my life...MANY albums and concerts later...I am still amazed by who she is...her dedication...her artistry.

While many are sick of Vegas (which I understand on some level), I am very thankful for her residency and being able to get to see her a few times a year. Yes, watching the Vegas shows on YouTube, etc. can become redundant, but, for me anyway (and I'm only speaking for myself), being in Vegas in person is still a complete thrill and I treasure every moment I get to see her perform right in front of me. And YES, I still get a rush out of LCMM and RDMH! lol

After 20+ years of being a fan, I have finally talked my parents into seeing Celine in concert. My parents are absolutely obsessed with John Fogerty. They have probably seen him perform about as much as I have seen Celine. We recently realized that in January, both will be in Vegas. I told my parents I will go see John Fogerty with them, if they go and see Celine with me. Very much looking forward to seeing what they think as they are not exactly Celine fans, but they have certainly enjoyed watching their daughter grow up with so much admiration for her.

My two bucket list goals...praying one day I will be granted a Meet & Greet. And I SO very much want to attend a French concert. I LOVE that she does these Summer tours. Yes, I LOVE Vegas, but I do LOVE seeing her out of Vegas as well - it's a very different type of show. I love seeing her out and about in Paris. I love seeing her enjoy friends and fashion. I hope the Summer tours continue, as this has been an outstanding 2017.

Can't wait to see what the new English album will bring. This is a very exciting time to be a Celine fan! :) <3

Well, that is all for now...I warned you I wanted to ramble. haha

Here I thought you were going to start to complain because yeah there are stuff to complain about (the drama lol)

I agree with you. And seeing a french concert should be on the top of your wishlist. I had been waiting for my experience for 19 years and it was the BEST experience. I hope you get to go at some point :)

And watching a show/concert on youtube is NOT the same as being there. The same is for Vegas. I've seen A New Day 5 times and the Céline show 3 times (in the beginning) and I loved it. Still bored of the videos (except her speech) but that's because the atmosphere is missing in my livingroom haha

One of the best posts on here in a long while! Thank you for sharing! I love that you used the instrumental version of "To Love You More" for your wedding. I really hope Celine brings that song back to her shows soon.

Thank you for sharing this, I feel like I almost know you.

We can all sympathize with Céline being the soundtrack of our lives :).

Your wishes can come true, as long as you keep trying to get that M&G; as for a French show, why not try a cheap airplane ticket next year (hopefully, a new Paris show!) and have a solo week/weekend?! You deserve it and family will understand (plus being a big cozy Italian family, plenty of babysitters available:p).

Here's to the joy of new releases/tours!

Sorry if this has already been shared, but I was just in line waiting to buy groceries and was flipping through OK magazine and happened to find this! Full two page spread of her funny expressions. Not flattering exposure, but it goes to show how relevant Celine is at the moment that they would actually dedicate this much space in the magazine to her! lol post-7917-150215076888_thumb.jpg

You are so very sweet!!! :)

Unfortunately I'm just not brave enough to travel abroad on my own. My husband is definitely interested in vacationing in Canada so I think at this point the best scenario is if she makes her way back to Montreal soon. We were in Paris a few years ago (unfortunately not at the same time as Celine) and I don't think he has much of an interest in going back there too soon. He thinks I'm a tad bit crazy because whenever we speak of traveling my comment is "Well, let me see what Celine has planned!" :sofunny: And yes...plenty of babysitters! We would leave our boys behind. hahaha

Well I hope this doesn't happen since DWTS is the celeb discount bin where fading stars go to die (or desperately pay off a multi-million mortgage they got themselves into in the good ole' days), but one must admit - she'd be great at this.

She'd be great and she would win! Imagine the voting just based on her sheer number of fans! No one else would have a chance. Lol! I feel like you are right though about fading stars being on the show and also the time commitment would be huge.

I remember céline wanted to become an actress also, right? I think they should give her a chance...

I traveled for the first time alone this summer to see Céline in Paris and it's the best decision I could have made. I met so many new and great people and did stuff I that only I wanted and could do what I wanted without thinking about what a travel partner wanted. Fantastic experience.

So now I'm planning my next adventure (Céline related of course) alone :) BUT when other people I know will be located in the city as well :)

Oh she would do AWESOME! but oh no I hope she wont!

And winning Kathy Griffin after what she did this summer, isn't a big win :(

I love this...good for you! Baby steps...just attending her Vegas show all alone was a big step for me. Took me a while just to get comfortable with the idea of purchasing a single ticket, but now I love it. haha This is the first year that we will be putting our kids into private school though. It's going to cost an arm and a leg so for that reason as well, we have to be careful with our finances. Not too many extravagant trips in our future at this point until the kids are grown and moved out. And we really want to focus on family vacations like Hawaii while they're at this age. Ours boys are 9 and 12. They'll be grown and out exploring life like RC before we know it. It's crazy how it just happens in the blink of an eye.

My husband and I were lucky enough to travel France and Italy several years ago...just didn't coincide with one of the times Celine was there. lol Such absolutely beautiful countries.

Wow! Well, I love that the public is wanting to see her compete, but I agree...not sure it's the best idea. Although she would probably adore the experience, it's an insane time commitment as well that I don't know she'd have time for between Vegas and dropping a new album. BUT...if she herself wants it bad enough, she'll make it happen.

Oh yeah it didn't bother me at all to be alone at the concert! It was almost better since I could always focus just on the show :giggle: I saw her 4 times in Paris and 3 of the nights I always knew people somewhere close by so I never felt alone even if they didn't sit next to me.

Just standing outside Célines hotel, you get to know many people and you recognize each other at the concerts.

But yeah family first! Always :) I've got separate savings account so I'm careful with the money. So I need Céline to take a break next year or else I will have to dig into the "do not touch savings" :giggle:

But yeah family first! Always :) I've got separate savings account so I'm careful with the money. So I need Céline to take a break next year or else I will have to dig into the "do not touch savings" :giggle:

So what is your next Celine adventure going to be if you don't mind my asking? :) Are you planning to make another Vegas trip?

I still can't believe this Summer tour came and went so quickly. I miss it.

I don't think I'd like to hear any negative comments to her though ☹️

well I have 3 trips in mind but nothing decided yet.

1: Paris next summer if she goes.

2: Las Vegas in March because she turns 50.. gonna see if there will be a fan celebration.

3: Malaysia and Singapore if she does Asia tour. I bet she will perform in those two places and I get to visit 2 of my very good friends in Malaysia that are also Céline fans.

But I might not go to any of this.. I'm still on high after Paris so I want to do everything!!

I was reading here on the forum about how celine dances well (its true) and that she sort of used her early dance lessons to make Rene see her in a different light. I remembered a story which I don't know much about but I am curious. Is it true that before they came out with their relationship , Celine went to a restaurant with Rene, wearing a wig , so that they could be together in public? And after she was a little upset about what the papers said about Rene and a new woman?

Celine would have a big advantage if she did dancing with the stars

I've also heard that and can't remember where. No idea if it's true either.

I believe these stories were in her biography.

I agree with this. I can't see it due to the time restraint, plus people who can see have told me she can't dance for the life of her. But so neat that people want to see that. And I LOVED your earlier, long rambly post. I too thought that it was going to be a complaint against the forum as there is indeed plenty to gripe about. But I love that you kinda told your story. I love that you live in Cali, too. Neat song to come down the aisle to, and I love what you think when your husband wants to travel. I know people think I am crazy too. I went to her premiere alone in 2015, I met up with several amazing people from here but did the flying part alone and couldn't sit near any of them. And I am blind, so if I can do it... just dropping a tiny seed of encouragement your way. I so get that she is the soundtrack to my life too. When I lost my sight five years ago, she was some days the only single thing that got me the heck out of bed. I know that's dumbm but you try it. lol People think I should be sad I can't see my mom, the sun, a candles, flowers...I am, but not being able to see her is just devastating. I know, I know, "she's a singer, so you don't need to be able to see her. Isn't it enough that you can hear her?" Well, yes, but I still miss it. And when I told me mom I was going, she was all, wait, you're going to see the same show, multiple times? :) Yes, Mother, I am! ;) It was hard for me this year to hear SO MUCH complaining about her various outfits. It's hard as this is a forum and people do deserve to get to have their opinions, because part of me wanted to say to them, can you just at least be grateful you can see her at least? On her absolute WORST day, I would LOVE to be able to see her. I can also relate to your bucket list. She doesn't have time to meet dumb blind people who suck so bad God just zapped their sight, but I would love to thank her for getting me through that first awful year. I would also soooooooooooooooo love to attend one of her French shows. that one seems way more likely than meeting her. I am on very, very low income, so while it's doubtful, it's more likely to happen than me ever being able to meet her. I was a fan for years before getting in to her French work, and partly because I could not understand it, that's what kept me away from it. But now I could care a less, and I have learned a little because of her. So yes, thank you for sharing, I wish we knew more of how people have traveled and grown with her throughout the years.

Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your story as well. :)

I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your sight. Celine's music is definitely powerful and therapeutic. I can understand how encouraging her music must have been through those first years and learning to cope with your loss.

I pray one day you'll have your dreams of meeting her and attending a French show come true as well. I highly doubt you're a "dumb blind person who sucks". Blind is fact, but please don't speak so low of yourself. Celine is an incredibly busy person, more than any of us could truly ever understand. She gives what she can, but she can't do it all. Stay positive and don't give up hope. It might just happen one day. She would never intentionally brush someone off to the side simply because they were blind.

I agree - it's a forum and people are absolutely entitled to their opinions, but it does get out of hand sometimes. And when it comes to her hair or her outfits, I just don't bother getting too involved. Some things I love, some things I think are just "eh", but ultimately I figure if Celine is sporting a certain look, it means SHE loves it and I think that's all that matters. And that's exactly what I love about her. She really does walk to the beat of her own drum. I wouldn't want her to change that. She's classy, she's crazy, she's fun, funny, feminine and fierce...she's a risk taker, she's serious, she's dedicated and powerful. I love it all.

Princess Diana's music collection to feature in summer exhibition

A small case containing Diana’s eclectic collection of music is part of a special tribute to her on the 20th anniversary of her death. It also includes albums by Rod Stewart, Diana Ross, Céline Dion and Lionel Richie – who once said the princess told him Hello was her favourite song.

I'm seeing quite a few other matches if you just do a search for "Celine Dion LP"

Hope this helps. :)
