I think they mean re-recorded to the live arrangement of the song (accapella into etc.)

Celine was in the studio earlier this month, to re-record ''My Love'' - (the tour version of the song).

I think that this general feeling of tiredom comes from Celine´s team (and then her own) idea of making easy money making the product of Celine available in as many ways as posible:

- No videos for promotion of new singles

-A 2 cd compilation with only one new studio recording and the cheap strategy of a live recording.

-A well produced world tour but with one million dates that would make any singer perform mechanically after a while and makes her lipsinch some signature songs in order not to get a mayor vocal damage in the middle of the tour.

Even when you do something that you love, if you have to do it the same way over and over, passion gets lost in the middle.

Why you go bananas over a thank you note being included in the booklet and act like it's a revolutionary idea?! And Céline think it's "a great idea", wtf. If this is their way of evolving I have to repeat my "one step forward two steps backward theory".

 

And when will the day come when it sops being about quantity and money and go after artistic values, originality and quality?! And don't quote, "the best is yet to come" because as long as you put it in the future it will always be in the future, and the future is just an illusion coz all we have is now, and those goals set which we don't walk towards in the now are never reached. (And for those of you who plan to be smart I will already say it: there comes a time. )

I very much agree. She could very well be on an extended break right now after LV, but no, she's going crazy touring for us. This GH is just another extra little item for us.

 

 

Maybe she could have recorded some songs at 2 in the morning every night after she gets back from the show. Or maybe on the rare days she has off. Or MAYBE back stage between songs. She should have recorded her video at the damn ritz while 100's of people wait outside for her to sign an autograph. Damn Celine! What were you thinking!?

It's not about getting involved in every little detail, it's about just caring a little about each of your releases. Even Christina Aguilera's new greatest hits has more new stuff. 2 re-recorded songs(with actual new arrangements), and 2 new songs. With Celine, we get one "live" arrangement of a song(when it's just the a capella opening that's really different) and one unreleased, alongside the same old crap we've been hearing since 56 BC. It's not that hard to just go that little extra for the people who got you where you are. She has enough time to do 40 million dates, doing the same old stuff on her A New Day...On The Road tour, but she hasn't the time to take a few hours and shoot a decent music video or go on a talk show and talk more about her album than her son? It's all about the money with Celine's career now.

 

By the way, I would consider "An Audience With..." more of an embarassment rather than promotion

And again, what's that excuse? That's just like what other fans are doing, saying we're entirely blaming Celine. We're not(i'm not, at least), Sony is just as much to blame for not including unreleased songs. It wouldn't have been that hard to put on 4-5 unreleased ones, we know she has plenty of them. There's no excuse for it, especially considering this album was originally supposed to be something for the fans.

Actually, we might care a little more about Celine's career. The sad thing is, i'm more excited for Faith Hill's Christmas album than for Celine's GH album, and Faith's Christmas album is 9 covers and 1 original song.

For us? Where do you get the idea that this is still a fan release? If it was a fan release, Sony would've been kind enough to put some little extras for us on it. And again, considering this tour is mostly all of the same stuff she's been doing since the 90's, and doing during A New Day right down to the pre-recorded tracks(IDAN, TPOL, IACBTMN/BYLM/TLYM, IYA, LCMM, RDMH, MHWGO), i'm not gonna give her this "break". If it was a fresh, new tour with many new TC and D'elles songs, then I might say "She gave us this new tour, so I guess that overshadows the My Love album".

Again, this isn't all about Celine. I know I talk about her a lot, but Sony is just as much to blame, but people seem to be accusing people of only bashing on Celine. Sony is the one who created the stupid tracklist, and decided not to add a couple new songs. They're the ones not having Celine do more than the minimal amount of promotion, and when they have her go do it, she sings all of her old classics and TC and/or Alone. So I blame them both. I think they both need to get a new perspective on things. Again, I apologize if people think i'm being overly-harsh. I still love her, but i'm incredibly fustrated with her and Sony.

I think we just have to face the fact that Celine is not a brand new artist. Many other artists at the same point that Celine is in her career do the same thing and just re-release re-release re-release. The music industry also isn't in the same position it was when her bigger albums were released such as LTAL, ATW, etc. I think they're really just doing whatever they can to make money right now. I blame this on people downloading! Hahaha kidding.

My problem isn't with her not recording new songs, its with them not putting the songs she's already recorded that haven't been released yet on the album (especially the 2 disc version). I'll buy every copy from every corner of the earth, like always, but I'm just disappointed again by whoever makes the tracklisting decisions. 4 songs. 2 re-recorded, 2 new. And the 2 re-recorded songs will actually have a new arrangement, we already know from the VMAs that Genie in a Bottle will be a techno-esque song. I'd rather have the stuff Christina is giving on her Greatest Hits rather than what Sony and Celine has given us, which is a live version of a Taking Chances song, and one never before heard song. Sony is a joke for considering "Dance with My Father" and "I Knew I Loved You" to be "rare, unreleased gems".

 

By the way, you probably know this, but Christina is a new mom, so I would consider that a pretty busy job. According to wikipedia, she's also working on her new album slated for 2009, so I wouldn't say she's not that busy.

I either don't understand the reaction here with the "acknowledgements" thing of Céline in the book. What's going with that? Is that something new or revolutionary in music booklets? Hasn't she been thanking the fans in her booklets since ages? Ah, maybe thats the last minute innovation in Céline's team or the "bonus content" for this album ( ) but not in the real world out of their brilliant business heads

 

@Lymon: again, to that. It's not Céline fault to have a gang of incompetent people around her. But its time to wake up for her. Nobody knows better than her what she sings and what she records in the studio, so she could have remembered some of those dozens of unreleased songs and put ONLY 2 or 3 on this album for us. But again, we're another step backward with a new release, thanks to Sony

 

And what about that stupid comments on the press sheet? "9 songs not included on All The Way"? What the heck? Its for us to add: yeah, but some of them you can find it 4-5 times in her discography. I can't believe how they want to talk us into buying this crappy release
