I didn't mean that they were all lipped. I just ment that all of those are the same stuff she's been doing since the 90's and A New Day. I know stuff like BYLM, IYA, and LCMM is live.

I listened to that album recently. It has so many good songs (maybe half of it is really great)

Uhu, so is Unison. It's a disgrace her first English hit (Unison - the track) is not included on her essentials albm....

BTW during let's talk about love tour she recorded all the way new tracks no? dont u think so davey?

 

WELL the LTAL tour started January 31, 1998 and it ended December 31, 1999 and ATW was released on November 14th, 1999, so unless all those songs were left overs from LTAL We can assume for the full 100% that she did record those tracks during her breaks, my guess is July/August 1999

 

 

yes she recroded new songs for ATW in July 1999!!

by the way i think it's too late to say like which song is missing or which song shouldn't be in the album or so...

Is there any news about an accompaning DVD of "MY Love - Essential Collection"

I believe it's a MUST, there are so many videos I would like to have...

Also it would be great if they replaced some of the "old" ones with live versions taken from different shows throughout her carreer

that would be actually a very good idea. I can see pictures of all of her CDs in the booklet (since there wasn't a new photo shoot for this album) and then at the end of the booklet, all of her covers from her English career, "Unison" to "Taking Chances"

anyway...we'll probably get a bunch of pictures of Celine and Rene-Charles

Still what is One Heart doing there?! Sure it was played a lot here, but so was also CWS!

First Time Ever I Saw Your Face was only getting attention in the US after the CBS 98 special. (Why have it take up place on this album in Europe? I mean a 2 disc set is long enough anyways, not kind to add a sleeping pill.)

Goodbye’s The Saddest Word - wasn't this an even bigger flop here than in the US?! Dance With My Father - the European audience have no clue about this song, it was performed at the American grammys.

 

I Knew I Loved You on the other hand - wasn't it a tribute to Italian Ennico Morricone, who also wrote the music?!?! Italy was in Europe last time I checked, why isn't this track on the European version.

 

Bad planning, which we are so getting used to nowadays.

I have a feeling many of us will make our own versions of a best of. It is only sad however that songs liek IKILY is left out from the general EU audience and songs like I Surrender.

Dance with my father is only one of the very few songs what makes this album intresting (one of her best songs finally on a Céline album).

I knew I loved you: shame it's not on the European edition. Although I find the song very boring, this is the chance to give us at least something special.

 

Glad there is no digipack. They get damaged to easily. I love the jewel case with the round corners. They are easy to open, but never open by themselves, so no damages possible.

The promotion sheet thingy said they chose the songs because they were singles and apparently only what was released as a single even if it's a major failure is considered to be essential by they-who-must-not-be-named BMG™

I absolutely love the live version of My Love! In fact, I prefer it to the studio version. This live version has made me enjoy the song even more!

 

I would have loved to see Think Twice on the US release of the Essential Collection. Then again, Think Twice was a bigger hit in the UK and not the US...

 

However, I am very glad to see Natural Woman on the US release of the Ultimate Essential Collection.
