You're French, and the French world probably won't mind French songs, but I'm American, and I would prefer it to only be English songs on the Greatest Hits album. I like the French songs, but I like the English songs better. And the only reason for that is that I understand it. So does the rest of the world, and it's easier to love something you understand, and that is why I think it's good that they separate the two languages.

 

I was born and raised American.

 

And PS---not everyone understands English. Every other language is not a code of English. Another reason the US should start language and cultural learning earlier.

I had no idea what Celine was saying IN ENGLSIH at first, but loved her anyway. The same happens with french.

I really don't believe it's about language, but about emotion. Celine has plenty of that

I love Céline, but unless it's an album of thus far unreleased songs (not new songs, just unreleased) then they won't be getting my money. Releasing another greatest hits album with one or two new songs is just rude and I'd hope people on here wouldn't be gullable enough to buy it...

It's always painful to see how mind numbingly ignorant some people can be. Celine is so cultural. She breaks language barriers. Her English-speaking fans should experience her amazing French songs - and therefore, there should be at least a track or two on this album in her native tongue.

I only speak english. But, in 2003 when 1 fille & 4 types was released I was like oh a french album. But, I heard the music and even though I couldn't understand a world I loved the emotion and the power behind the song. Since then I have bought all of Celine's french cds and I love them as much as I do the english cds. They are so beautiful! On ne change pas is even my favorite Celine song ever because I love the emotions I experience when I listen to the song.

about the tracklist at this moment,

but I do wanna say this: I am so confused about

 

that if the old list of "all the way..."should be

 

part of the "essential" album,

you know that,if all these old stuff

 

"MHWGO""BYLM""ABM".........included in a new

 

album with just 2 brand-new ones,it may be

a little disappointing to me or even lots of us

 

here, but the point is this is gonne be a

 

"essential" one ,kind of collection,so you

have to put these great hits in it,or else,more

 

people would definitely ask:"where are those

 

Celine Dion's songs?".

 

so,here is the problem, although I do feel excited

 

about this album, don't you think it is a little

 

weird to release such kind of album right now

 

since it is so difficult to make a perfect tracklist, I

 

mean,the reason SONY release this one is the

 

end(or maybe) of a contract,but not because

 

CELINE annouced that she would not have any

I don't think there should be any French songs in this album. Don't get me wrong, I listen to a lot of Celine's French music, but On ne change pas is the perfect greatest hits, so now it's time for an English one!

This makes me think of how disappinted I was when I bought Whitney Houston's greatest hits - and there was an entire disc of REMIXES! It was disgusting. I wanted the hits - not some trashy remix.

I think it's going to be awhile to reveal the tracklist but, a least we know what are the new songs are and i'm happy that she is going to release similar to "On Ne Change Pas".

Thats a rehash of ATW and The Collectors Series... It should include ONLY b-sides and unreleased material (and by that, I mean, unreleased ANYWHERE) It needs songs that make her most die-hard fans want to buy it... not just crap for the general public. I think the general public would be surprised to hear how different Celine's material can be.

 

But there's another question: Will the general public be so into this new "essential album".

I wish that this general public would finally open their eyes and see that this artist's 27(+more to come) years of rich career does not exist only of MHWGO!!! Oh and this artist's name is not Celine Dione/Celion Dion/Selin Dion,... BUT... ah we all know what

To do a better version of "My love" is really not that hard...I never really fell in love with Linda's vision of this song.

I'm hoping for someone with a more powerfull/menaninfull song, just like we've seen in the tour, only without that big a capella intro, so Radio- UN friendly

I think Celine's big radio single days are long gone. Sure, if she wears jeans that are too small for her and goes punk---she might have a slight chance, but otherwise and realisticly she's at a different stage of her career: She has longevity, which is more than many acts can ever hope for. We're lucky we still get the occasional video. I'm not thrilled about her radio success either, but that's the way it is.
