The only reason why CELINE would leave Sony would be that she would auto-produce her. I'm sure René has a plan like that with their long-time friend Vito Luprano.

Now that Vito is not anymore at Sony, and Celine has released her 10 albums at Columbia (A New Day has Come, One heart, 1 fille & 4 types, A New Day... Live, Miracle, On ne change pas, D'elles, Taking Chances, My love best of, Taking Chances World tour), she can take a break as long as she wants. Remember René said in 2005 that Columbia only accepted she continued A New Day in Las Vegas (not produced by Columbia) ONLY if she would do a World Tour after that and if she released her 10 albums between 2002 and 2010.

 

Now, I'm SURE that Celine, René, and Vito Luprano will extend their company CDA/Feeling to CD Productions. Then Celine could do WHAT she wants to do, promoting where and when she wants, doing as albums as she wants to. Touring or not... I'm sure René and her can't stop their 20-year collaboration with Vito Luprano. It will be interesting to see if they launch their own label, would they still work with David Foster? Humberto Gatica?

I think she should stay with Sony. They gave us an un-needed release within a year of her last album. We should appreciate what we can get. Though, I'm a bit biased because I intern there and see all they hard work they put into everything but it sucks to see everyone bashing them. They asked our opinion...listened to it as much as they probably could and they're putting out an album that will have great sales for Celine. I don't think we can count on her leaving them because she stuck with them this long in her career...her very successful career...why change now? They know her history, she knows how they work...it would be a big risk to change labels so late in her career. I'm sure Darren and the sony uk team have been working their butts off on this iand t's sad that no one can every be happy with what they can get.

 

Well, what's the point to work that hard (personally I don't Sony works that hard on Celine's career anymore - Darren does but not Sony!) if they don't release GOOD singles like Fade Away and Shadow of Love????

 

Imagine if you were a singer and work your #ss off to record great songs like these and they are never released to radio... It must be very frustrating for her... As you know, it's usually not the singers who decide what singles are released. I'm sure they say what they would like, but it doesn't mean the record company listens to them.

 

Maybe Céline and René can't wait to be done with the 10th album/contract and it's the reason why they are forgetting about Taking Chances so fast...

yeah 3.5M is from a press release of sony, also in italy announcing the italian concert, 2 days before ,they said 3.5 WW but of course it is shipment but for sure TC sold more than 3M WW

It's not that black and white.

You're French, and the French world probably won't mind French songs, but I'm American, and I would prefer it to only be English songs on the Greatest Hits album. I like the French songs, but I like the English songs better. And the only reason for that is that I understand it. So does the rest of the world, and it's easier to love something you understand, and that is why I think it's good that they separate the two languages.

Oh, sorry, I just assumed you were French when I looked at your location. A lot more people understand English more French, but let's not get into that. I just meant its time for the English Greatest hits now, and she has a lot of great songs that she could include. However, she could do a few English versions of her French songs.

Well, I wouldn't meddle English songs with French ones. "On ne change pas" is perfect compilation and everything what should be there IS there.

Now I think, it's high time they released such perfect Engloish compilation as well, since I think we don't have any perfect compilation that sums up her English hits. So that I think, the new album should contain 2 disks, on which they'd put her all-time English hits and new PREVIOUSLY-UNRELEASED tracks. Not only 2
