Without them Microsoft would be still stuck with MS DOS Ultimate Edition (now with USB 1.1 support). Windows 7 is a good system that at last is worthy of the name Windows (which is after all revolutionary, most kiddies here don't even remember Windows 95 here). I'm really enjoying using it although of course it has its quirks like the absolute USELESS Aero taskbars and Shake and most of all motherfridging Aero Peek - which nobody on EARTH will use.Its functionality is plain ridiculous, full stop. But overall when you disregard these pathetic Aero features you get a nice and most of all fast Windows system that is no shame to use any more in the 21st century. However I've noticed some people who bought 'upgrades' actually received a full installation which lets you do a 'clean' install which will wipe EVERYTHING. Just follow the map to UPGRADE and you should be good. Quote

But depending on your previous versions of Windows you may not have that option. See below for which versions you MUST do a clean install with. This is not all inclusive... Quote
