Jackson, 40, had put on 27kg - about half her body weight at that time - for a movie role she never got (it went to Mariah Carey).

Her new CD is really spot on!

 

All the tunes flow into one another, big big surprises are for me "Daybreak" which features hypnotic rythm already staring the song and "Enjoy" a truly joyful tune without sounding fake or pretentious. A great CD, one of the best this year!

janet is one of my all-time favorite artists and i'm very excited that she will be releasing her brand new album called DISCIPLINE soon and of course, another addition to my janet collection. it's sad that i have completed miss jackson's albums (janet jackson, dream street, control, control remix, janet jackson's rhythm nation 1814, janet. , janet. remix, design of a decade 1986/1996, velvet rope, all for you, damita jo and 20 y.o.), but i still have to find dozens of celine's early releases.

 

am i the only one who's waiting for this album?

I'm excited that her new song is really cool. I particularly did not like her "Damita Jo" and "20 Y.O." albums as much as her oldest ones, but "Feedback" is a great lead-off song.

"Feedback" is a nice song but it's nowhere near the quality of her hits like "Again", "Together Again", "That's The Way Love Goes", etc.

of course.. but 'feedback' is quite nice. my favorite janet album is RHYTHM NATION 1814. all of the songs rocks and the music videos are earthshaking. i can't wait for this album because DAMITA JO and 20 Y.O. bores me big time! i hope this album isn't going to be another sexual album and full of "whispery" singing voice. janet isn't a big 'singer' when compared to celine dion, whitney houston and mariah carey, but this chick is very talented!

I heard from a Janet fan that she had a lot of problems with her last record company about the songs she made.... she had to do it their way,... that's why the last 2 albums aren't that good... I hope for her that she now can make something as good as 'You Don't Know What U Got Till It's Gone, Together Again", "That's The Way Love Goes"

"Janet" and "Velvet Rope" were great albums. The thing about the latter though was that it came out when Celine was busy taking the music world by storm.
