I mean, they (Soundscan, Sony, etc.) counted it for that event.... not for the organisation itself.. They didn't have to, but they did..

 

And they counted from '87, not '91, so it's not only Soundscan....

Either way Celine definately sold over 175 million albums now..

are you blind ,she did not, it's evident,just take her IFPI and RIAA numbers and there's no way,Asia doesn't cover the missing part.

the only way she sold 175 million is if they count her singles in but in that case than MAriah would surpass her and not to mention Madonna,she'd probably top them all.

SONY had shipped tons of more Mariah albums than what she sold. I just don't believe her RIAA figure. and soundscan start track in 1991, Mariah hadn't sold 15 million in US before that for sure, even not 5 millions.

Mariah's debut is certified 9 million in 1999 in US ,it's diamond now.

emotions are 4 X platinum

she had 5 #1 singles during that time.

and yes what's important is what they shipped,not what they sold,that's how it works.That's how certifications work.

oh i think Mariah's numbers are fake as well..but i think her record company counts her single sales in ,they always say records sold and she is the biggest selling female in Japan ever,she holds record for 4 biggest albums ever there.

but i think her numbers are as fake as Celine's

I 'm glad to see a topic for Mariah in Celine's forum (started by phoebus69!!!!!!!!)!

 

I am a big fan of her and i think that she has THE VOICE and to make #1 on Hot 100 is not just a matter of enlarged boobs or ONE (maybe!) photoshoped pic for the cover of the album!

I am very worried about Celine's carreer. Everybody thought that Mariah (the diva with the most #1 ) has failed, but this week her "we belong together" is #1 after 5 years. Do you believe that Celine can make another #1? Do you think that she has "failed" at Billboard's Hot 100? My opinion is that Celine can't, because pop has "died".

maybe in Japan it's true, but not in asia, at least not in China. Celine is the best known singer in China cause of MHWGO, most people don't know which song Mariah sang or who she is. and Celine has the best selling single by Female artist, and best selling single in decades in Japan.

 

compare OH to Mariah's Charmbracelet. and ANDHC to MIMI. Celine still sold many more. and Celine almost did no promo for OH album at all. while Mariah always promo her albums, singles in every way, including use her HUGE boobs.
