I love Mariah and I'm a fan, but I have to admit that this photo has definitely been digitally changed a lot and that she does look like Beyoncè. But people are saying that the album is doing great on charts! Way to go, Mariah!

Come on, guys, everybody has pictures where they didn't look so good. We're human beings. If there's one person here who's never looked bad in any picture, then I'd like to know!

But Céline sold 175 million albums. So?

 

I highly doubt Mariah can sell 25 milion copies of "The Emancipation Of Mimi" to reach Céline.

Do you guys think that a number one makes a good artist?

Even if Mariah had 160 number ones, she wouldn't be the best singer in the world because she has no talent like Céline has, her voice sucks, her music is so bad it hurts my hears and she has not a carrear like Céline has.

 

Céline is an icon, a legend.

 

Mariah is just another one singer about there shaking her half naked body to the camera so she can sell records.

mariahcarey.com spread the news about a 2x Platinum certification for USA, even if Billboard don't report it and actually the figures are 1.390.000 for USA and around 1.600.000 for worldwide (including USA sales).

So like i said with TEOM Mariah will surpass Madonna & MJ..

most probably her debut will get certified diamond and probably some other albums will get higher certifications since the last time her albums got certified was in 1999.

Celine's worldwide sales according to this CANADIAN site from 2004 are 150 million worldwide just as Mariah's ,so when you add 4 million of TEOM shipped and around 50 million singles sold the number is around 200 million .

BTW soundscan shows Celine as the highest selling in US for sold but that's cause Soundsacn started in 1991 so they haven't counted Emotions & Mariah's debut in.. and not to mention Madonna & Streisand who's still the highest selling female in US..they're all from preSoundscan era..

clearly Celine's numbers just like Mariah's are inflated,there's no way Celine sold 150 million since 1995 okay maybe with single sales but the only real huge single she had was MHWGO..

will never know the real numbers..you can't take anything for granted since their record companies issue those numbers and Celine's is Mariah's former Sony so of course they'll inflate the numbers for her just so Mariah who dumped them doesn't win and since MAriah's record company insists she's the biggest ever they clearly don't believe Sony's numbers.

 

Unison sold 1 million in US & around 3 mill ww and often sales of Titanic soundtrack are included in her sales

 

Honestly i don't believe either of them sold those numbers

yes Celine was big in Europe,i can go and check her platinum certifications on IFPI and you'll see again her numbers are inflated in total.EVen if i put together IFPI sales and RIAA together,it's much less in total.

soundscan track sold records ,not shipped and it's post 1991 so it's irrelevant for comparing her to Madonna and Streisand.even to MAriah since MAriah sold 15 million until 1992 in US.

Unison sold 1 million in US.

I mean, they (Soundscan, Sony, etc.) counted it for that event.... not for the organisation itself.. They didn't have to, but they did..

 

And they counted from '87, not '91, so it's not only Soundscan....

Either way Celine definately sold over 175 million albums now..
