Black Kitten Posted August 28, 2009 at 11:47 AM Posted August 28, 2009 at 11:47 AM i laveeet! but i don't see the point of changing one word of the song (read: older, replaced by colder). but she did an amazing job. not better than Tina's, but a pretty decent rendition. Quote

Nikosn17 Posted August 28, 2009 at 04:13 PM Posted August 28, 2009 at 04:13 PM There is a rumour now that the full version is 5 minutes and 30 sec. The one that everyone has is 3.38. I guess it's a radio edit or something. Quote
dj4celine Posted August 28, 2009 at 05:04 PM Posted August 28, 2009 at 05:04 PM Yes, this is radio edit only for promtion of the album. The album version will be over 5 mins long Quote

rakesh Posted August 29, 2009 at 06:15 PM Posted August 29, 2009 at 06:15 PM listen to the last "let's talk about love" don't you think it sounds like celine's "let's talk about love"? i dont think so... They r both big-voiced singers with maybe slight similarities when it comes to their choice of singing ballads. Ok, Mariah did one loooong note at the key-change part; but other than that, i think their singing styles and the way they deliver the ad-libs & vocal 'goods', are much different Quote
Stardust Posted August 29, 2009 at 06:34 PM Posted August 29, 2009 at 06:34 PM mmm Tina Arena, she is great!!!! where i can heat her version? Quote http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/7105/mybannerglitter7cb00b87.gif
rakesh Posted August 29, 2009 at 08:28 PM Posted August 29, 2009 at 08:28 PM Ask Billboard: Diva Dominance Singles Sales A major point to remember: sales data for Nielsen SoundScan dates to 1991. So, any singles released by Madonna and Houston in the '80s (or by Carey in 1990) only show sales since 1991 in SoundScan's database. We can only guess at the number of singles that Madonna's "Like a Virgin" and Houston's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)," for example, actually sold while they were current hits in the '80s. Still, the 18-year span of SoundScan data is a hefty sample size, and Madonna, Houston and Carey have all released material in that stretch. Ultimately, all we can do is present the figures and explain as clearly as possible the parameters of each statistic cited. With that in mind, here are the singles sales totals for each artist. Nielsen SoundScan separates totals for physical singles from digital tracks, so we'll present the sums of both configurations: Physical singles:17,172,000, Mariah Carey14,744,000, Whitney Houston10,554,000, Madonna Digital tracks:11,120,000, Mariah Carey10,307,000, Madonna3,320,000, Whitney Houston Carey, thus, leads in both categories, while Houston has sold more physical (CD, cassette) singles than Madonna since 1991. Madonna, however, has moved a significantly higher number of digital tracks in that span than Houston, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That should not come as a surprise, as Madonna has been more prevalent on radio than Houston this decade, when digital sales overtook those of physical singles. (Since 2000, Madonna has logged nine top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 vs. Houston's two). What are the biggest-selling hits for each artist? Whitney HoustonPhysical single: "I Will Always Love You," 4,591,000Digital track: "I Will Always Love You," 575,000 Mariah CareyPhysical single: "One Sweet Day" (& Boyz II Men), 2,334,000Digital track: "All I Want for Christmas Is You," 1,156,000 MadonnaPhysical single: "Music," 1,136,000Digital track: "4 Minutes" (featuring Justin Timberlake), 2,476,000 And, since all three artists are also currently charting with new singles, let's look at the digital sales of each title to date: Mariah Carey, "Obsessed": 526,000Madonna, "Celebration": 64,000Whitney Houston, "I Look to You": 32,000 Billboard 200 - studio albums, soundtracks, holiday sets and greatest hits/remix collections (SoundScan 1991 to date)Since 1991, Carey has released eight studio albums, one soundtrack, one holiday set and four greatest hits/remix collections (14 total). Madonna's count stands as such: seven studio albums, two soundtracks and three greatest hits/remix collections (12 total). And, Houston's: two studio albums, two soundtracks, one holiday set and one greatest hits/remix collections (six total). Tallying the totals, here is the average sales number for each artist's Billboard 200 charted studio, soundtrack, holiday and greatest hits/remix efforts in the SoundScan era: Whitney Houston: 3,308,000Mariah Carey: 3,151,000Madonna: 1,645,000 Here, Houston is tops - and averaging even 1.6 million in sales per album over almost two decades is no small feat for any artist. Among the three performers, Houston's "The Bodyguard" soundtrack is the only set to pass 10 million in sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan, since 1991. The album has sold 11,808,000 copies. Latest U.S. SoundScan Album FiguresCeline Dion has sold an incredibly impressive 50,807,000 albums in the SoundScan era (just a tad shy of Carey's 51,837,000 in that span). For a complete listing of the artists with the most units certified - according to the RIAA - please check out the RIAA's handy list. While Madonna, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston were the focus of most reader questions, Barbra Streisand leads the RIAA's rankings among women, with Madonna second, Carey third and Houston fourth. Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Reba McEntire, Britney Spears, Linda Ronstadt and Enya round out the top 10 among solo female artists. And, according to Nielsen SoundScan since 1991, Streisand, the RIAA's leading lady, has sold 20,334,000 albums. Related Article:Ask Billboard: Madonna vs. Whitney vs. MariahSource: Billboard Quote

Modesty Blaze Posted August 29, 2009 at 11:09 PM Posted August 29, 2009 at 11:09 PM These data for the 3 bigesst selling artist according to the Nielsen Sound Scan and RIAA is only for America, am I right , Barbara Streisand sold the most albums, again only in America. But who is the best sellling female artist for all time in the world? It's Celine Dion she sold more than 200 million albums, and received the award for this achieve on the World Music Awards in 2004, on the second place is probably Madonna, for third place and below we can only speculated. You know that this is not a prove right? Mariah has recieved awards like this numerous times as well. Also I like how Celine's sales from 2003 to 2007 jumped from 160 millions to 200. The ''A New Day... Live In Las Vegas'' CD must have been really huge to sell 40 million copies. I really can't wait for the day when people will stop arguing about who is the best selling female artist cause it's ridiculous. Edited August 30, 2009 at 09:18 AM by Nikosn17 Quote
dj4celine Posted August 30, 2009 at 10:53 AM Posted August 30, 2009 at 10:53 AM It's not albums but records. Overall, (I really really really hate to say this) Madonna is #1 with Celine #2 and and Mariah at #3 when it comes to total worldwide records (not albums). Only two artists have crossed the 200 million records mark - Madonna and Celine and Mariah is just close behind. For details, please refer to various charts sites. Just a simple google search will bring it out. This isn't a vs thread so lets not start the MC vs. CD vs. Madonna vs. WH here again Quote
Lymon Posted August 31, 2009 at 03:25 PM Posted August 31, 2009 at 03:25 PM New Mariah demo out, Up Out My Face. It's sung by The-Dream. I kind of like it, it's a silly filler track. However I hope the Timbaland track made it and this track wasn't picked over it. Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png
