Mariah’s ‘Memoirs’ Pushed Back Again

 

Mariah Carey is turning back the page on her Memoirs. Mimi’s new album has been pushed back again.

 

Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel will now arrive two weeks later on September 29, Rap-Up.com can confirm. This is the second delay for Mariah’s 12th studio album. Memoirs was originally scheduled for an August 25 release before being moved to September 15. In addition, the three CD collector’s set has been postponed.

 

The “Obsessed” singer has pulled out of a string of appearances surrounding the album’s release, including “VH1 Storytellers,” the “Today” show concert series, 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, and her Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony.

 

Mariah recently signed with Chris Lighty and Violator Management, which represents 50 Cent, Diddy, and Soulja Boy, among others.

i think 'collection albm' is the better word than 'greatest hits' albm for #1's. i believe Mariah released this albm coz she wasnt releasing anythingelse that year [Mariah herself said that its NOT a greatest hits albm but rather a Thank You albm for the fans] as she was involved in making that film/albm-gone-wrong project 'All that glitters' which turned 'Glitter' [it got pushed back and she went back to the studio to make 'Rainbow']. i firmly believe that Mariah created more hype than Whitney did in 1998. infact, i even read reviews about 'My Love Is Your Love' albm which said that the only real good song from this albm is her duet with Mariah Carey.

 

Anyway, im not gonna lie, im genuinely worried about the fate of the new albm. it looked like such a promising start; but i feel 'Obsessed' was sooooooo underpromoted ...and then with all the Eminem feud and bad-publicity surrounding it; people are already calling her nasty names in the boards & forums ...again, now the albm being pushed back? i understand the idea of 'perfecting' the albm to the best, but still... not a good sign!! The last thing i want to see is, the media celebrating people throwing sH!#$ at her hard!!!! im not worried about Whitney, her come-back or how much she sells; im worried about Mariah . from what im seeing, she really really needs a better & more supportive management behind her .

Mariah´s album in 1998 was not a greatest hits album, but #1 album with her 14 number 1 singles and 4 new songs

i thought that u knew that Nikos a diehard MC fan and a lamb, like myself.

and she gets computer help to sound flawless on her records. Still ppl say she has the greatest voice on earth, that she doesn´t

Well #1's is a greatest hits album or a collection album, whatever you call it. These albums sell less than new studio albums..

 

So she didn't fell in Whitney's shadow in 1998. But I think that'll be the case this time cause there is a lot of hype about Whitney's new album.

 

And btw Mariah never said that she was afraid of Whitney. That was some stupid rumour posted in the rumour section of New York Post. You know that people always make up stuff but Mariah never said it.

"Obsessed" has no signs of slowing down. Even though Miley, the Disney Stars and Jay-Z jumped above it this week, Mariah has also been able to jump past Keri Hilson, Cobra Starship, and Boys Like Girls. Had the former not debuted this week, "Obsessed" would be ranked number 10 on iTunes.

Mariah Revs Up New CD, Returns to Powerhouse PR

Mariah Carey–despite idiotic postings elsewhere–is gearing up for her big new CD release.

 

Mariah feels so strongly about "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" that she's even re-hired the PR powerhouse that made her second-stage career such a success. She's back with Cindi Berger of PMK HBH. It was Berger who made her "Emancipation of Mimi" the biggest hit of Mariah's career. Smart move.

 

Of course, that means both Mariah and Whitney Houston are now being repped by the same PR company. PMK's Kristen Foster is handling Whitney with my old pal, Jill Fritzo.

 

"Memoirs" was scheduled for an August 25th release, then moved to September 15th. Now it's set for September 29th. If the regular Grammy deadline had been in place–September 30th–Mariah would have made it. But the unfortunate early deadline of August 31st cut her off. So she has some slack time to get "Memoirs" just right.

 

The first single from Mariah's CD will not be "Obsessed"–that was just a summer trifle, and it was a lot of fun. The real first official single is said to be a powerhouse ballad along the lines of "Vision of Love."

I don't think the label will not include "Obsession" on the album, especially since everywhere (including MC's official site) the song is billed as featured on MOAIA.

i always thought Bo was the superior talent that season. its sad that he didnt click in the music business ; talk about lack of proper support & wrong business decisions ...hmmmmph! thats the way it is always. i lost a lota respect for Clive Davis bcoz of the way he handled many idol-contestants!

whats even more amazing is that how quickly Vonzell Solomon disappeared! even 'bleh' singers like Bucky Covington (Season 5) & Kimberley Locke (Season 2) had records out with moderate/kinda-there success

Just from my mind, looking just to the past, postpone is a great way to promote and they are trying everything to bring Mariah again

If it´s true that Mariah is working with Walter Afanasieff again must mean something "BIG"

cause Walter hasn´t produced a solid hit since A New Day Has Come for Celine in 2002,

Maybe it means he comes back on the map since he´s been gone for several years,

at least from the spotlight.

He´s not like David Foster of finding new talents and helding concert after concert,

David is turning 60 on November 1 and still going strong.

LOL I don't even care if the Walter-Mariah collaborations sound repetitive. There's no doubt that they made the best music of her entire career. Hopefully the old sound comes back on a few tracks if not the whole album.
