Celine's comeback to Las Vegas - March 2011

i really hope this won't be happening. she can't leave other Storm fans on other countries to only dream about her and not seeing her in real life

 

It is happening. In fact she herself confirmed the news on the Oprah show that will be aired next week. I've said it before and I'll say it again...

 

Vegas is the best thing for herself in the first place and in second place also for her fans. She can perform at HOME (she owns a house in Vegas you know) en on her terms. She can be every single day with her family, she can sleep every single day in her own bed, she's at one of the locations she can call "home"...

 

It is selfish for us to ask, no even to demand, that she needs to get touring again because we want to see her on our terms in our place... Think about HER for once will you? Touring arround the globe is very stressfull even when you have the luxury of traveling with your own private jet, driving with the most luxuries cars available and sleeping in the most luxuries hotels arround the world. Think about her health, her sons health, her husbands health and also her aging mothers health... Think about her for once and not only about yourself...

 

Las Vegas is not the end of the world, actually it's a pretty cheap place to visit. Yes, airline tickets does cost money but if you really look for it you can find some decent bargain fares... You can even sleep in Vegas for a couple of dollars a night, something that's not always possible arround the world. You can eat as much as you want also for a couple of bucks. Travel is a bit expensive but Vegas can be as cheap as you want or as expensive as you want. It's the best location for this to happen (although I'm never going to visit Vegas during the summer due the heat .

 

And although I wont doubt she will get a huge amount of money for it you'll have to remember that she's also doing it for her fans... What would you like? That she says, he's I've reached the top, I want to spend some time with my family so I'm retiring... Or that she thinks: Hey, I want to spend some time with my family, come home every day but also give my fans something? I think the second option (though being in Vegas) is the best for everyone, don't you think?

 

 

Just my 2 cents...

 

It's easy for you to say that when she gave 11 concerts in your country and it was always included on the tours. But have you ever put yourself in other fan's shoes? Did you know that she has never been to South America?

 

Same happens for Spain, as well as with other countries there. It's easy to call someone selfish and demanding when they have had Céline in their country so many times. It's very easy to praise and love that Céline is going back to Vegas when she has always done cents of concerts in the US and they know its cheaper to travel there within the States than coming from the other corner of the world

Of course, i prefer when she's in a tour, it's more exciting, but well, it's not a life. It's way better for her to have a "normal" life and be home every night

I also prefer Céline in a tour, it would by amaizing if she will do tour every 2 years like Madonna, but Las Vegas is not bad, it´s better than she shoud stay at home, for example Mariah Carey last tour was in 2006 and her last tour in Europe was in 2003. So we are happy that we can go to LV and see Céline live on stage. But what I miss so much is live show with her french songs, Céline do new french albums during Las Vegas area, but she never sing songs from them (except ESRQU) so my dream is if she do several shows with french songs for example in Paris.

The same here... I'll definately go and maybe 3 others will come with me to. We'll going to combine Céline Dion, some gambling, some siteseeing, some entertainment and some fire fighting related stuff (we are all affiliated with the local fire department: 2 firefighters, 1 paramedic and 1 firephotographer) during the time we'll be in Vegas.

 

Flight:

 

United 951: Brussels - Las Vegas (with a technical stop in Washington: change of planes)

 

Hotel:

 

THEhotel, Aria or maybe MGM signature suites or Skylofts..

 

Rental cars:

 

Avis or Hertz to collect some additional frequent flyer miles.

 

Places to see:

 

- Céline Dion show

- Casino's for some gambling

- A gentlemens club to donate some money to people with to few clothes () (a must do for adults in Vegas)

- Some nice restaurants

- Maybe a Cirque du Soleil show

- Grand Canyon

- Los Angeles

- Las Vegas Fire Department

- Los Angeles Fire Department

- Hard Rock

- ...

 

So I'll hope to get some tickets next week and then it's waiting for some bargain airfares to go to Vegas.. I'll probably book my hotel through the marketing department of MGM if I'll choose one of the MGM places.

I'd be worried if people booked tickets for March and onwards and she gets pregenent. Shows would be canceleed (or put back) People internationally would have booked tckets and hotels. The HAVE to take this into account.

 

I'm still sore about my trip to Vegas in 2007. Booked hotels, flights and got second row tickets, then over a weeks worth of shows (if memory serves it was 2 weeks or so) were cancelled due to Celine promoting.

But since she sang a song for you on Oprah im almost 100% postive that it will also be on the setlist in Vegas

I love Celine both on tour or in Vegas! I've seen her perform for the very first time in Las Vegas, so I've got a lot of love for that city Plus, I'm a huge Cirque du Soleil fan and there are 4 shows I haven't seen there, and O which I just have to see again. And I love the sun and the heat, I lost 5 kilos in 8 days the first time I was there, it was wonderful .

The only problem is I'm planning a trip to Peru for 3 weeks or a month in March 2011. But I guess she'll be there for 2012 too, so I'll go for sure!

Maybe I'm indeed fortunate that she came more then once to Belgium... I saw her twice performing in Belgium, during the late '90 in the Stadium in Brussels and in 2008 in Antwerp. That's it. Besides that I saw her perform in Las Vegas (USA), Arras (France) and Montréal (Canada). So I even saw her more outside my own country than inside my country... In terms of miles I flew about 20.000 miles all together to see her perform in the US and Canada. Peanuts compared to fellow boardmembers who even travelled from Australia to Canada to see her... And I always flew in discount cattle class so it didn't cost me to much money...

 

Maybe if Celine had given 5 concerts in my country (like in Australia) that would have encouraged me to travel and see her in other places. But I was so disappointed that we were the only part of the world that was ignored that it didn't even cross my mind. I know some fans did travel. I also read when a fan from Argentina traveled to Las Vegas to see her and the concert was cancelled. She was devastated after all the effort she had made. Regarding the next residence, I know they will add more concerts, but if she doesn't perform in January and February, many Argentinians won't have a chance to go because most people have holidays during those months (it's summer here). It's so far that it's impossible to go to Las Vegas for the weekend.

 

I'm sorry to see that she never visited Argetina but that's not Céline her fault... You have to understand how things work. It's not Céline who makes the tour (she can give some suggestions though). When a tour is made, the management of the artist will contact one or more tourpromotors to work out the details of the tour. As I'm not mistaken, the promotor for the Taking Chances tour was in most of the countries LiveNation, world's biggest promotor. These companies are making a tour... They contact local branches of affalliated companies to ask if there is interest to schedule a show in that certain country (minus the countries which are excluded for some reasons: for example, you can be sure that Iraq was excluded because it is an unsafe place). So when after the first contacts the tour is formed, a schedule is drawn and negociations starting... Only when the deal is made it will be added to the list, most of the time several dates are kept open to put in additional shows regarding the demand after it's made public. Céline and her management can maybe say: hey I certainly want to perform in country X but if they don't get a deal with that country (the local promotor) the show won't go on... So maybe, again I say "maybe", the problem lies in your own country, maybe there isn't a local promotor that is willing to book her for a show, or maybe they didn't reach a deal...

 

I understand how things work. I'm 100% sure that Argentinian promoters are not the problem. The vast majority of the international tours in the last 6 years had stops in Argentina, Brazil and Chile. Why would there be a problem with Celine? If you want I can PM you a list of bands and singers that came and are coming. You'll see Celine's tour is one of the very few that didn't have a South American leg. I don't want to post it here because it's a topic about Las Vegas.

i will recomend u to call ceaser palace cuz if it for true they tell u the exact price cux TM Adds like an extra $100 in taxs for some vegas shows....

 

Any way im so exited cuz she is coming back to las vegas cuz im a huge fan of her since i was 11 y/o now im 20 n never had the chance to c her live .... so now that i live in las vegas im really put in my mind on saving money to get front line tickets ...

 

Plus LAS VEGAS BLVD. is not the same with out her trailer playing daily...

When you call ticketmaster for tickets you should call 800-745-3000. Celine will most likely have her own ticketmaster number like Bette and Cher do but I still call the regular ticketmaster number. And yes ticketmaster does add extra money to the order that the box office at the colosseum probably doesn't (however when you use ticketmaster you can get event insurance which gives you the money back in case of a show cancellation). hope this helps
