Big band and orchestration... wow... I'm so excited right now!!!!!!

The only thing I hope for now is the setlist to be renewed. The most, the better... I would die hearing Immortality with an orchestra!!!!!

OMG I'll tune into Ticketmaster twitter a few times a day from now on!

 

And Seb / Celine's Blues, you actually scared me, but then I realised it was you...

 

I don't see this as cool.

 

This mean no Gragone, no special effects, no dancers (not like "A New Day...").

It's sounding cheap... like some old stuff to old gramps go there seat and

hear Celine and the gramps orchestra singing songs from the 60's...

At last and bla....

 

Can't believe Guetta's thing was not true. I'm not still over this.

Celine had her run up in Vegas. She still has some 10 years to sing ahead (till René dies)

Am loving all the recent Celine activity, was missing our delightful diva! Grammy performance was superb and Celine looked fresh and youthful, also sounding great! The "Las Vegas Sun" reported about Bette Midler final performance of "The Showgirl Must Go On":

 

"International recording superstar Celine Dion returned to “her stage” at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace last night for the final concert of Bette Midler’s two-year-run of The Showgirl Must Go On, and Marie Osmond and Gladys Knight also made surprise appearances.

 

Celine was present via video, and it seems to confirm our Vegas DeLuxe stories that the Canadian songbird is returning to Las Vegas. Barbara Brander of Zeropower even went so far as to advise me that Ticketmaster would start selling tickets for Celine’s return on March 25 next year! Ticketmaster actually posted that date last week, but because there’s been no announcement, it was quickly taken down."

Haha, I saw this on Google News. It was so funny they called it "her stage", even though it kind of is! From what I've read, Bette couldn't sell out as many shows as she and her team initially anticipated. But I guess that's partly due to the economics crisis the world is experiencing right now. Boy, was Celine lucky to have her gig end right when the recession was really kicking in. Then again, she still would have made tons of $$$ regardless.

Bette has always seemed very appreciative of Celine and her talent. Glad to see that Celine was part of the end of Bette's show. I hope that it was a good experience for Ms. Midler.

 

My opinion: Generally speaking, I think if people are ALREADY in Vegas, they'd love to see Bette's show. But few people would travel TO Vegas for the sole purpose of seeing Bette's show. And that's the difference between Celine Dion and Bette Midler.

 

But PLEASE don't get me wrong. Celine is known for her vocal pipes - and, thus, people crave to be in the same room as her voice. Whereas Bette is much more accessible through film and other medias - not exactly known for having one of the best voices of all time.

I don't think this is going to be quite the news it was in 2002. "Celine Dion returns to Vegas" isn't exactly all that eye-catching. If there was something BIG and SPECIFIC about the show (like "Celine Dion teams up with Madonna for her return to Vegas") - then it would get tons of media.

I'm thinking that these dates for the Vegas return are just pencilled in. Only to happen if the IVF doesn't work, which they haven't given up on as of yet. Maybe this month she'll try for the 5th time?? And personally if she falls pregnant i can't see the new show happening until well into 2011. We'll have to see what she says during Oprah. Won't surprise me if its only about family, TC dvd, her fans, and trying for her second baby. If they're still trying IVF why would they announce a comeback - they won't know when the comeback will be!! Perhaps if the IVF was completely over it would be a different story. Who know??!!!!! Really looking forward to an english interview tho!!

I read this today, it was also by "Las Vegas Sun" about Bette Midler's final performance, and at the end they made up what a meeting of the executives, discussing how to fill Bette's space, would be like I thought it was funny

With Celine's profile so extremely high at the moment.... actually the highest its been for a long time.

 

It would be a wise move to announce/release tickets for the Vegas show ( if its definatley gonna happen later this year/early next year, that is ) sometime over the next two weeks with all this promo going on.... as by then the Haiti single will be out, her appearance on Oprah will have aired and the movie will be in theatres....
