martin Posted August 16, 2008 at 05:38 AM Posted August 16, 2008 at 05:38 AM I lost my entire hopes for changes.. Why would a good show change? Of course for all of us watching every moves she makes on youtube and on the net we hope for change, but the show is at its top and shes really into it. Quote
cmcdaori Posted August 16, 2008 at 05:39 AM Posted August 16, 2008 at 05:39 AM Actually the ''big'' surprise was the opening act; Veronic Dicare which is well known signer here, she made impressions of a lot of people including and it was REALLY good, people were really into it. S'il n'en restait qu'une is back, as well as Alone. Her rendition of l'amour existe encore was really moving and strong. Luc Plamondon was in the room and the way he was looking at her during that show was quit something. It was MUCH longer than what ive seen in Arras; the standing ovations, her talking with the audience, touching them etc. She was natural, energic, spontaneous, in top shape... Fun thing; vito luprano, which was fired by Sony Music, was with rene the whole night. cant wait to see it again tomorrow night! Excuse me..were they recording the dvd tonight? I didnt notice... Maybe. Theyre was so much TV cameras and so much actions going on as I was just beside the door by which she enters and leave so I cant tell. Ill look tomorrow. Thank you... Quote Thank u Jesus. Im in ur hands now.

JP Posted August 16, 2008 at 05:43 AM Posted August 16, 2008 at 05:43 AM OMG!!! One of the best moment in my life!! As Martin said, i can add she said she may tour the world, but she only had 1 image in her head, and it was the image of tonight.. People went crazy!!Luc Plamondon was near me and seems pretty bored..Shadow Of Love, there was 2 person up including me, i think it may be removed for tomorrow's concert.. And finally, i TOUCH her hand when she left, i was the last person before she saw René, i yell "Je t'aime Céline" and she took my hand very strong!! Was so shocked and so excited I also saw the thing she do with her thumbs with all the musicians backstage, was great!! And when Celine sang PQTME, Rene was crying and Denise Bombardier took a picture of him Her voice was incredible, L'amour existe encore did sound perfect.. I record S'il n'en restait qu'une, L'amour existe encore and This is a man's world. I will record some more tommorow Quote http://static-illicoweb.videotron.com/illicoweb/static/webtv/images/content/player/TVA_Celine_Dion_Sans_Attendre_Vf_WT_Poster.jpg

I'm really happy to hear about the show and the energy she put into it, sounds amazing!!! wish I could have been there.....but my point after all of this....and why I'm kinda cranky is that it was already been said that they were releasing two separate DVDs one for the English leg and one for the francophone ....which it's totally different as a DVD in two different versions (AND as an example)...and it's pointless if they share most of the songs....for me that's called "milk the fans"...and that's the only reason i was hoping for the different set lists..... just one night of totally different songs....but properly recorded for a commercial release.....still proud of being a fan of such a performer...and this show really shows how much respect she deserves Quote
mllea Posted August 16, 2008 at 05:57 AM Posted August 16, 2008 at 05:57 AM Hi everyone! Like several of you, I just got back from the first show in Montreal (and can't sleep... too AMAZED!) I haven't seen Celine live since 1998, but I once again was blown away tonight. I now live in Montreal (indirectly because of Celine - long story) so I was thrilled to be there opening night amongst her "home crowd." The emotion was running high. Celine teared up several times and seemed to be especially enthusiastic during her French songs, particularly J'irai ou tu iras and S'il suffisait... I loved her entire set list although the rock-n-roll Celine (Alone, The Show Must Go On, etc.) still takes 2nd place to "Classic Power Diva Celine"; The Power of Love, Pour Que tu m'aimes encore, All By Myself, etc., are still the highlights of her show. I was up in the 100 level but those were great seats. Unfortunately I was kind of on the south side (I think???) so I wasn't out where the stage jutted out into the crowd. I thought it was so sweet when she took the hand of a woman in the audience during S'il suffisait d'aimer and they sang together. Celine was visibly moved by the energy in Montreal tonight - it was hard not to be moved by it all. Really amazing! There simply is no one out there more talented - with both an amazing voice and stage presence - than Celine. It was also so sweet and testament to her kind personality that she ended the concert by walking briefly amongst the fans on the floor. she treats all of her fans with such respect. Before the concert started I also saw her mom sit down and Rene-Charles with one of her brothers (don't remember which one he is). It's so lovely that her family is so supportive and were there with her on her big night in Montreal. I see the concert again on Tues. but up in the 400 level. I still think it will be amazing. Then I hope to get floor seats for February. (Also... by the way, I think this is my 1st post on here but I've been registered for a while and occassionally drop in and lurk. Hi to all.) Quote

Of course for all of us watching every moves she makes on youtube and on the net we hope for change, but the show is at its top and shes really into it. I agree and I feel exactly the same way. It's been nine years since I've seen Céline in concert so personnally I won't mind hearing some of her old hits with new ones and especially the franco ones which she has not sang really for us almost all of this decade. Also, because of that fact, I think the show in the Plains of Abraham in Québec will be crazy and amazing and so unique. Thanks Martin and thanks JP and everyone who posted reviews. Hope to hear from others tomorrow. Bonne nuit à vous tous!! P.S. I still have hopes though for 'Je ne vous oublie pas' in Québec Quote

mllea Posted August 16, 2008 at 06:09 AM Posted August 16, 2008 at 06:09 AM You're welcome! It may not be the most coherent review I've written, because it's so late and I'm still buzzed on the concert. But I forgot to mention that everyone was on their feet for Celine after her big "power songs" (particularly the French ones), and after every song at least 1/4 of the crowd stood up. Many (including me!) sang along and most were clapping along with each song. The biggest moment was when the crowd wouldn't let her start singing "My Love" - we just stood and cheered and cheered and clapped and screamed, and she looked so sweet, bewildered, and overwhelmed as the lights went up on the audience! It was a great moment! I will NEVER forget this night. I hadn't heard about a DVD, I certainly hope they use Montreal for a DVD because of the special connection she had with the crowd. But I didn't see any mention of it tonight at the show. I will be checking back on here to see if there's more news on that. Goodnight all! Quote
