boyblackuk Posted June 1, 2008 at 04:36 PM Posted June 1, 2008 at 04:36 PM It has to be more than 80,000 becuase the actualy seats around the pitch fit 80,000 and then the people on the pitch were at least 10,000. Including the empty seats it was more than 80,000 Quote
CDI Posted June 1, 2008 at 05:36 PM Posted June 1, 2008 at 05:36 PM (edited) Yeah it was definitly over 80,000, the stadium holds 83,000 during a match one which the pitch is obviously empty and given the fact that over half the picth was fully seated for the concert I'd say it held a good 8,000-10,000 making up and possibly over the empty blocks capacity... Whats the chances of the concert being leaked as MP3? lol Edited June 1, 2008 at 05:37 PM by CDI Quote <iframe height="300" src="https://embed.indabamusic.com/p?p=https://lydian.indabamusic.com/submissions/6f7bc7ca-4666-11e3-bdac-12313b01d411/playlist" frameborder="0" width="400" scrolling="no"></iframe>
stevo Posted June 1, 2008 at 09:35 PM Posted June 1, 2008 at 09:35 PM Hi guys- thought I'd give my little review of my 3rd and final Taking Chances World Tour Concert. I'd like to say it was the best one yet, but I have to say, the centre stage show is much smoother and just better. But- the crowd made it at Croke Park-hearing that many people sing was just incredible- every big song was amazing- I just looked round and smiled, at the sound and sight- made me happy to be there for Celine. She was in great great form and sang with all her energy. TPOL (where she sings live) was brilliant- she did a few little different nuances that I hadn't heard before in that song. MY Love was indeed amazing- as was TT and ABM of course. SOL was poo- it just doesn't work IMO- I really had hoped she would have done FA and TJTWIM instead but oh well. RDMH had the crowd wild- I really couldn't believe it, although the stupid cameraman hardly got any of her spinning the mic stand... Anyone who thought the atmosphere was lacking clearly must habitually take pills because it was the best atmosphere of anything I've ever been to- such a glorious day and everyone was really up for it. It was funny about the clusterbomb speech cos she was obviously reading off a script on the floor at her feet. Mum and Dad had a great time too, and Dad even had a wee tear when she came out first. And so ends my Celine month. I think for me, 3 concerts are enough- i'll look forward to the DVD now Quote
stevethefan Posted June 1, 2008 at 09:48 PM Posted June 1, 2008 at 09:48 PM (edited) Thanks for the pictures and reviews! One thing that is good for concert goers as the tour goes on is that the show probably improves just because by this time they have already done many TC shows and worked out any glitches as much as they can. Although when I see these pictures at the big venues it does make me appreciate the "old" 4000 seat venue in LV where the furthest seat is only about 150 ft from the stage. There is a show she recently added in the States at a big Casino in Connecticut called "Foxwoods" that just added an MGM Grand theatre which just opened. This theater is, I believe around 4000 or maybe 5000 capacity. Hmmm. maybe I should go that concert. Edited June 1, 2008 at 09:49 PM by stevethefan Quote

I was in 303, row N seat 13/14.....There's a black woman in the fourth pic i posted, is that her you were talking about? She was freaking awesome, i can't remember what song it was, but it was a funky number, and i swear i watched her for most of it. And on the way out, my friend seen her and started telling her how awesome she was and everyone else was so boring and in a thick South African accent she said "Well you don't pay that much money to come and sit there bored do you?" then she disappeared off down an alley. He probably scared her soo much that she wanted to take her chances in the dark.... Edited June 2, 2008 at 01:06 AM by dirrtydavid Quote

Shamrock_1982 Posted June 2, 2008 at 11:58 AM Posted June 2, 2008 at 11:58 AM (edited) Hi guys Finally back from Ireland!! The concert was great, just wish I had of been closer, our seats were in section 305 row v, but weren't to bad I suppose.... Anyway we arrived late into Dublin becaue of the traffic coming from the port and airport...I've never seen Dublin so busy!!!!So we rushed to the hotel, got changed and jumped in a taxi to go get something to eat and collect our tickets, and believe it or not on our way there out of all the people walking to the stadium, I saw Ramona, so we called her and waved,lol...Sorry we couldn't stop Ramona...., but as I said we were soooo behind that day, although I hoped we would have seen you @ Jury's hotel in croke park or in the stadium, but sadly we didn't!!! Croke park is soo huge, it was my first time there, and it was soo cool to sit and watch it fill up...We saw rene, rene charles, celines mum, and sister and her husband, get escorted to the mixing tent, by nick who stayed there with them....then later patrick popped over there to see them. Later in the show, they were escourted to the front right of the stage during ''rdmh'' when it finally got dark, so I knew they were off to the airport. The show started and I have to say, once she appeared and said ''Is that alright Dublin?'' she stepped back in shock and amazing when everyone stood up and screamed back.... as she didn't go straight into ''idan'' it was a great moment!! One thing that really annoyed me was.... because I was far from the stage, I had to watch the screen alot, and her bloody photographer was in every shot walking behind and around her constantly flashing his camera, it was exteremley annoying, off putting and unprofessional I thought! He could have zoomed in from the back or side of the stage, but no he was right behind her moving around constantly!!!!! She still makes the same little mistakes in ''iya'' bless her....he he I loved...how she introduced ''Shadow of lurveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yeah'' lol I have to say though, it was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced at one of her shows hands down!!!!! Everyone, was singing, swaying, dancing, giving her standing ovations and really getting into the show. One of the highlights for me was ''TT'', as everyone in the stadium was singing from the top of there lungs, nearly drounding out Celine and her band, its something I will never forget, I was so happy to be there and so proud to be Irish on friday night!! I was also happy ''fa'' was removed, as they didn't have the walkways etc for the song on that stage, but was surprised she never song another song in its place like ''icftf'' or ''ibiy'' with il divo, but anyway...lol. The helicopter was the garda helicopter, but they may have had a camerman onboard to try and film from the air for the dvd yeah. Regarding the speech, I think it was relayed to her through her earpiece...as I said before that rene has a mic, and I seen im talking to her during the london show with it.... but who knows for sure!It was a surprising but great speech, and so cool to hear that Ireland was her lucky charm, just a pity she couldn't have stayed longer in the city!! You could also kind of see celine get changed into her ''rdmh'' dress from behind the curtain on the left of the stage, as a few ppl in my row pointed it out.....ohhhh urrrr missus! lol During ''mhwgo'' again everyone was on there feet, swaying, singing, with cigarette lighters lit, and couples hugging, it was great!I also enjoyed the line up bow at the end, las vegas revisted. Leaving the stadium through the small streets with all those people was an experience,lol...People still singing ''mhwgo'', people talking about celine, how great she was, showing off there photos and merchandise they got during the show, and everyone walking on the main road towards the city centre,lol... it really was a really great night!! Teodora Posted June 2, 2008 at 12:03 PM Posted June 2, 2008 at 12:03 PM I'm so happy for Celine that the concert in Dublin was such a success! It's a very special city for her and Rene and I bet she wanted it to be one of her best shows from the tour there. Quote

Most people I talk to say she has too much passion and love lol. These kind of people are so so stupid! I'm not saying that because it's about Celine. But it's so obvious they can't find anything bad to say about the show, because there's nothing bad you can say, so they just put some nonsense into their articles, because they hate Celine's guts. The have no integrity what so ever. A real critic that doesn't like her music would just say: "Hey, I hate those love songs with all my heart, but the show it's fine, she gives her all, her fans seem to enjoy it." Something like that, because that would be accurate, even if one doesn't like Celine's music. Besides, I've had it with all those newspapers/magazines that hate Celine and send people that hate her and the genre she sings in general to review her show. Not to mention, most of these reviewers know nothing about music anyway. Quote

Most people I talk to say she has too much passion and love lol. What a fool... I'd understand if the critic had a genuine complaint and backed it with solid evidence but that review was lame. If his experience can be summed up in that text message as he says then he clealry went to the show with a closed mind. Celine's interaction and dancing might not be 'cool' but it's charming and can be ignored if so wished. I for one wanted to see as much of Celine's trademark gestures but had to keep reminding myself to look as her voice is enough to make anything else fade into insignificance. She clearly sang a healthy portion of her own material so that criticism is unfounded... Her covers were far from lacklustre (The Show Must Go On an Man's World are simply incredible) and as for covering Aretha Franklin etc, that's Barnev's job! It seems to pain this man to give Celine any kind of compliment because even when he comments on how good she looks, he undermines the compliment in the same sentence. Hate her music, hate her mammoth success, hate her image... but don't deny that the woman is a born entertainer who puts on a fantastic show. Much better than her contemporaries and much better than younger talent. Her voice alone is awe-inspiring. Something tells me this man is scared of what his mates might say if they read his article and see that he might have actually (god-forbid) enjoyed a Celine Dion show.
