One of my parents car's had one and the thing that used to drive me crazy was that you could never get to any specific song on the tape. You had to press this button and it would go to one of four sections on the tape. So if you wanted to here a particular song you had to wait until it came up on that part of the tape! Quote

Reel to reel tape recorders were and still are really high quality tape machines. There is still a Swiss company, Nagra, that makes them since they are still used. They are not cheap though. Quote

I always thought that cassettes were great! I recently got rid of all my old ones from when I taped albums but they still sounded good. Movie studios still use film BUT they are going digital. In fact a lot of the movies you see at the theatre are now projected digitally, in other words, no old fashioned big reels of film. By the By Byu...I'm sure YOU must know this but the Smurfs turned FIFTY recently. One thing I did not know is that they were created in Belgium!
