stevethefan Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:30 AM Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:30 AM This spinoff from the 70's featured an intercom voice as one of the on going characters (named Carlton) Quote

stevethefan Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:34 AM Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:34 AM Yup! A very young George Clooney appeared on, for at least one, maybe more, episodes of this very young female oriented early eighties comedy. Hints: Girl motorcycle rider, roller skates. Quote

stevethefan Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:40 AM Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:40 AM "Facts of Life" is correct. Here is an interesting side trivia question related to that show. Who is the girl/woman who played "Joe" the Motorcyle rider closely related to who was ALSO an actor on a hit show in the seventies that we've already mentioned? Quote
ByuSmurf Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:44 AM Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:44 AM Jo was played by Nancy McKeon and her brother played Tommy (Phillip) on Alice Quote http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/byusmurf/siggy12-25-05.jpg
celinedionsfan Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:47 AM Author Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:47 AM Facts of Life I was also thinking this was the show Patty gave us lyrics for earlier in the thread?! You are correct, Brenda! Quote http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h24/celinedionsfan/candmsig8.jpg
stevethefan Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:52 AM Posted December 2, 2007 at 03:52 AM Correct! This 70's show revolved around a family. The actor that played the father, now deceased, has a famous son who has been in many hit films himself including "The Cable Guy", "The Producers" and is married to Jessica...What was the show and who was the Father and real life son? celinedionsfan Posted December 2, 2007 at 04:02 AM Author Posted December 2, 2007 at 04:02 AM (edited) Family James Broderick played the dad. Sada Thompson played the mom. Meredith Baxter Birney played the older sister Kristy McNichol played the younger sister. Forgot who played the brother - now I remember Gary Frank And James Broderick's son is Matthew. Can you name the Academy Award winning actress and her brother - the brother played on a famous show but the name was slightly changed when he was on. stevethefan Posted December 2, 2007 at 04:24 AM Posted December 2, 2007 at 04:24 AM Julia and her brother Eric(who she does not get along with) Roberts? Quote
celinedionsfan Posted December 2, 2007 at 04:30 AM Author Posted December 2, 2007 at 04:30 AM That was not who I was thinking of... the show was set in a small town... and the main characters, a father and son, left and were replaced by another father and son - the Oscar winning actress's brother played the son. ByuSmurf Posted December 2, 2007 at 04:55 AM Posted December 2, 2007 at 04:55 AM need another clue ... 'cause I'm stumped!! Quote http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/byusmurf/siggy12-25-05.jpg

celinedionsfan Posted December 2, 2007 at 01:14 PM Author Posted December 2, 2007 at 01:14 PM Okay here's another clue... the brother wrote an "unauthorized" tell all about his Oscar winning sister. Quote http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h24/celinedionsfan/candmsig8.jpg
stevethefan Posted December 2, 2007 at 09:34 PM Posted December 2, 2007 at 09:34 PM To me what's weird is that they replaced the original father and son with new ones? Is it from the 70's? Quote
celinedionsfan Posted December 2, 2007 at 09:55 PM Author Posted December 2, 2007 at 09:55 PM (edited) The show was primarily in the 60's having episodes in both b/w and color and was very very popular. Just barely getting into the 70's and that's when the change took place. Additional hint: The name of the show was changed from the "star's" name (because he left the show) to the name of the fictional town where everyone lived. celinedionsfan Posted December 2, 2007 at 10:12 PM Author Posted December 2, 2007 at 10:12 PM The Andy Griffith Show? I know this is wrong! Was the original name and you are correct that Mayberry RFD was the new name when Andy and Opie left. Yes, Ken Berry was the new star and his son was played by the brother of an actress who has won at least 2 Academy Awards. Quote http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h24/celinedionsfan/candmsig8.jpg
stevethefan Posted December 2, 2007 at 10:15 PM Posted December 2, 2007 at 10:15 PM I do remember that show but I really don't remember the son. I know that on the original it was played by Ron Howard. Hmmmmmm. Quote
ByuSmurf Posted December 3, 2007 at 03:07 AM Posted December 3, 2007 at 03:07 AM I cheated... Buddy Foster played the son and he wrote about Jodie Foster. I never saw Mayberry RFD... but LOVED to watch the Andy Griffith Show with little Ron Howard!! Quote http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/byusmurf/siggy12-25-05.jpg
stevethefan Posted December 3, 2007 at 03:20 AM Posted December 3, 2007 at 03:20 AM I actually do remember watching that show when it aired. I definitely DO NOT remember the Foster kid. A seventies show. Two guys, who live together, both divorced and opposite personalities. Here's another: A father and son, in the 70's, selling trash. Quote

celinedionsfan Posted December 3, 2007 at 03:47 AM Author Posted December 3, 2007 at 03:47 AM (edited) No, Brett Somers - Klugman's wife - played his ex wife on the show. His secretary was played by a woman who also starred in a very successful comedy series, has a brother who famous "behind the scenes" and was, at one time, married to an actor who was on another very popular comedy series.
